  • Thank you!
  • I'm 38 5'4" 127 lbs and my "sedentary " maintaince calories is 1,550. I don't know your stats but since my Fitbit shows I burn an average of 1,900 a day I could lose at 1,500 calories, not a lb a week but I could lose. If you don't have a Fitbit try a TDEE calculator online.
  • I'm currently at 36 lbs lost. I started on August 30,2015 so just about 7 months. There are many factors that will effect your rate of loss (weight, height, age and any medical conditions). I'm 38, 5'4", hypothyroid and started at 164 lbs. I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks Monday -Friday and I eat dinner our Saturday so my meals…
  • I think maybe you entered in the wrong activity level? I entered 5'4" 38 years old 127 lbs and exercise daily for 30 minutes and it gave me about the same TDEE as my Fitbit (except my Fitbit is set to 5'3").
  • This is good information. I was diagnosed and I'm being treated by my Primary Care Doctor. She only tested my levels 6 weeks after starting the medication and I haven't heard from her since because my TSH dropped to a normal 0.70. I also take B12, 5,000 I.U vitamin D daily and Forskolin. I guess I won't be tested again…
  • Yes, that is what I do. Fitbit tells me my TDEE is anywhere between 1,800-1,980 depending on the day so I know as long as my "gross" daily average intake is no more than 1,300-1,400 I can lose about .8 to 1 lb a week. On a side note, I set Fitbit and MFP to maintaince sedentary so Fitbit will add in my exercise calories. I…
  • Wow you must have a ton of muscle! I'm about the same measurements as you 31-29-37 (size 8) and I'm 129 lbs. my Aria scale tells me I'm between 31-32% fat in the morning but my measurements when put into a body fat calculator estimates me at about 29%. I really need to get some more muscle!!!!
  • I'm 5'4" but have my Fitbit and MFP set to 5'3" for exercise calorie accuracy. I started almost 7 months ago at 164 lbs and I now fluctuate between 129 and 131 lbs, size 8 jeans (I was a tight size 14). My goal is to get back into my size 4's so between 120-115 lbs. I turn 38 in 2 weeks and I also am hypothyroid but I take…
  • I have mine synced and usually my deficit for the day in MFP is about the same as my Fitbit app shows (I have both MFP and Fitbit apps set to Sedentary maintaince calories and deduct a 500 calorie deficit from the total). The only problem I'm having right now is MFP is sending duplicate meals to Fitbit so my Fitbit app is…
  • I look at this process as a lifestyle change so I prefer to balance my calories out over the course of a week. I wear a Fitbit and if my average daily TDEE is anywhere from 1,800-2,000 calories depending on activity I just keep my gross daily calories at 1,300-1,400. This allows me to eat less some days and more on others…
  • I eat the same meals every week because it's easy and I enjoy it. I also make delicious tostadas by spraying corn tortilla with coconut oil Pam cooking spray, bake in oven at 400 for 10 minutes, flip tortillas after 5 minutes. Top with whatever you want. I do refried beans, cheese, lettuce and pico de gallo. My husband…
  • Most of my dinners have very few ingredients, I'm not a great cook LOL! Here are some of my favorites: Low carb pita bread, pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, turkey Pepperoini. Toast in toaster until cheese melts and the pita is crisp. Corn tortilla, ground turkey, Mexican cheese, and lettuce/pico de gallo. Tacos! Low carb…
  • I usually eat about 1,100-1,250 a day Sunday-Friday and 2,000 on Saturday. I actually feel great on the 1,250 calorie days. I wait until 11am and start my day with a protein shake, lunch is around 300 calories of protein/fats. I'm basically eating all day from 11am until 7pm. After lunch desert is a 60 calorie yogurt, then…
  • Yes, having a day where I can eat what I want keeps me on track the other 6 days of the week. Of course I "try" to keep Saturday calories at maintaince but if I go over a bit that's fine too. I just adjust my calories to eat less other days of the week. I pre-log everything and that might mean putting in a "quick add" with…
  • I don't like to cook elaborate meals so this week for lunch I have 30 g Turkey Pepperoini, 30 g unsalted cashews, and a mini Babybel mozzarella cheese with a low carb yogurt for desert. Last week it was 1 hard boiled egg with 14 g light mayo on a whole wheat pita.
  • I'm turning 38 and have yo yo dieted and have a thyroid condition. I've lost 34 lbs since August 30th, 2015. I went from a size 14 to a size 8. I'm also only 5'4 so I need to pay attention to my Fitbit calories burned and not eat over my TDEE. As long as you weigh most of what you eat on a food scale to insure your…
  • I've been doing a 16:8 schedule ever since I started taking thyroid medication so nothing would interact with the meds. I stop eating at 7:00pm and start eating again at 11:00 am M-F and 12:00 on weekends. Sometimes during the week I only make it until 10:30 because I workout at 5 am and get hungry. I like being able to…
  • I do it this way and for me there are no cons, only pros. I grocery shop on the weekend and plan out my meals and snacks for the week. I pre-log my food each week and also log my dinner out/drinks for Saturday night. I check the daily average under the nutrition tab to be sure I'm meeting my calorie goal. I have a Fitbit…
  • I fit my cravings in every week. I love using the nutrition tab in the app to see how my weekly deficit is doing. I pre log what I plan to eat each day and make sure I meet my weekly goal. Like others have said, if you eat less on other days you can always eat at TDEE one or two days a week and still lose weight.
  • That is interesting how countries differ. I am in the U.S. and was put on medication with a TSH of 4.90. After 6 weeks the TSH went down to 0.70 so I'm still on the 50 mcg dosage.
  • Yes, your calculations are correct. Eat 500 calories less than your calories burned on Fitbit would be 1 lb a week loss.
  • My blood work in August of this year showed elevated TSH and once I was finally able to get into the doctor in October I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and put on 50 mcg of Levothyroxizine. At my 6 week lab work my TSH was in the normal range. I must say that since I was also overeating when I started watching my…
  • Try booking a vacation for motivation. My husband told me this weekend he likes how I look at my current weight (5'4" 131 lbs) I can barely squeeze into a pair of size 8 jeans (still a little tight for all day wear). I think that at first like you I thought I'm good, I can eat more. This week I've already logged a daily…
  • Sure, I weight about 95% of what I eat on my 1,200 calorie days. The exceptions are my 160 calorie protein shake, a 60-100 calorie container of yogurt and a 100 calorie bag of popcorn. The trick for me is delaying my morning protein shake until about 10:30-11am by just drinking coffee and tea prior. I then am constantly…
  • I now eat it once a week. I was eating it twice a day when I was packing on the pounds. I eat a huge wet bean and cheese burrito and a taco from my favorite taco shop every Saturday. I eat less the other 6 days of the week so that my daily average isn't effected. On the rare occasion I have it more than once a week I limit…
  • I've been on 50 mg of generic Synthyroid (Levothyroxizine) since the end of October. I started at 164 lbs in September and I'm now 134.2 lbs. I've lost weight every week by watching my carbs and sodium the day before weigh in. I basically eat all the things I love modified to be healthier. I use a Fitbit Charge HR to tell…
  • I think 1,200 calories is fine. I'm turning 38 soon, 5'4" and 134.2 lbs. I eat between 1,000 and 1,300 calories 6 days a week with eating dinner out and having some drinks on the weekend and I've been losing around 0.7-0.9 lbs a week which is accurate for my weight. I usually lose weight as long as my net daily average is…
  • Personally I eat out once every week and I plan for it by pre-logging my calories for each day of the week and checking my weekly daily average. If it's too high I can make adjustments to my meals and snacks on the other 6 days of the week. Or, you can do it the way my trainer does and order a side salad and bring your own…
  • I've been sick since Saturday with a sore throat, cough, stuffed nose and a general feeling of fatigue so I know how you feel. I've had to miss boot camp this week and I've only been able to manage a walk on my breaks at work. It really throws a wrench in your weight loss plans. As long as we're able to meet our calorie…
