Nature does a bit, working out does a bit, but if you lose that much weight there will always be some saggy skin. I got the surgery, and it's the best thing I ever did.

my first goal was to eat a 400-500 calorie breakfast and nothing else until lunchtime. fruit was the only snack allowed, and no not fruit juice or fruit yogurts - just real fruit! after a few months I'd nailed down breakfast and then did the same thing for lunch. few more months, then same for tea time. few more months,…

I threw any bad foods in the bin. In a way, that's when I knew I was ready to change. A bit like an alcoholic pouring away the whiskey. Can't eat it if it ain't there! would just add: you'll get more replies if you use 70-84lbs instead of 5-6 stones. lbs tends to be the currency on here.

well, there's ice cream, peanut butter etc, or weight gain powders, or you can blend some clean foods. Personally I blend clean foods, because I feel it's more nutritional. The downside is usually taste, but you can work around that if you experiment with ingredients.

JoRocka nailed it. Only thing I'd add is that weight loss is obviously helpful, as it means you have less of you to lift. I lost 47lbs, and was flying up & down on that bar. I know three women who are 50+ and can do this, so yes it's do-able.

My wife believes so. Lucky me.

I'm probably going to get cosmetic surgery at some point, though it has improved a lot.

MFP just showed me reality: This is how much you can eat. This is the deal if you want to be thin. But it also showed me dieting didn't need to be starvation. Oh, and well done!
-
I hate scales. I'm just honest with myself about how I've been eating, and if you're logging your calories you know whether you're sticking to your goal anyway.
-
Oh I definitely have issues with food. Once I start eating the bad stuff, I can't stop. I'm like an addict. That's why I stay away from it as much as I can.

In what way?
-
I just find eating that amount of food difficult, since I like to eat clean and gain as little fat as possible. food becomes a serious chore, but downing my 'medicine' takes seconds.
-
Oh I've done worse. Even my dog looks at me strange. basically, hold your nose and down it. Of course, working in some full fat milk with protein shake throughout the day is the less traumatic way, but I found protein shakes much more expensive.

I had a problem eating enough calories clean, but dealt with it by blending some meals. for example, i'd throw 300g of chicken in with chicken stock & water. then i'd thrown in vegetables. it's like drinking chicken soup, and you can make it in bulk. I'm sure there's tons of info for this on bodybuilding websites.

everyone has their poison.

I'd say inverted triangle. My wife is also inverted triangle. If you want to increase the waist-hip ratio, corset training is great so long as you don't go extreme and damage internal organs. my wife does corset training. weight gain is natural & easy, but you can't control exactly where the weight will go on.

I wish someone had been more direct with me. People don't want to hurt your feelings, but if they had maybe I would've done something sooner. My mother lost weight recently, but started to put it back on (16lbs). I asked her... "do you really want to gain the weight back?" "is the food worth the weight, the misery?" My…

I was a fat kid. I wore jeans for the first time aged 25. weird experience.

I never go hungry, because that's not a sustainable diet. You wouldn't ignore thirst, so why ignore hunger? Ask whether you're eating enough calories, or whether you're using those calories wisely enough. I usually eat a couple of hard boiled eggs or fruit.

They are seeing unfulfilled potential. You can change your body, but the face not so much. They should of course say "you're pretty", or just nothing.
-
I used to look very bad when I dieted, even when my weight wasn't that low, because I did it with starvation diets. So bad experiences shaped me. When I dieted properly, I wasn't so interested in a goal weight but rather how I looked.
-
I should just be reading the forums as usual, but in spanish as I'm learning that. I really am the laziest person here.

This is what I asked myself when I reached my target weight: a) Am I a healthy weight? b) Am I happy with what I see in the mirror? When the answer to both of those was yes, I maintained. If you're a healthy weight, but not happy with how you look, it could just be that you need to do weights & cardio rather than lose more…

You're not alone here. Take a picture, and compare with an earlier picture. Maybe try on some of your old clothes. You need pictures/old clothes to show you what you were, because your brain forgets very quickly.

@Liftng4Lis There won't be a 3rd at all, or just not the same guy? Because you're going to get offers, I can assure you :)

I'm in the process of doing that one

ROFL. I love your honesty @SuggaD !

It was my 24th birthday, and I was still a virgin. I'd got through 4 years of university without getting laid. You actually have to work pretty hard to achieve that. Still hurts to say that, but maybe it'll help someone to read it.
