The soap taste is an ACTUAL thing. It's genetic, like the litmus paper thing most people do in high school biology. I don't have it so I love me some cilantro rice, but my better half does and is disgusted by it.

Guys. We're almost to 600 pages. We've been at this for 3.5 months.

As a sandwich or crumbled over top? Oh, boy. It's only 9:30am and now I have ideas about food.

It's not QUITE the same, but the Special K Pastry Crisps actually remind me a lot of Pop-tarts, but they're 100 calories per pack. Much more limited flavor selection, of course, but good in a pinch!

There was once a thread about this - that may or may not have been started by our own AOJ - that imploded with people freaking out over what counted as water. It was hilarious. Since I log everything that isn't JUST water (flavored, etc), I use my trackers for just plain water. It's more out of curiosity than anything else.

Thanks! That's my baby girl. :)

I'm not judging, I'm playing Devil's Advocate. By your logic, I shouldn't be annoyed by people using the R-word because I'm not considered mentally deficient, but I CAN dislike anything being "bastardized" as I am a child born out of wedlock.

New Jersey (where I was born) has a "homegrown" version of poutine called Disco Fries. Steak fries, brown gravy, melted cheese (usually mozzarella). It has bled into the diner scene in Philly (where I am now) over the last decade. Confession: Having multiple 24 hour diners available nearly everywhere I go somehow makes up…

I'm wearing a shirt from ModCloth right now! :)

You've unlocked a new level!: Spirit Animal.

I totally get where you're coming from on this, and it's nice to know we're not alone. I feel like a part of me knows that I want them to do better because I want them to suceed, so the annoyance I have with myself when I screw up sort of carries over. I'm a real jerk to myself, so it's only natural, right? ;)

I've worked in a medical lab for going on 8 years, and they used to have a different process for QC-ing a new batch of reagents in hematology. They'd offer to pay people to donate so they weren't using patient specimens. $45 for 6 tubes of blood was a nice random bonus every other month!

BEST.

Love love love Stronglifts. I've been horribly off schedule the last two weeks though. I guess that's a confession?
-
I am VERY excited to hear about the reaction, FYI. I wish I had popcorn.
-
Confession: I have a sinus headache, which usually kills my desire to eat, and I'm not-so-secretly glad about it.
-
Confession: I have "only" lost about 7 pounds in the last few months, but have seen a very noticeable difference in the way my clothes fit (including being down TWO pants sizes), so something is definitely working. I get so annoyed with not seeing the scale move faster - even though I KNOW that's not the "important" thing…

I didn't see anyone respond to this, but apologies if they did! To over-simplify, it's the belief that until an action occurs, both possible outcomes exist equally. The "experiement" is that if you put a cat in a box with a vial of poison that will at some undetermined point in time break open and kill the cat, the cat is…

I did not enjoy the apple pie one, and it kind of broke my heart.

I enjoy it for seeing how many of the references I get, especially when I know that lesser geeks do not. My future MIL regularly has to ask us for explanations about things, but she swears she loves the show.
-
Same. And now I'm a little disappointed. :(
-
For clarification: I did not mean BZAH10's post, since it was an observation, not a response! But it reminded me that we get a lot of "responses" to things on like, Page 6, When we're at 546.

I get the same way. I assume going to the gym 6 days a week will make me stronger/faster, but really, if I took a day or two off, I'd be in better shape by day 6 than if I pushed myself to the limit for the previous 5. Logic has no place here.
-
Confession: I kind of hate when people respond to a post that is NOT the first post in a thread without quoting it. Mostly because I get confused, especially if the responded-to post is several [hundred] pages back. Maybe it's just me...

Most foods have a 100g listing. If you had say, 150g, then you would log it as 1.5 servings of 100g. If you only have 75g, then you log it as 0.75 servings.

Confession: I stayed up way later than I should have finishing a book last night...but still got up at 5 to go to the gym, so at least there's that. Taking a few days off from the gym while I was away definitely did me some good. Felt stronger lifting today!
-
Finally fully caught up! Inspection went well enough - few things to fix, but still green status! I did not miss my job one bit while I was away, and am totally annoyed at being back. I was literally so busy dealing with stuff that should have been done while I was gone that I had no time to eat lunch until 3:15. Time to…

That stuff destorys my stomach. I'm sick all day if I start with that. :(

I LOVED Crack the Skye!
