Yeah -- I always have to add veggies to those types of meals -- never enough volume for me. I bought a couple of cafe steamers when they were on sale -- I stashed them in the freezer of the refrigerator in the staff lounge at work -- will be having one tomorrow for dinner when I have to work a double, so will have to see…

Thanks, guys!!! For reasons I don't want to get into now, there is food available in my house that tends to trigger me if I start it, but I can't givie it away (past it's expiration, but still ok to eat) that I have to figure out something to do with. I hate throwing food away, but I may have to bite the bullet & do just…

low cal breakfast & lunch, no snacks, medium dinner. Have to be careful though, diabetic, so can't let the sugar go too low

Just went through the same thing -- had to use a fleets enema. NOT a fun proposition, especially as I had to have my DH administer--the things we do... Did work though. After that, try lots of fiber, water & fats -- also, consider a prophylactic laxative for a week or so -- stool softener or Miralax

Since breakfast & lunch have to be prepared the night before on my workdays (4 days/ week + every other weekend), those get put in the day before. If I know what I'm having for dinner -- ie, a high carb meal like macaroni or pierogies -- I'll go lighter in carbs early. Usually middle - high protein, middle - low fat,…

Pork chops oreganato, warm couscous spinach salad

I would use lowfat cream cheese (fat free has a weird texture)& fat free sour cream or fat free plain greek yogurt. Should be fine.

Might throw in some veggies, or put it between bread -- looks good, though!

You can asked to be tested for celiac. The hashimotos diagnosis my daughter got (which no longer applies to her, thyroid function is now normal) was my first clue that led me to insist on her seeing a gi doctor& getting her tested. Her celiac diagnosis was positive, and since going gluten free for that, her thyroid is…

Regular potato chips are about 140-150 cal / oz. I'd use that, unless you can find a restaurant with online calorie counts for a similar item

I have an hourglass/pear shape (wide shoulders, smallish waist, big hips, big legs). My sister is slim, except for a rounded tush. Her hs boyfriend once told her her butt was too big, & she started freaking out until I told her that her butt was the only way you could see she was a girl (from her shape-- very pretty face!)…

A wrap or "soft" sandwich - ie, something with a spread like cream cheese or pb, protein bar or shake, yogurt with some crunchy cereal stirred in just before eating, fruit & cottage cheese, some carrot/celery sticks for snack. If you can keep whatever it is cold with fridge or cold pack, its all the better. Only problem…

I'm halfway to that mark, can't wait to get to your level! Congrats!

IIFYM -- I take it to mean your specific division of carbs, fats, proteins. For example, I do lower (not low) carb, lower fat & higher protein than MFP set for me -- theirs was 50/30/20 (C/F/P), mine is set to 45/25/30 -- slightly lower carbs, slightly lower fat, moderately higher protein -- because that's what I want for…

loooove mushrooms. They go in my salad, in stir fries, omelettes, chopped into my sloppy joe mix, sauteed with onions to have with steak or burgers, added to my favorite sliced zucchini dish (thinly slice, sauted in a bit of butter & olive oil, with fresh garlic & basil). Soups, mushroom risotto-- so many things I add…

This. Yeah, I love sweet potatoes too, but personally just love them roasted, plain. No butter, no salt, just cut it up & eat it! Or, I'll make baked sweet potato cubes or fries sprinkled with a little cinnamon--mmmm

I used to make a large batch most nights for my family -- when the girls were young, called it "fancy oatmeal"! 2 cups oats (1/2 c/person), 4 cups milk or equivalent in dry milk powder with water, cinnamon, splenda, 2 chopped apples. Cooked & portioned out, in bowls for the family to heat the next day, mine in a tupperware…

Me too! I still indulge in a few treats -- had a 100 calorie pack of cheese nips with my lunch today, (after exercise @ the fitness center), but I don't have the huge amounts anymore. I did cut out my fast food binging, & eating whole bags of chips or boxes of cookies-- because that wasn't about feeding my body, that was…

Do you eat a lot of commercial "gluten free" foods --ie, bread, crackers, cereal, etc? When my daughter (celiac) wanted to lose a few pounds quickly so that her prom dress fit better (talking 6-8 lbs in 4 weeks, just enough so that the zipper would go up smoothly, & the halter back wouldn't have bulging around it) I…

Crockpot Sour cream salsa chicken - 5 ingredients 1 lb chicken breast pieces - place in crock pot 1 pkg reduced sodium taco seasoning -- sprinkle on chicken Add 1 cup salsa Cook 6-8 hrs on low Remove chicken from crock pot Put 2 tbsp corn starch in 1/4 cup water, stir into salsa Stir in 1/4 cup light / fat free sour cream…

I make mine from chicken pieces, or a leftover turkey carcass with a good amount of meat left on it. Unfortunately, that means some variables in calories, etc, but this is my base recipe, that I make in a pressure cooker: Uncooked chicken pieces--ie, 2 bone in breasts, 2 whole legs (my mom used to use something called a…

I don't rinse macaroni when we're eating it immediately, hot & with some kind of sauce/gravy on it. However, whenever I cook it for macaroni salad, I drain, rinse & drain again. It still gets a dressing, but rinsing off the starch, as others say, helps prevent it from sticking together. If you're making it to reheat later,…

Unfortunately, sometimes my recipes are old, not from a website, so unless I remember the directions, it's a little tough, when I use the manual build tool

I eat "sandwiches" once or twice a day (sometimes breakfast sandwiches, sometimes hamburger/bun for dinner, wraps, tacos, etc.) I haven't had any trouble losing. Add it back in slowly. As long as you don't have an intolerance to gluten, or celiac disease, you should be fine. Carbs tend to help people retain water, so one…

also, try to pick the items that DON'T have an asterisk (*) in front of them. Asterisk means someone entered it from home, & may not be accurate. It may be - I try to use package info when I enter stuff - but you're safer with the non asterisked items.

Unfortunately, "healthy" & "high blood pressure" are mutually exclusive. While you may feel fine, hypertension is not known as a silent killer for nothing. You are damaging yourself by not treating this. If you don't want to try medication, you can try, at the very least, a low sodium diet. There are some very inexpensive…

bacon at breakfast, some turkey pepperoni in my sandwich @ lunch, italian chicken sausage for dinner

Love them!!! I'm going to an all day conference tomorrow, & while breakfast & lunch are provided, I'm not sure what they'll have. Maybe I'll prepare a container of the overnight oats to bring with me, this way if breakfast is just bagels & sweet rolls, I'll have something a bit healthier to eat, & can enjoy myself at lunch…

I started close to 300 lb, & set for loss of 2 lb/week. Over the first 10 weeks, it actuallly averaged 3.5 lb/week, even though I was eating at the level MFP gave me. When I got down those 35 lbs, to continue @ 2 lb/week loss, I would have had to go to 1240, which was too low for me, so I changed it to 1.5 lb loss / week.…
