Entered the ballot for the second time, if I don't get in this route I don't think I'd go for a charity place as I just can't see how I would raise the money. Good luck everyone!

No need for this comment whatsoever. I am a non smoker myself, but imagine going up to a drinker and saying 'That whiskey will give you cancer' or someone with a big mac and saying 'You'll lose all the fat off that once you have cancer.'...as both of those things have only a slight less percentage chance of causing cancer,…
-
Some really useful, helpful advice here, but as always some blunt and deliberately rude responses. No, smoking isn't the healthiest habit but it's one of the most addictive and any positive health change is good. Well done for wanting to make a change and all the best to you in having a lifestyle filled with exercise.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/content/the-pyramid-of-fat-loss.html Supplements, including CLA, can help with fat loss, if you make sure you have the three bases of this pyramid already covered, it's a smart way to top it off.

I'm going to see it tonight, cannot wait!

Make sure that you're eating less calories than you're burning...whether that's in 10,000 steps or 20,000 and you'l lose weight :-)

Just got a Charge 2...loving it so far. I'm //www.fitbit.com/user/4ZV3ZY

I have lost 57lbs, at some times have visible abs and am 15% body fat and I still feel fat every day....not sure when it will happen for me, if ever!
-
This fluctuation could be for a number of reasons. Make sure you're weighing at the same times with the same circumstances each week...and give it more time. If you're in a consistent calorie deficit, positive change will happen.

The speed limit is really annoying, it makes running almost useless for hatching eggs. OK, you get some mileage, but not as much as you're doing. Just hit Level 12, still can't win any gym battles though. Will have another go later! Still not got a great variety of Pokemon, evolved so many Pidgeys and Weedles now!
-
I have just ticked over to Level 11, I am hoping to up my mileage and get some eggs hatched! Best so far is a 514 Hypno. Still can't win any gym battles, people have levelled up so quickly!

I use Audible, £7.99 a month but you get a new audiobook every month, and you can pick anything from their catalogue, even titles that would be a lot more. I would look at some races if you can, it should help. Maybe have a look for running groups on these forums, arrange to meet people at the events? Or is there a local…

So great that you're planning this far in advance, just doing that you're already putting yourself ahead of the game. With energy gels etc I'm not sure which are suitable for vegans, but I can say what a difference they make in the race. I'd use them sparingly in training where you can, just so you get that maximum benefit…

I have entered the ballot for the London marathon...not hopeful though. I will be doing the Brighton Marathon next year (did it this year for the first time) I only started running in Feb 2015 so you're on about the same timescale as I did, definitely doable! I could try and give you some advice, but if you've fallen in…

Good advice. He needs a reasonable calorie surplus and training regime to gain muscle, and a reasonable calorie deficit and adequate protein intake to lose fat and retain as much of the muscle he has built as possible.
-
Perfectly safe and a high protein intake will help maintain muscle mass while you lose weight. However, as has been said, the macro split should always be a secondary consideration after calories, that is what you want to focus on.
