  • So, my 4 days away resulted in about 3lbs on, bf% increased by 2% and water decreased by a similar amount. I knew that I was off kilter but it is quite scary to think how quickly it bounces one way or another. Still, I enjoyed the grand prix weekend so I'm not complaining. Back to it today - I've got a few social things…
  • So, after 4 days away, doing nothing gym-wise (although a reasonable amount of walking...not excessive though) and eating a whole bunch of rubbish, I did a bodycombat class before work this morning. Hoping to get right back into it all - it's amazing how even 4 days can throw you off track!! I did have a good weekend,…
  • Having an amazing few days at the grand prix but eating a whole load of rubbish. I'm craving vitamins. I have been eating clean for only about 8 weeks but what a shock to the system this weekend is being! Can't wait to get back into my new normal eating habits!!
  • Just woke to your news beeps. Fantastic!!
  • Draw a line underneath it beeps, and move on. Tomorrow is another day. X
  • Bah, stephie, I know how pantsy you feel. I failed many of mine along the way. You'll get it next time. Stay strong girl x
  • Rest day for me today - much needed as I've had a manic week at work and I am frazzled mentally as well as physically. We're off for a few days for the F1Grand Prix weekend, so no logging of food, no access to a gym, but probably more walking than we expect, so not going to worry about it, just going to go with the flow…
  • Got on the squat rack at the gym this morning then couldn't get on the bench for presses!!! So squats 5x5 @ 72.5kgs Rows 5x5 @ 45kgs Then 10 x13 kettlebell swings @20kgs and 5x5 kettlebell push presses each side @12kgs. Rest day tomorrow. My hammies will thank me!!
  • Be careful Beeps! And you, aigre - don't do too much too soon. Stephie, the joys of waiting for months for exam results, I remember it well. When I did my first batch, it was before t'internet existed and we had to get the results from the Financial Times. We used to go and wait at the main railway station for them to come…
  • Stephie, you will love the books. We've had all meals, and I mean breakfast, lunch and dinner, from them every dayfor the last 6 or 7 weeks and I can't fault them one bit. The whole family loves them and I am really enjoying the prep.and cooking! Seriously, it is the best we have ever eaten. And lots of niggle ailments…
  • I'm impressed that you worked out so much when you were away, Jo!! I'm trying to trust my food intake a bit....I'm still tracking, but only at the end of each day, so trusting my instincts and then seeing how far out I am, if that makes sense! Am trying it this week before deciding whether I can trust myself a bit!! Scales…
  • Superb work, Canadian!! After my Gym session yesterday, I am most definitely suffering today. Stairs are not my friend! But....gotta love DOMS really!!
  • Had a very enjoyable 2 hours in the gym today. SQ 5X5 @70kgs OHP 5X5 @25kgs DL 1X5@80kgs Plus some (loads) of kettlebell swings and push presses, some lat pull downs and some abs work. Made yummy tuna and courgette fritters for post workout lunch and now collapsed on the sofa. I may feel it tomorrow... Thankfully a rest…
  • So....no Tgu. Will try another time!! Did 2x Hiit sessions and 10x10 BP @ 30kgs plus 10x10 rows at 30kgs. Followed by a few mins of ab work. Have a good weekend everyone x
  • I've been lifting since October and still can't get 5x5 @30kgs with good form. Sometimes my 25 kgs sets suck too. When I see my other lifts. Squats etc increasing so much, it gets frustrating. But I stick with it and even at that weight I am noticing a difference in the strength of my shoulders for everyday activities and…
  • Love the thred title!! :D Well done on the tgu. I keep meaning to give them a go and you inspire me to finally do so :cold_sweat:
  • So sorry to read of losses :( I do remember clearly though someone saying to me when I lost my dad, that by being sad, crying, feeling lost, scoffing carrier bags of biscuits, etc we are simply recognising that we were lucky enough to have such special people in our lives. That emotional eating, those tears, etc are…
  • Sorry about your grandma, Dawn x
  • Congrats!!! It would have been my 26th wedding anniversary today....but we got divorced and I have since married an amazing man. So I will celebrate with you!! Enjoy your weekend x
  • I'm (temporarily at least) working on a splits programme as I was finding I was either running out of time before work and rushing things, or that I was relying on the squat rack or bench press to be free and invariably it wasn't. So, Plans B, C and D have all come into the mix - main thing is I am still lifting, improving…
  • Can I please join the "really really really want to progress on OHP" club!! I can do 5x5@25kg most of the time without problems, and can do 30kgs for a few reps, but then the dreaded knee push has to come in. Grrr..... Went to the gym this morning - While I consider Wendler etc, I am splitting my workouts and roughly doing…
  • I agree with the OHP struggles spritey - increasing reps is one way, or if you have a shoulder press machine at your gym, you could do negatives to help too. For anything over 70kgs DL I always use the over/under grip. I've got some straps to use if I need them but am, so far, reluctant to try for fear of messing up…
  • Good news on the exercise beeps. Hope you're not too sore from it today. I've had a c-section before so understand the restrictions and frustrations!! Leg day for me yesterday.... 10x10 squats and 10x10 kettlebell lunges. With only a minute rest between sets, it certainly works me hard! I was going to do arms instead, but…
  • 2 sessions of hiit and leg day yesterday for me. SQUATS 10x10 @52.5 kgs, Lunges 10x10 @ 16kg kettlevels All with 1 min recovery between sets, hence the lower weight than SL sessions. Rest day today although already walked 2 miles before work and will aim for another 3 at lunchtime.
  • Oh the joys of politics, hey!! Stephie, I am right there with you over not measuring for fear of not being shown what you expect - I've done that many times before, so now I only get the tape measure out once every few months - last time was February, so I'm not due to do it again much before the Christmas excesses start…
  • so, encouraged by the fact that the new dress I bought for the ball on Friday was comfortably roomy (a uk 10, so very pleased with that, and a "column" style so no way of hiding!), and a couple of "you've lost weight" comments I have had over the weekend, I took my measurements. All locations show a reduction in cms,…
  • Ooh, good news about the extra rack! There are rumours that our gym may get another one too, so my fingers are well and truly crossed! Rest day for me today - I've worked hard these last few days and my body is feeling it today, especially my shoulders! Good news, though, the scales this morning show a loss, someone…
  • I lifted this morning..... SQ 5/5/3/4/3 @ 75 kgs. Best so far. Decent form. DL 1X5 @85Kgs. best so far. Didn't use straps so pleased with that. OHP 5X5 @25kgs. Also took my measurements and very encouraged as I have lost cms across the board. Happy Sunday everyone x
  • Superb progress supermel. Hurrah for the tape measure!! Julie, how exciting re the fostering!! Beeps, keep up the good work :)
  • I lifted after all!! Went to do chest and back only but the squat rack was free so I did a few sets while I could... SQ 1x5 @ 60kg/65kg/70kg plus... 2x3@ 75kgs. New best and something to work on increasing reps over the next few sessions! BP 10X10 @ 30kgs. This was v. Tough Row 10x10 @ 30kgs. Hard but loved feeling my…
