  • Running my first half marathon a couple of years ago, a year previously i couldn't run for more then 2 minutes without getting out of breath
  • Your metabolism can't be reset. It doesn't ever stop working. To lose weight you need a calorie deficit which spinning can help create Like all exercise it depends how hard you work at it. I love spinning, and take a couple of classes a week. Ive found it good for increasing my overall fitness as long as I continue to push…
  • My sister bought me a top and got me a medium because as she said it looked small fitting.(I agree, it looks tiny!) Well I tried it on this morning and it's too big! I can't get my head around how something so tiny can be too big. I can't be that small can I?
  • I was at the hairdressers today and have changed my colour and style pretty radically, something I'd never have done 4.5 stone ago. The NSV is though they took pictures so they could put it on their Facebook page and I just said yes without a second thought about my weight. I'm sure theyd never have asked pre weight loss…
  • My friend circle hasnt changed at all. I still love to eat out and go for drinks. I now just choose different things and if it's a special occasion or we go somewhere really spectacular then I'll indulge. To be honest my friends don't pay much attention to what I am or am not eating/drinking I've made new friends who I do…
  • Well then we agree. I don't think bmi is worthless for the vast majority (of course athletes etc are outliers) just that the range needs to be applied and this is where frame size comes into it. I think most people on this thread are arguing over what they actually agree on its just the wording that is causing such a…
  • I didn't think many people were saying bmi was worthless just that different frame sizes mean that people of the same height can look their best at different points on it On another thread I said that now I am closer to a healthy weight I was looking at probably stopping my weight loss at the top end of the bmi chart as I…
  • In terms of using it as a reason for being overweight I agree to an extent (I always said I was fat, I was never under any illusion about that) However the fact remains that there are different frame sizes and shapes. At my heaviest I still had broad shoulders and 68lb later I still have them. Are they smaller? Yes as they…
  • That's funny because as I'm 5 foot 3 and have a wrist circumference of just shy of 7 inches every frame calculator puts me at a large frame. Unless you've a different one?
  • I think you look great. I'm the same height as you and my goal was 133 but now I'm reassessing that as I'm currently 150 and think if i lost another 17lb I'd look too thin as I've a large frame. I'm now thinking that between 140 and 145 may be where i look my best As long as you are happy with your weight and how you look…
  • I'm originally from Wallsend (well Walker is where I grew up but my parents live in Wallsend) but I reside in Nottingham these days I went to college with a couple of people from Blyth
  • Breakfast was usually skipped or occasionally I'd have toast Mid morning I'd have a bag of crisps (cheese and onion discos were amazing) Lunch. A sausage roll and a sandwich, then some sweets Dinner. If I was in, it'd be a fairly healthy mealade up of some combination of meat/potatoes/veg. If I was out with friends (most…
  • Currently around 2400 and am losing about 1.5lb per week so makes my maintenance around 3200. Thinking that my maintenance will be around the 3000 mark which I've no idea how I'm going to eat that much as 2400 is a struggle some days
  • I've lost almost 5 stone in the last couple of years and one of my closest friends hasn't mentioned it to me at all. She can't not have noticed I look completely different. I used to be a (UK) 18 and I'm now a 10. I think its for a number of reasons 1. Not knowing how to say it without making it sound like i looked…

  • Scale showed that I'd put a pound on this week but rather then being downhearted, I've just shrugged it off as I know I've not put that on and more importantly have been shopping for a Christmas party dress this week and of the 7 or so dresses I've tried on, they've all been a UK size 10 and all fit except for one. At…
  • I don't know what's happening or how to fix it but the same thing has happened to me today. Hopefully it'll just right itself
  • My size 12 (UK) skinny jeans are now saggy and loose around the thighs and bum. While it's good in the weight loss sense. I'm also gutted as it took me ages to find a pair of skinny jeans that fit well. I've tried the 10 on and they don't fit the same!
  • I ran my first half marathon on Sunday as didn't walk a single step of it, (even the steep hill!) finishing in a very respectable 2 hours 12 minutes. Prior to this the only race I'd ever done was a 5k race for life and I had to walk the majority of that as I couldn't manage to run for more then a couple of minutes
  • I completed my first half marathon yesterday in 2 hours 12 minutes and ran the whole thing! 18 months ago I couldn't run a mile without feeling like I was dying!
  • Did 2.1 today. Was late home from work so didn't have time for any more, making it a total of 29.4 for the month
  • Did 3.7 miles today. Weather was horrendous, absolutely chucking it down but I persevered and managed a personal record for the first 2 miles of 19.03 minutes. Slowed massively after this but that is because I hit a big hill! Anyway total so far is 27.3 miles
  • 5 miles today bringing my total to 23.6. Another 52.4 to go. The weather forecast for my long run day isn't great but I'm going to try and run it anyway as who knows what the conditions will be like on race day
  • Another 4.3 today giving me a total of 18.6 leaving 56.4 left to go for this month. Today's run was tough, I'm not going to lie. I had to dig deep not to stop after the first 2 miles and I resented every step today. Still I persevered which is definite progress for me
  • Did my long run today 7.3 miles so a total this month so far of 14.3 leaving 60.7 to go.
  • Just completed a 4.1 mile run and it's only the second time I've ever run in the morning and I have to say I really enjoyed it. The streets are so peaceful and running while the sun rises puts you in a really relaxed mood. Managed to stay at a steady pace too So 1/6 was 3 mile and today was 4.1 meaning I've done 7.1 so far…
  • 1st run of the month done. Just the 3 miles as it was freezing and it started to chuck it down. Good old British tsummertime! 67 to g
