  • defo look at the resistance - you need to be working your legs to power the machine rather than just your body weight and momentum doing it for you.

  • Sounds way off - if i do 30 mins of fairly intense work on the cross trainer i show as burning about 280 calories which seems right to me.

  • This ^^ I was going to the gym 4/5 times a week, but still stuffing my face a lot of the time with takeaway and chocolate - and unsurprisingly i gained weight !! Diet is key - exercise is a bonus.
  • On New Years Eve i pushed the boat out and had a Domino's pizza and a Thornton's Chocolate Santa - alongside everything else I'd had during the day. In total I had just over 4.5k calories in one day instead of my 1380 I'm allowed. But who cares ! I hadnt had a takeaway since October !! Over the week i was under my calories…
  • i have been losing 2lbs a week consistently since August - up until a couple of weeks ago - and then it all came to a bit of a grinding halt - but i was kinda expecting that as i am now getting closer to my goal weight. The 1600 mark is an example - i can eat as much as 2000 per day at the weekend but i do average around…
  • this is the thing - i'm not hungry - i feel full, plus i have had some chocolate and biscuits too ! I don't know if you are able to see my food diary at all but i record everything and i certainly don't starve myself. I just do a lot of exercise - maybe too much !! But i have a bit of an obsessive personality - its either…
  • oh, and not lifting heavy. Doing 1 class of body pump a week, and then maybe some 3kg hand weights during the rest of the week.
  • I have a set of WeightWatchers scales - they have a body fat measurement and the results are pretty consistent. I was probably 4 or 5 lb's heavier in my profile picture than i am today. I started at 14st3lb (200lb / 90.8kg) and i am now 11st10lb (164lb / 74.4kg). I was 11st6lb (160lb / 72.6kg) on the 24th December but i…
  • 34 174cm 30% body fat I do 1 or 2 classes per day - mainly high impact aerobics with running and weights as well. I only have Sundays off. I have an office based IT job, but i walk to and from it and go out for a walk at lunchtime.
  • I use PDH Diet Whey http://www.phd-supplements.com/store/p/45/1/Diet-Whey-1Kg-Pouch.html - the new Cherry Bakewell flavour is amazing !!
  • I will try and find the UK Weight Watchers radio advert - which was basically a woman munching her way through food saying how she could still eating chips, cake etc on the Weight Watcher diet. That's what put me off !
  • I personally despise the Weight Watchers ethos. Sustained weight loss is, in my opinion, about lifestyle change. Weight Watchers promote ways to cram unhealthy food into your diet (chips etc). Its so not about this... the right nutrition is key.
  • You just to find foods to substitute which have lower calories so you can eat more to make you full. For example - previously i would eat something like steak and chips with a small amount of veg. I found that this would use up most of the calories for the day and therefore i couldn't eat much else. I have changed this to…
