I'm with you, OP. Stop playing victim and start taking control of your actions. You are a willing participant in what you do and don't eat. Nobody is opening your mouth and forcing it down your throat for you.

I have a FitBit. I love it because it adjusts my calorie goal each day according to my activity level. It also shows me how much of a deficit I created and lets me know if I'm "at goal" for my -500 calories in a day. :) I have some thyroid issues, so I do eat a little less than what it says my estimated calorie burn is but…

Just do it. You are in charge of your intake. You are in charge of your weight loss. Nobody can do this for you. You have to motivate you. Hang in there. Everyone has a rough day or a rough week here and there. Just pull yourself up by your bootstraps and keep going. Nothing is a lost cause.

I schedule it. We go around the same time every day.

It's great you're working out again, but a waist trainer does absolutely nothing to aid you in weight loss.

I like this kid. But kid, don't knock the others with underactive thyroid or other health conditions out of their control. I have underactive thyroid. It isn't an excuse. It's just harder to find that balance of CICO that will actually work. It took me damn near two months to figure it out and I'm still tweaking it every…

Nutritionally, it might not be satiating or positive. From a weight loss perspective, you can eat anything you want and lose weight as long as you're in a calorie deficit.

Feel free to add me! I'm 24, started at 210 and slowly whittled away 13 pounds so far.

That's helpful. Going on what you said about thyroid fiction, nutrient absorption is effected, too? This I wasn't aware of. But doesn't CICO still apply?
-
Psh, duh. Same living arrangements with the underpants gnomes.

Whenever you can.

Just eat enough fat and protein to satiate you in your daily calorie allotment?

There's the rub. It just depends. I used the generic IIFYM calculator and ate according to that, but I wasn't losing. So I kept going 100 cal lower and 100 cal lower gradually until I finally found the amount that works for my personal activity/exercise level.

Oh dear. OP, why would you want to weigh less than a 12 year old? Seek help.

You are only sedentary if you do literally NOTHING all day long. Do you workout? Work? Go to school? Do daily activities like clean or go shopping? If so, you aren't sedentary.

MFP will not let you complete your diary if you're under 1200 calories. They think anything under 1200 is unsafe. The amount of calories you consume should be determined by your weight, height, age and activity level. When you set up your profile, did you choose "Sedentary" and "Lose 2 pounds a week?" Chances are it…
