  • Ya'll can feel free to add me, as well. I'm 24, 5'8 and ~150lbs. I've been maintaining for about a year, and now I'm looking to lose around 10 more pounds.
  • What a difference 40 pounds makes! Keep at it; I can't wait to see progress pics again in another 3 months!! ;)
  • The way I see it, if your only concern is the scale dropping, you can do that through diet alone. All you have to do is eat at a deficit and the weight will start to drop. That being said, exercise is still very useful. Cardio, besides being good for your body's health, can help you create or stay in that deficit. Weight…
  • My list centers around coffee, milk, quick oats, and whatever produce is in season/on sale/looks appetizing.
  • If you consistently get 10k a day set it as your activity level. I'd say moderately active if you choose to do so. I, however, have mine set to sedentary and then log it every day via my fitbit or manually if it dies/I didn't wear it for the day. The reason being sometimes I only get 2k steps a day - others I get over 5k.
  • Overnight oatmeal is great... I make mine with milk, a little vanilla extract, and whatever fruit I have on hand. Make it at night and it's ready to go in the morning!
  • Wow, what a difference! Amazing job!
  • You can do it! Can't wait to see your accomplishments!!
  • My mom is like that, too. I don't openly discuss my weight-loss with her, but obviously she knows I'm actively losing. The other day I was eating dinner at her house and my stepdad asked why I didn't want butter on my corn on the cob. Before I could answer, she blurted out "she can't eat butter, she's dieting!" Now, I know…
  • This is the scale I bought from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Ozeri-Digital-Multifunction-Kitchen-Elegant/dp/B004164SRA/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1433776263&sr=1-1&keywords=food+scale&pebp=1433776269048&perid=0T40050HYM431A6BAT41 I've had it about 3 months and have had zero problems with it.
  • As everyone else said above, you're not in a plateau at 5 days. You need to stop obsessing over the scale and give it some time since weight loss isn't linear. I, for example, only lose weight according to my scale one week a month. That means 3 weeks out of every month my weight stays constant or even goes up! Water…
  • I believe this is something most (if not everyone) goes through. I myself have been through the same loss of motivation a month or so back. I had just started my journey, I was working really hard and achieving my goals, and then my mother-in-law announced she was getting weight loss surgery. It hit me like a slap in the…
  • Nope, there's no way of that working accurately. For me, I'm on the taller side (5'7), but I have relatively small hands. I would probably end up not eating enough if I were to measure this way.
  • I'm 23, as well. There's definitely more of us here than you think!

  • I'll join! I need an excuse to eat at home.
  • One of the biggest things I've learned on my journey so far is to not let "healthy food" trick you into eating over calorie limits. Some fruits in particular can be pretty high calorie for what you'd think they would be. For example, one banana (depending on the weight in grams) can be as many calories as a serving of…
  • There are a few reasons, but top of my list is preventing the big health problems that run in my family - namely diabetes and high blood pressure. My mom has both and is severely overweight, so seeing her struggles is really what got me on this journey.
  • I'm 5'8 and currently weigh 178. My goal is 145, so as of right now no I do not consider that big. I've never been below 165 my whole (short) adult life, so I'm not completely sure how I'll feel at 145. It's a healthy weight - but, like you, I have a small frame. If I don't feel confident at that weight I'll lose a little…
  • There are exercises to work muscles in the body. The mons pubis, however, is just fat. You can't exercise your fat. Besides this, you can work any area of the body as much as you want, but it won't do a thing unless you lose the fat that covers it. Eating in a calorie deficit is the only way to solve your problem. Good…
  • Lol, isn't it funny how everything that you eat to gain weight is everything I eat to lose it? It's simple really - just eat the things you like in big enough portions to put you in a calorie surplus. Eat an extra egg or and extra slice of bread - it all adds up. Plus you can drink your calories - milk, juices, protein…
  • That thing isn't really accurate anyway, at least not for everyone. One bad day will not undo all of your progress. There will always be days you eat more than other days - that's life! You're being way too hard on yourself. And if you're already hurting I wouldn't do too strenuous of a workout. If you end up hurting…
  • Don't we all?
  • I believe everyone has been called at least one or more of those things in their lifetime. I've been called at least 4 or 5 myself, but the difference between you and I is that I choose not to worry about what other people think about me. When you do you let others control how you see yourself. If you truly feel as bad…
  • Mine says 165 - what I weighed when I got my permit 8 years ago. I currently weigh 178 (down from my highest 3 years ago at 196), so hopefully I won't be lying much longer!
  • I put spinach in most of my smoothies. Adds some fiber to a regular fruit smoothie, and you really can't taste it at all.
  • I've lost 9 pounds since the New Year. I don't really see a difference, but my husband and mom say they can - especially in my face. I have, however, noticed a difference in how my bras/clothing fit. I have to constantly pull my jeans up. I've noticed I feel a heck of a lot better. I have also noticed very subtle changes…
  • How long are you giving maintenance before you cut back down again? Adding back the carbs could be causing water retention, but if you're giving it at least a month and the weight is still increasing then yeah, could be you're passing maintenance calories by a few 100.
  • Can I just say that in your recent pictures you look so much happier? Congratulations on an amazing transformation and the wonders you have done for your health!
  • I think it's a completely viable supplement for weight loss - one that is actually fun! Of course making sure you're in a calorie deficit is the most important aspect, but I think you know that already. :) Personally I'd log the exercises under whatever it is you're doing - Just Dance under dancing, Shape Up under aerobics…
