And the answer would be "no" http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/muscle-mystery-does-denatured-protein-still-make-you-grow.html Next time YOU might want to Google it for yourself, before you post something you aren't sure about.

I join MFP back in 2014 to get into shape to climb Mt. Rainier. Finished that goal last September, and then ran a marathon in October 2015. In the process, I lost 46lbs. Within 2 months of my marathon, I had gained 12lbs back. So now I'm on this trip for good. I have 2 choices: stay with it or get fat again.

Protein Crepes--One scoop of vanilla protein powder mixed with 4 egg whites. Makes 3 crepes. 281c, 39g of protein, 9g carbs, 3g fat. You can serve them with low calorie raspberry syrup & a 1/2c of raspberries. Or smear 'em with peanut butter and top with a sliced banana. Mmmmmmm!

I've known people with dramatic weight changes (both ways) due to illness. It's really awkward to say something only to discover they are battling a life-threatening sickness. On the other hand, are you dressing the part? I waited until my jeans started falling off me before I bought new clothes. After that, everyone was…

Hot sauce makes anything palatable. I just keep dumping Franks Red Hot sauce on it, until my mouth is on fire. BTW, Starkist makes some flavored tuna packets that are pretty good. I especially like the Thai.

I drink it every day! Love the protein, the calcium, and the taste. I just work it into my calorie count. California almond farms are not sustainable. They are draining the aquafir fasting than it can replenish. So I won't buy almonds or almond milk. Soymilk may have carcinogens. I don't want to be a guinea pig for that. A…

Oh yeah. I'm already planning on backing my goal time down by a full hour. I'll run the first half nice and slow and listen to my body about kicking it up a notch on the second half.

Thanks everyone! I spent an hour on the bike yesterday and 2 hours water running in the pool this morning. I'm definitely moving forward. Oh, yeah I want this race! Last year this race was closed down after 3 hours when severe weather moved into the region. Buses were coming around picking up anyone still on the course.…

1) It sounds like you're over training. When you are tired, irritable, and hating your run, it's time to take a rest from it. You won't lose your fitness with a week or two off. If you've ever run a marathon or looked into it, you'll know that the "taper week" before a race actually helps make you stronger. When I had a…

I continually register for races--from 5Ks to full Marathons. After I've dropped money on an event, there's no way I can't train for it.

OMG! Imagine if you found out your husband was getting on the internet and publicly annoucing, "My 54yo wife looks so old! She's wrinkly and has saggy skin." Stop judging your husband and deal with your own issues.

So you need to ask yourself why you want to lose 10 more pounds. I plateaued after losing 46lbs and was obsessed with losing 4 more. One day it occurred to me that I'm healthy. I'm not starving myself. I'm active and fit. those remaining 4lbs were just a barrier to me being satisfied with my weight. I don't know you. Maybe…

Let us know when your kidneys start shutting down. That will eventually happen if you don't reverse course and get enough calories.

At least light, maybe higher. You're not sedentary if you are walking 5-6 miles every day.

So all the negativity on your post is why I don't ask questions on MFP. I read your original post and saw that you have run an half. Yes, there is a lot of difference between 13 and 30, but you obviously know that with greater distance comes greater (and smarter) work. Ignore the naysayers; follow a good training plan;…

I know 2 people who had this surgery. Both of them have regained roughly 2/3 of the weight they first lost with the surgery. One (a man) just continues to eat. He must cut his food into smaller portions, but he eats and eats and eats. The other (a woman) eats fast food for nearly every meal, drinks Starbucks Frappacinos…

When I get into big mileage for marathon training, I can't seem to get enough calories. I've been known to hork down 3,000-4,000 calories per day in the weeks ahead of a marathon, and I still lose weight! (The trade off is controlling myself to cut back on those calories afterwards. After my first marathon, I put on 12lbs…
