I am set to sedentary. Ok you are right, of course the total calories should be my TDEE. Looking at the past week or so, they range from 1900 to close to 2600. I am set in MFP for 1 lb a week, but honestly I would be thrilled with 0.5 lb loss. I set the higher goal to give me room for error...MFP only gives me 1243…

I am not sure what my TDEE is :( I am 38 years old, I have a very varied type of job (sometimes desk, but usually never more than 2-3 years a day, often run in and out of meetings, and fieldwork at times). In addition, I go to the gym 2-3 times a week where I lift weights (Stronglifts) and do 30 minutes elliptical. I also…

Same here. I am not rude...often I am alone. Now the cardio area is packed.

Today I felt a little like that!! Maybe it is a sign...

Thanks everyone! Ok I will try resting between sets and see if my progress improves. I guess I have the jitters... Can't usually sit still very well. I am squatting my body weight now so it has been tougher for me. I am pretty sore today so maybe running is overdoing it. And I go at pretty low volume times like 10 am. Most…

I guess I keep my HR between 120-155 during the entire time. My rest breaks are only between 90 seconds and 2 minutes unless I fail a set ( then I wait 3 minutes). Anyone else who uses strong lifts with cardio in between?

You added as a food. I would use between 250 and 300 option. Search for breastfeeding in the foods. It will be a negative number.

That is a really high protein goal...I started off trying to get 40% of my calories from protein and got my first kidney stone three months into the diet. I was told to reduce my protein intake. If course not everyone is susceptible to kidney issues, but I had no idea I was...I am now about 30% protein and have had no…

Great ideas here thank you! Adding cream to his milk is sth I never thought to do. Thank you!

That must be awful to faint that often! I have felt faint, usually really overpowering sense of nausea, but usually can stop it. Do you not feel scared of driving or hurting yourself?

My BP is typically low but I am always bradycardic. I have had a few episodes of tachycardia, but my low heart rate has made me have to get several years throughout the years. Oh and having surgery is awful! I am always given an EKG at preop, then medicated to increase my heart rate ( adrenaline I think) while everyone…

That is great info. So for me to get my macros up a blended would be better? I do lift heavy three times a week but not sure of being site to time a shake right after the workout.

Interesting, so you used it as meal replacement? The couple times my son tried it he wasn't fan of it. What did you mix it with?

She simply told me that it was cheap. And it became very clear she knows little about nutrition when she was said that vitamins and milk is all a teen needs to grow. I am in a wait list for another pediatrician. It is sad to say that the are plenty of doctors that really need training or education in the nutrition aspect.…

Thank you. I only intend to add it to up my protein intake on weight lifting days. I have notched I felt better wherever my protein is at least 35% of my intake.

I did speak with the pediatrician and she suggested carnation instant with whole milk every am. She said he needed to gain weight and that was a good additional intake of calories. I looked at the ingredients and thought it was awful nutrionally mostly sugar calories. I guess I should ask for a consult with a nutritionist…

Oh and something tasty and not grainy please...

Please talk to your OB. Eating healthy and moderate exercise sounds great, purposefully losing weight and restricting calories below maintenance in the first months sounds like a terrible idea. I tried to maintain the first trimester and then gain 1 lb per week at most. Unfortunately all pregnancies are different and I was…

Ha I am not the only one that thinks that Swiss chard was never meant to be eaten by humans? I love veggies with exception of chard and okra.

Thank you. I connected to the computer and can sync it with difficulty there too and it fails to install and something. Let me try that first and good idea on starting a new account for connect!

Well I would be thankful my husband would cook for the family when I work late. It is a rare occurrence in my household and on the few days he has done it, it is often a high carb casserole with chicken and some heavy sauce. I am thankful the children got full and are taken care of. I simply will only eat a tiny amount of…

OP find a reputable cardiologist. I would look for a research hospital, even if you have to travel some. There are a few rare heart conditions that emerge with pregnancy. I know I have been seriously misdiagnosed before and found much better care in a couple teaching and research hospitals. Don't give up figuring out what…

So much wrong here... Dreadful lack of support by doctors in your town for breastfeeding. All of those are not any reasons to stop breastfeeding. Losing 10% of weight as a newborn is completely normal and expected. Milk typically doesn't come in until 48 to 72 hours after birth with baby at breast every 2 hours. Anyways it…

OP, if you are exclusively nursing, start with adding 500 calories a day. If you have an older infant that is already on solids, tried adding closer to 300 calories a day to what MFP gives you. I only add 250 since mine us a toddler and it had been about right. You add breastfeeding as a food. Lots of choices will show up…

Hi. It sounds counter intuitive but you can find breastfeeding as a food. Search for it and pick the one that subtracts 500 calories a day if you are exclusively breastfeeding. I use the toddler entries of 250 calories since my little one is over 12 months. Hope this helps!

This! I use only stairs. Workout every other day at least in the gym and walk everywhere. Also I only splurge at dinner and don't fill up on junk during the day ( like burgers or fries). My rule is one dessert a day and 2 drinks max. I usually eat a light breakfast and salad type lunch and indulge at dinner. Typically I…

Thanks. I finally discovered the problem! The vivifit was still in the wrong time zone and the estimate of calories current was completely wrong. I changed the time zone in the MFP and didn't see how to change it in the vivofit. Since the hours were correct in the watch, I thought it was no big deal. I was wrong!

Unfortunately after I had increased my protein significantly, I got a kidney stone. It took a couple of months, not immediately. Not fun at all!! I was told that it was due to excess protein in my case. Of course that there are other types of stones, and I didn't know I had kidney issues until recently. But I am cautious…

Thank you Tonya. I guess it is somewhat rare and annoying at times! I will pm you!!
