So I'm going to go against the consensus here. The issue is you are over training. You're burned out because you are overdoing it, and you feel enslaved to it. Take the weekend off. Take a few days off. Then come back to it. Any fitness expert will tell you that once you have built a solid base, taking a day or two off…

Well, just about everything that has already been mentioned. But...pizza. I will eat pizza until it's gone, or I feel like puking.

So I just have to ask...how much time have you spend at a medical library reading "stuff?" I mean, are you blowing smoke, or have you actually done research of your own in a medical library? Can you give us the name of peer reviewed texts you would recommend to support your views? And, yes, we have "global pandemic…

^^^This My wife is a stay-at-home mom who cooks dinner for the family every night. She doesn't like that I've been on a fitness kick for 3+ years and watch my calories. I don't nag her, and I never dictate what she makes for dinner (after all, I DO appreciate it!). And I don't insult her by turning down something she has…

So glad we have your wisdom to tell us where and when we can eat certain foods. I'm NOT trying to loose weight. I'm training for a marathon and a 160-mile bike race, and my biggest challenge is not going underweight as I burn 1,000-1,800c per day on average. If PF wants to entice me to have a membership by offering a slice…

According to MFP, 10 minutes of body weight strength training (pushups, planks, squats, lunges, etc) is approximately 60 calories. I don't know this 7-minute program, but you're not burning much more than that. Not worth logging the calories. However, I do log my 10-minutes of daily core strengthening exercises to hold me…

And 2 tsp of flavored creamer is 70 calories. x4 cups of coffee = 280c.

Yes, you ARE a runner. You may not be a marathon runner, but you are a runner. Welcome to the club and don't diminish your accomplishments. As a runner with arthritis in both knees, down hill is the hardest for me. When I do need to go down hill, I lean back, reduce my pace, place my feet as gently as I can (no stomping),…

2 calories for a cup of black coffee. Just remember that most coffee "cups" hold a lot more than a measuring cup. I usually record 3 cups of coffee for every 2 I drink. And I use to think black coffee was terrible until I realized I was using about 300 calories of creamer per day. Two years later I prefer it black. Creamer…

WHAT THE HECK IS A "HORMONE RESET DIET?" Oh, I looked it up. It's another fad diet with unsubstantiated claims, and warnings being issued by nutritionists and health officials. You don't need to reset your hormones. You need eat healthy, and enjoy an occasional cookie. And it's your husband's decision whether or not he…

First I strap on a thong under my tights. Then I spend about 20 minutes trying to dig the wedgie out. Heart Rate gets up into anaerobic, sweat pours, it's hard to breathe. After that, I'm too tired to do anything else, but I've lost over 30lbs with this routine. So why quit now! ;)

I think the bigger problem is that you'd post a relationship issue like this to a group of strangers to find a solution. Why aren't you talking to him, or a friend, or someone who can advise you? This is not a healthy way to deal with it.

Tuna -- blah! (but I eat it) Quinoa

You mean that 8-story hotel in the middle of her small town that has no other high rise, not even a parking garage? I found it fascinating that no one challenged her on that thread.
-
I find it interesting that everyone is jumping in with advice without asking what you are doing, how long you are doing it, and what intensity you are doing it. If you are doing doing 10 minutes of body weight exercises per day, rest days aren't all that important. If you are doing 30 minutes of intense cardio or heavy…

Just did a 2-hour bike ride, and all I could think about the last 30 minutes was food! (and I had a banana on the ride). Came home and ate a guilt-free stack of pancakes with butter and maple syrup. Running's the same. Never met a marathoner who didn't fixate on food during their long run.

Is anyone missing the point that this is a "very small town" with an 8-story hotel???? The hospital is only 1-story. No malls. No parking garages. But Mariott built an 8-story hotel there? C'mon, people. This isn't real!

Mmm...the silence is deafening.

I eat when I'm bored as well. The first thing is get the snack foods out of the house. I know it's hard, but it's like the alcoholic trying to maintain sobriety with a bottle of cooking wine in the pantry. If you know it's there, you will be fighting the temptation constantly. Are you staying active? It's hard to be bored…

My wife complains that my pelvic bone digs into her when we're...um...tickle fighting? Fortunately, I can hold a plank for a long time now. B)

Congrats on the weight loss! Good luck on the running!

Set some measurable, reasonable goals. Those have kept me on target when I would have otherwise fallen off the wagon. My first goal was to run a 5k. My second goal was to run a faster 5k. Then on to marathons. Finally, the goal was to be in good enough shape to climb Mt. Rainier. For 2017, when I turn 49yo, my goal is to…

No, you don't "know." You think you know, but there is a huge difference, a difference you have to experience to understand. When your left calf is cramped up at mile 10, and you still have a 5k left to run, it's an entirely different mental game. Running my second full marathon this weekend, and that goes into an entirely…

The problem with trackers (including logging exercise with MFP) is the temptation to eat back the calories burned from exercise. Since trackers are notoriously overestimating calories burned, the solution is not to eat back the calories (or only eat back half).

I hard boil a batch of eggs on Sunday. Weekday mornings, I grab an egg and 1 serving of Total cereal.
-
So you are going to go through an entire day of activity and wait until the end to put fuel in the tank? You might lose weight, but what a miserable way to do it.
-
And the award for most encouraging MFP member goes to... :s
-
-
Yep. Been there, done that...more than once.

Many recommend you eat back no more than half your calories burned from exercise. The reason is we tend to overestimate how much we burned and underestimate how much we consume.
