How do you tell? I mean you, personally, how do you tell? How can you tell when looking at someone whether or not they're working to get healthy again? Shouldn't people, regardless of their health status, be treated with a modicum of courtesy and respect simply because they're people?

On keto, you need to track your fat as well as your protein. You might need to up your fat intake a little to give you an energy boost. And make sure you're getting enough sodium - sounds weird, but it helps. :)

Welcome! I'm on a low carb plan as well. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/394-low-carber-daily-forum-the-lcd-group has some great people and resources that might be helpful. :)

nvmomketo is right. Don't stress. You're just getting started on this. Log your stuff and just note where there are areas you can improve on as you go along. :) As for low carb snacks, eggs are great (egg salad, deviled eggs, boiled eggs, etc). As well as cheeses. Those little red baby bel ones are awesome, and string…

Questions to ask your doc: * How much exercise can I do each day? * How often can I exercise each week? * What type of exercise should I do? * What type of activities should I avoid? * Should I take my medication(s) (if you're on any) at a certain time around my exercise schedule? After you talk to your doc, do some…

Spaghetti. Spaghetti would be awesome right now. Lol. What kind of woe are you using right now? :)

Keep doing what you're doing, but talk to your doctor about the sleep issue and the nausea. The dosage might need to be adjusted. Or your doc might have some other advice on alleviating the side effects. Ignore all these naysayers - Contrave has the same stuff in it that they prescribe to smokers to help with their…

What is a fish pie? Is it like chicken pot pie but with seafood?

What kind of plan are you going for? :) Just generally low calorie? Low carb? High carb? More whole foods?
-
Hard to say without knowing sort of generally what your macros are. What balance are you going for? :)

It is absolutely crucial that you get the proper nutrition during the first trimester. All their vital systems are developing right now, and to do that properly you need to make sure you're eating right and taking care of yourself. Eating at a deficit and trying to lose weight is going to place unnecessary stress on you…

Ok. Question for everyone who's thinking NBFD and everyone else is just being butthurt crybabies - Would you be ok with her addressing comments like this to a kid? How about to a teenager? I mean she specifically talks about the little fat kid she was forced to sit by and how awful it was. Would it really be ok for her to…

Oh I'm dying. That's hilarious. :D

chicken, eggs, fish, whole fat dairy, avocados. :)

Because of some health issues I have, I try to keep mine within keto ratios. For me that's 65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs. It was really difficult for me at first, because starchy, carb-heavy CHEAP foods were a big part of what we ate all the time. But honestly we eat better and I feel more satisfied eating this way.…

All day long in here, people say CICO, CICO. If calories are the only thing that matter, and of course they are the basis of all weight loss no matter how a deficit is achieved, then it doesn't matter what time of day she's eating her calories. :p She says it's working for her, so why tell her to seek professional help?…

Frequently broke mother of two here, so I feel your pain. LOL. The trick is to stock up when things are on sale. That being said, some things (at least around here) are always consistently cheaper than just about everything else. Pork shoulder, also known as pork butt, varies from .99/lb on sale to about 1.49-1.69/lb and…

As far as low impact exercise goes, I cannot recommend swimming highly enough. If at all possible, find somewhere with a pool (or outdoors if there's anywhere close by) that you can swim in a few times a week. Swimming is super low impact because the water helps support your joints and body. It burns tons of calories while…

Spanish mackerel is sooooo good and good for you too. ^_^

Oh and deviled eggs are just awesome. And you can make them like a dozen different ways to keep it fresh - all induction friendly. :)
-
Oh, well if you like chicken you're in luck. :) It's so versatile, there's a lot you can do with it. Off the top of my head - chicken stir fry, chicken salad (the mayo kind), chicken soup, creamy crockpot chicken and mushrooms, spicy chicken curry. I like one pot dishes. Less mess to clean up afterwards.
-
I like eggs. They're a good choice during induction. Scrambled with a little hwc and lots of fresh black pepper.

Here's what I think. I think if everyone in the world were to wake up this morning and poof magically be exactly the perfect weight and body shape - people like her would still find reasons to be mean and mocking and just generally an a-hole. Oh I'm just so worried about their health. Baloney. Nobody gives a rat's behind…

Do you honestly believe that fat people are somehow not aware that they're fat? :|

Seems like it might help to plan in advance when possible. That way, like if you wanted pizza or mexican for lunch - maybe you could plan on something light but filling for breakfast and maybe a low cal, but high nutrient/fiber soup or something like that for dinner. For me it's easier to eliminate/cut way back on the…

I believe you have to do it yourself manually, ie pen and paper it. Total carbs - fiber.

Wow, MasterVal. That was tres rude. There are lots of great low-carby recipes, melmo. What kind of food do you like best? :)
-
Fat people are all disgusting. We inconvenience everyone and most especially her. The very sight of us in public, even fat KIDS, is an unpardonable sin against God and Humanity. But she only says these things because she cares so much... :|

Concern troll is still just a nasty old troll shouting loudly from under her bridge.

Meat and Veggie Soup. For about $10 you can make a giant stockpot full that will definitely last the week out. :) This is how I make mine. You can really sub in any meat. I just got sausage cause it was on sale that week. And feel free to throw in any veggies you like. 2.00 lb(s), Cabbage - Raw 18.00 oz fried, Hot Pork…
