spotify has a category for running and you can manually chose your running pace and it will play music to match. Works pretty good and they have sub categories for different types of musice like dance or americana.

isn't that an amazing feeling??!?

I have switched over to One Meal A Day, except for weekends. I still get all my cals and nutrition but I have it in one gigantic dinner. Lets me eat pretty much as much as I want for that meal and feel uber satisfied. I found naturally that I wasn't very hungry during the day but the sooner I started eating the more food I…

I just have my fitbit synched to MFP and don't worry about it. Just follow was MFP provides for calories in and out.

Definitely try one of the structured programs mentioned above though too. I am doing starting strength, even though I have been lifting for years I have hit some major progression plateaus so I thought starting over from scratch with a more regimented program might help....and it is!!! The progrems are simple to follow and…

That was delightful. Thank you!!! LOL

I go to a Golds gym so maybe that is the difference but I see men and women doing weighty hip thrusts and no body bats an eye. Thrust away!!!

You just have to make yourself do it long enough til it becomes habit. I don't think there are any tips for real motiviation. You are either ready to do it or you are not. I do know that it has been better for me to lose weight because of my health and wellbeing rather than how I look in the mirror. Both me and my fiance…

Oh man so many of these sound so good!!!!!

duck breast with black current compote and roasted root veggies and some home made stuffing

This. I workout every weekday before work. Even if I am really sore from lifting, I go in and do elliptical or just a slow walk on the treadmill. If only to keep myself in the habit. Its part of my daily routine so its not a big deal and I don't need motiviation. I just do it.

Mental health is subjective. Just because its not healthy for you doesn't mean its not just fine for someone else.

my legs!! The squatting and deadlifting in a deficit is paying off and they are becoming actual leg shaped instead of tree trunks!!!
-
Yep this. Whenever I don't lift for an extended period of time and get back into it, I can expect a weightless stall for up to 2 months. BUT I also am not the most accurate food logger. As long as your logging is tight it will come off eventually .

Go go go!!! You got this and it gets easier.

have patience

I have had a LOT of family and work drama going on and usually that would lead me to comfort eating and drinking. I am not letting that happen any more and I noticed I am always happiest during the day when I am at the gym right now. it seems just about the only time I can truly get away from all the stress. I also noticed…

yes to all of this!!!!!

I just eat light a day or two before and skip breakfast the day of. That way I can just pound all the delicious food into my facehole!!! Oh my god I am so excited for stuffing and gravy!!!!

All calories are equal as far as fat is concerned. I have my fitbit synched with this site and I find that if I log accruately I still lose weight eating all my exercise calories. Some people haven't had that kind of luck, so many people on this board will only eat 50-75% of their exercise calories back and it works much…

could be a couple different issues. One is the back issue itself, which you should consult with a physio-therapist that can provide you with a workout to help you and prevent injury. You could also be feeling your back playing "catch up" with the rest of your core if its really weak. Also, should be careful about form here…

when you are running do you have more of a heel strike? I have plantar fasciitis as well. I had to teach myself to have a mid-foot/ball of foot strike when I run and it completely alleviated the pain for me. I need special inserts or orthopedic shoes for everyday walking around though.
-
That sounds like a circulatory issue, Might want to mention it to your DR.
-
You could just try changing your MFP settings to "active" or whatever and not log anything. Especially if you are doing the circuit training and keeping your steps up on a daily basis. This is probably how I would approach it.

I don't eat breakfast and have a very light lunch (like 300 cals) and then I save most of my calories for dinner. I love a big dinner and I am never really hungry in the morning anyway. it works great for me.

wow wow wow. I have always loved heavy lifting and posts like this make me even more motivated. I just want to say thanks to all the awesome ladies who shared. So friggin awesome. all of you!

yep, whichever one you like. I stick with treadmills because ellipticals make my feet go numb. Just a personal preference

I recently moved to WA where most restaurants are required to have the calories listed on the menu, including fast food and Starbucks. it really helps you decide what to put in your body.

yep, burgers became a rare treat for me. Maybe 3 or 4 times a year. I do enjoy eating out quite a bit in general but I make room for it during the day by really scaling back so I have extra calories for dinner.
