Me: 12 LNS: 0 Streak: 12 Ok, last night was tough! Knowing I would need to write idown a win for LNS if I decided to have a late night snack made a difference--I chose not to.

I missed checking in one day (Maybe day 6? Day 7?), but haven't had any late night snacks since starting on Oct 1. This challenge has been really motivating! Me: 8 LNS: 0 Streak: 8

Two words: Grocery. List. If a food is not on the list, it doesn't go in the cart. That requires some meal planning, but it cut down on impulse buys that didn't fit well into my calorie goals.

Buy large pack chicken when it's on sale. You can repackage it into recipe-sizes and freeze, then prepare it in a variety of ways that kids will eat. Skinless, it's a good source of lean protein. (Also, I second beans as a very inexpensive protein source.) (Best of luck with your chemo. You might ask if your hospital has a…

Steel cut oats or regular (not instant) rolled oats are both more filling--they seem to take longer to digest. I rarely have time to make steel-cut in the morning so I use the method where you bring them to a…

It's still a surprise to see my clavicle. Such a happy, lovely little change.

Do what has already worked for you: You whupped *kitten* on depression to get into a gym groove for the entire month of January. That's amazing! You can surely get back on track once you've kicked the cold. Seriously, you probably didn't go to the gym 5 days a week the very first week. However you got started before may…

Worry less, walk more. :) A few chips aren't the end of the world. If there's something to learn (was there a trigger you can avoid in the future?) then learn it. But move on.

Do you have anything higher in protein, lower in fat? A couple slices of chicken, some beef jerky, half cup of low-fat cottage cheese? These all come in around 75 calories, and they may help with hunger pangs. The suggestion for nuts is good, too--but the serving will be smaller, relatively speaking. Hang in there!

Whatever you do, don't give up now. If you feel stuck, try something different and see if it helps--but keep working at it. Those stubborn pounds will go. :)
