Merriam I took my son on a visit to the college he'll be attending in the fall and we ate in the dining hall. He had a burger, fries, and a grilled chicken sandwich (kind of sampling the food). He said "yeah, I think I can get fat here  " and my response was "did you see that they had grilled vegetables over there.…

My husband and both my kids are very thin. The kids were very thin -- to the point where I started getting calls from the school. So my husband is about 50lbs lighter than I am, but that doesn't mean he is the picture of health. He takes both high blood pressure and cholesterol meds. It's been difficult to get him to…

DJ I'm with you! I can do it!...maybe. The trick is making light meals for me and more filling meals for my son and husband. But I do love my spiralized zucchini and spaghetti squash vs. potatoes and pasta. I'm becoming a pro at making dinner in 30 minutes or less. Someone once told me that if you want something to get…

I've been debating trying out Blue Apron. Maybe I'll target a Friday when my son it out with his friends, because Fridays are usually when I'm too tired to cook. Doesn't it get expensive though?

Hi! I spent the day walking around a college campus with my son. I think he's close to a decision. It was fun and I got a good amount of walking. So I need to get back on track with logging. I've planned all dinners for next week, planned snacks and will have the same breakfast each day. Lunch is the wildcard, but they…

Hi everyone. American Idol finale tonight. Whooooo hooooo. I'm going to stay up until 10 tonight. A rare thing. Living the wild life  Be back tomorrow. Kimses in MA

Stopping by for a quick hello. I'm having a really hard time tracking. Lunch is in the cafeteria each day so it's an educated guess on what to log from the list in MFP. My brain is mush by dinner. Not sure how to get on track with tracking. I think I need some challenge or something. I am continuing to get up at 5 and do a…

Sylvia hope you poop soon :)

Lisa My MIL was a hoarder and saved every single card she every received (which we found out when we cleaned out her house). So, I too, am a Card Chucker. I have a few from when the kids were very tiny, but that's it. Cards sit on the kitchen counter for a week and then into the trash. Guess I'm not very sentimental…

In keeping with the idea that 80% of weight loss is what you eat, I just came across this article in the Daily Beast that says: "Have you heard the adage “you can’t out-exercise a bad diet”? What you eat matters. It matters so much that if you want to start the journey towards creating a healthier you—perhaps losing weight…

Sylvia that's scary. Please take care of yourself -- this is the time for you to focus on your own health.

That's the rub right there, isn't it? For me, it's easier to exercise than to control my food intake. And what makes it really difficult is that when I'm tired (which is all the time at the moment) I'm more likely to graze (last night). This tells me that I have have to put some mental energy into setting myself up for…

Hi everyone - Happy April 1st. Today is my 27th anniversary...actually got married on April Fool's day  So, I haven't thought about goals yet. I've been just trying to get into a daily routine that includes exercise 5 days a week. Nothing elaborate. Nice to see pictures of the flowers. I saw the first robin today…

I finally weighed myself this morning (has been about 3 weeks) and was up 3.5 lbs. Wow. I suspect that is mostly from Easter. I've got to start logging again. Penny I always love love love your pictures. Keep them coming! Is it too early to go to bed? 7:30...hmmmm....I think I'll wait a bit, but not much. Kimses in MA

Time to get the easter candy out of the house. I'm a few days late with that one. Kimses in MA

Good morning. I haven't been checking in much since I started the new job. I've been struggling with the adjustment a bit, but this past week was better. I have been pretty good about getting up at 5:15 and working out for 30 minutes before getting ready. Yesterday, I went to the gym at work for 30 minutes on the treadmill…

I was escorted by the police (because I couldn't see). It was so much fun. Only a few screamers, but mostly kids running up to me and giving me big hugs. The down side is my head was too big for the costume and I was too tall and ended up with a wicked wedgie.

It's 21 degrees out here and I get to dress up as the Easter Bunny for an easter egg hunt in town. This should be interesting. Sometimes I wonder why I volunteer for this stuff. I will send pics later. Kimses in MA

Hi. TGIF.

I almost threw up just looking at the zip lining picture.

Good question. I think it's convenience, boredom and a distraction. After I posted yesterday, the same woman who went out for Chinese showed up with a bag of Reese's. Needless to say, she didn't need it and neither did I. When I asked if there were any walking trails around, her response was "I'll walk with you. But only…

Happy Wed! I'm taking a lunch break. I declined to go out for Chinese. I also won't eat at my desk. So I'm having my soup and salad alone in the cafe. I've gotten up at 5:15 and did 30 min P90x3 each morning so far, so I'm not going to blow it at lunch ! Next week I'll find a place to walk at lunch time. Kimses in MA

Hi everyone. Love the pics. Heather what a beautiful family. I'm struggling with the new commute. It took me 1 hour and 45 min to get to the office today. Only 80 minutes to get home. I'll figure out the timing eventually. I'm pretty tired. Early to bed tonight ! Kimses in MA

A quick post. First day of work and as, I think it was Carol who said it, donuts on the table first thing. Pizza and chocolate cream pie for lunch (it's pie day, like in 3.14). Had some pizza but that's it. Got up at 5:15 to exercise. But seriously, what is it about workplaces and bad food???? Kimses in MA

just swinging by for a moment... Had a beautiful weekend on Cape Cod and a nice 3 mile walk to the beach. Spring is almost here. I start my new job tomorrow and am a bit nervous, but I know it will all be fine. I'm sad that my time off is coming to an end. I loved not working although was getting kind of lazy. The lack of…

Did 45 minutes of Yoga this morning. My back has been very sore lately...not sure why...so back to doing yoga. It's 70 degrees in Massachusetts today. What a tease! Mary you are a driven woman  Kimses in MA

That's so sad. I'm sorry you lost your furry friend.

Hello everyone -- Penny I love your stories about where you live. It seems a world away (it kind of is!) Lisa Congrats on working out the work situation. Rori Good luck at the conference 30 min P90x3 today. I'm trying to focus on logging this week. I haven't been on top of it the past few weeks and it's hard to get back in…

Hi -- my husband and I went to a Sushi making class tonight. Very fun! He was better at it than I was even though he can't even boil water. I have so many ideas now on what to put in a sushi roll. Did P90x3 MMX for 30 minutes today. Other than that, it was a low key day. Thinking of that poor cat Sylvia. I will give my…
