• Ok good to hear thanks for replies everyone. It was a full out session , well for me anyway as ive not done track training for 32 years :o I didn't know I could still sprint. Thanks again.

• I don't think we would have many members :D
• Thank you all very much, its appreciated. And yes I love ironing its so relaxing especially if you get some beats going and have a little jig whilst your doing it. Think of the calories getting burnt. I should start a Men who Iron Group ;)
• No don't stretch before running. Have a 5-10 min quick walk warm your legs up then have a little stretch or bum kicks or knee raises or just start running then when you are finished you can have a stretch. Never stretch cold muscles you are asking for trouble.
• I Feel much better now, thanks ladies :)
• Thank you nice big one
• He sounds like a complete Knob to me. Judging by your profile photo you are already trim so I would do 20-30 mins of intervals on the cross trainer to warm yourself up then hit the weight machines for toning. Do something like 3 sets of 12 reps on each machine with a weight you can manage 10-20kg Then as you get stronger…
• Or put a Rain Coat on ! Its great walking in the rain.
• As above poster said depends where you are at with your fitness. I turned walking the dog into my fitness routine. Me and the dog used to do a 30 min walk everyday just strolling along then I got the fitness bug and turned this into a 60 min walk every day. Then I started powering up the pace to the point where I was…
• Polar FT7 cheap as chips and does what you need. I use one for spinning amongst other activities.
• Look at the Mio range follow the link http://www.mioglobal.com/Default.aspx
• Depends what mobile you have ? My Sony Xperia will run Nike+ running app for about 16 hours my old Samsung Galaxy would have died after 3 hours.
• Is this part of your fitness routine :o can we all ask cooking questions on this thread ? This might be a better place to ask such questions http://www.discusscooking.com/forums/
• Good on you for choosing a local dealer rather than the web, However, doing a gait analysis on a treadmill is not much good if your an outdoor runner as you will run differently. My local store has a different way of gait analysis which I feel is a much better way than the old fashioned treadmill test. Hope everything goes…
• I have tried many different shoes, New Balance, Mizuno, Karrimor (dont even go there :s ) I am a neutral foot gait and have settled with Hoka One One Stinson ATR (im a trail runner) i had to go up half a size and they fit great. The cushioning is unbelievable its like running on pillows. They are wide in the toe box and…
• Short and sweet, Thats like saying running is the way to go if you want to move faster. Can you elaborate ?
• Funny enough I just talked to my GP this morning about working out at a high heart rate having had a Heart Attack 20 years ago at the age of 26. I was a bit worried as I often go into 165-175 bpm but he said as long as you feel ok and are not getting any pains in chest, arms, neck etc then carry on. He couldn't see it…
•
good idea Ive been trying to get out ride my bike, walk the dogs, go paddle boarding.. I just don't know if that would fall under daily activity to up my TDEE or if that is just counted as exorcize.
Don't just walk the dogs, Power Walk the dogs or jog the dogs . That's what I did and I can burn 600…
• As others have said only eat back half calories burnt as most exercise machines, hrm and MFP over estimate.
• C25K is a really good programme, im on week three but decided to keep going yesterday and ended up running for 1hr 31 mins over 6.56 miles in the hills. So it defo works building up running stamina. :D I must add im a previous runner just havnt done it for five years so be careful if your new building time and mileage to…
• Running in the Cheviot Foothills, Northumberland, England whilst the Eclipse was going on. Fantastic day 1450 Calories burnt in 1hr 31 mins and 6.53 miles covered. First mile was downhill cant get better than that. I got carried away though as im only supposed to be on Week 3 of the C25K but I just kept on going, Naughty…
• I am always famished after exercise. Can you give a few more details your current weight, if your trying to lose or gain muscle/weight, whats your calorie intake for the day etc etc.
• Google or Youtube how to set your bike up correctly it makes a difference. Link below for a good youtube vid on bike set up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VYhyppWTDc
• I have a Polar FT7 and love it. I have never had a problem with it. It does have a chest strap but as long as its tight enough it shouldn't cause a problem. I also have a older Garmin which is now 8 years old and still working great it didn't tell the calories burnt though so thus the Polar purchase.
• Thanks for that gave it a go and some good info.
• I have a totally miserable, upside down smile, WTF you looking at face but inside I am very happy. Most people tell me to cheer up all the time so he might be someone similar. Just has that type of face. Don't worry about it.
