Sweet potato butter! (Apple or pumpkin butter is also good)

Confession: The Brits meeting up in real life has made me jealous! I forget where folks are from, specifically (I think I have everybody's country down, and some of the US states), so I'll just ask! Any body in the Philadelphia/South Jersey/North Delaware area? We should get together! It could also be expanded into Eastern…

Scale victory(?): Still working to get the water weight off from...less ideal choices over the weekend (delicious things are never a poor choice), but gaining said extra weight did NOT put me back up over 150! (I was right at my recorded low on Saturday morning, so I'm hoping to be lower by the time this clears)…

Yes. Yes you are.

My other half and I often joke that we'd never have been matched on a dating site. We had very different political and religious views, which makes us "incompatible" to the algorithms. Instead, we have lively debates and have both come to a middle ground that better suits the coupledom instead of each of us as individuals.…

15-21st: Three days of Stronglifts 5x5, and two days of Arc Trainer (one 30 minutes, one 60 minutes). 22-29th: Two days of StrongLifts, one day of jogging on the treadmill. I hate running. 30th: I plan to hit the gym tonight for a short lifting session and light cardio. I'm pseudo-rehabbing an injury. ("Normal" bruising…

Also an October half-birthday! The 14th.

I'm thinking about setting a goal for July to have some form of *significant* physical activity every day. I'd say go to the gym, but I know there are a few days that I won't be able to so I figured why set myself up for failure? It will probably still be mostly the gym though. Ha! Example: We're going to Hershey Park at…

My cat is the world's least dangerous hunter. She follows bugs around the house quite well, but she just places her paw on them to stop them from moving so she can sniff them. Then she lets them go. Then stops them again. Then let's them go...

It's kind of like garlic mayo. Haha.

Confession: I had a weird food day yesterday with timing and eating differently than I usually do, and my stomach is not thrilled about it. I feel a little bleck. Guess that's what I get for adhering too well to my plan all week. Engagement party this afternoon. Perhaps the already feeling a bit ill will remind me to…

I know that shake move quite well. :)

Oh, absolutely not offense taken. I agree that weddings are a giant pain and really only go for the cake and the dancing. I'd love to skip out on planning one, but my hubby-to-be is from a huge Italian Catholic family and it would probably break their hearts if we eloped. So, we compromised on a more reasonable number (it…

She happens to eat fish, so that gives me more options! I think we're going with a Chilean Sea Bass with a ginger scallion (I think - didn't care, it was amazing) sauce. Sides will probably be standard roasted veggies (for everyone - buffet!) because it'll be late fall in Pennsylvania. However, I'm also having a FRENCH FRY…

Confession: I had a lab tour this morning, which normally takes all of half an hour. This was for two cytology students, so they ask more questions than normal, so I figured 45-60 minutes max. Two hours later... I didn't get to eat lunch until almost 1pm and people nearly got murdered.

My friend - who happens to be a trained pastry chef (!!!!) - is making our cake as her gift to us. She's going to make her basics, and the if I decide that the spice cake should be cinnamony-er or something, she'll adjust. I am a bit over excited by the fact that I will not have terrible wedding food. Because that's what's…

My maid of honor is a vegetarian, so the first question I asked venues about food was what they'd do as a non-meat option. I also then told them if they said pasta with mixed veg, I was walking out. ;)

Double post! Confession: I have to go to an engagement party on Sunday (I'm in the wedding), and I'm trying to figure out how to get in a solid workout before going so I have more calories to eat all the food.

1) Please report back on the Traveling Cupcake Truck Dress when it comes in. I've been debating (with myself) about buying it and I'd love an actual opinion (I was thinking the violet or strawberries but no matter!) 2) I'd probably just swing the pink dress for the whole day, personally. But I'm easy lazy like that.

I tend to wear mine in public when traveling (mostly air travel) or if I went somewhere specifically to study or do grad homework, so that I DON'T pay attention to my surroundings. That said, I don't think I could ever have both earbuds in if I were running on a busy street because I'd be too worried about being run over!…

I actually really like Zumba, but I hate that you kind of have to go to the same class/same instructor at the same time/place in order to get the hang of it. I tried sitching it up at my old gym, and it was like starting over every time because they all do totally different routines to the SAME SONGS.
-
If the thread continues to slip, I'm on board with moving to the group exclusively. That also allows for splitting topics that some folks can't handle (bugs, body fluids) so they don't have to skip large portions because of grossness. Just a thought! Work has been reasonably busy (in the morning at least) the last few…

Well, you did name her Moxie... ;)

I've always looked at it like men go in for the OB part of the OBGYN because they want to be responsible for bringing babies into the world. Maybe that's just me. I actually had a male student perform my exam once (male doc also in the room) and he was 1) super nervous, and 2) super polite about the whole thing - he even…

I saw it, but I am the absolute worst when it comes to calories on things involving chocolate because I can't eat it so pay it no mind. I did a quick search in the database and I would say a basic, small cone is around 100 calories. I don't think most of those include ice cream, except maybe the Wendy's ones, and are just…
