It wouldn't annoy me so much if they themselves hadn't attempted the 'atkins' (without research) and scrapped it after a week, I've told them cutting back on carbs and going high fat might even help them but what do I know I'm not a nutritionist

Thank you :) I'll add some of these onto my list I'm not planning on dropping my carb count too low, I'd prefer it under 100g it's more a case of having a low carb base for all my meals and having snacks with higher carb counts if I really fancy them so I don't go over 100g. I'm just trying to find the right balance at the…

I know what I'm eating is awful, I try and keep the high carb stuff in small amounts but clearly I'm not very good at it. I'm going to plan out a shopping list and hopefully will be able to go shop tonight, Any suggestions for things I should stock up on?

yeah it's not cereal we normally have and I tried it and then just *had* to have another bowl The chicken things are breaded, it was all pretty ok carb wise until I had more cereal, I just feel a need to snack, it's not helping, I start out with good intentions, plan it all out and then end up snacking on things I…

I measure bust/waist/hips mainly and sometimes arms/thighs but not as often. My tape seems to stick to my skin so I sometimes do it over a thin shirt but I don't know if I'm pulling it too tight or if it's just sticking to me so I can't tell if my measurements are accurate. Do I go by loose to where I could move the tape…

Thank you :) I'll have to go shopping again soon, I've been looking at carb and fat content in some products online so I've got an idea of what I can buy
-
I tried to edit the title but I can't do that now. Any help with this? Can I lose and have my measurements stay the same?
-
oh fair enough then :) sorry for misunderstanding :) Oh I shall check it out thank you

I'm not looking for a 'quick fix' I'm looking for something to add to what I already do, I just don't have a complete workout I'm happy with yet so it's very basic using a 5kg plate (or barbell/dumbbells)
-
Thank you, yeah the sausages are way too high in carbs but it was all we had plus they taste good :) I switched to whole milk to try and get more fat but it's clearly not got enough in, I'm very new to high fat and I was bought up on low fat products so I'll try the cream approach, might fill me up better too. I thought…

I'm focused more on cardio so mainly treadmill, I do squats, bicep curls and whatever else I might feel like doing I don't have a proper workout yet but it's really basic stuff since I've never used weights before and I can't lift too heavy for medical reasons I suppose I really aught to focus on finding a suitable workout…

I know you can't spot reduce I just want to strengthen the muscles as I'm not sure I'm really working them enough compared to the rest of me
-
Thank you for all the ideas, really helpful :) I think I really need to stock up on some higher fat foods and start trying new things
-
Thank you everyone, I've found my motivation has increased since starting this thread and one great way of making sure I get at least 30 minutes is to forget to top up my bus card and have to walk to college ;) which I've found is perfect for me so I might start doing that more frequently and using the treadmill on…

wow, you look amazing :) Everyone's success on here is so inspiring
-
6-8 weeks would be amazing for hairlessness, I'll let you know how it goes, it claims that you'll see results in 4-5 sessions at one session every two weeks but we'll see

I got a home IPL system! :D Fingers crossed it works
-
ooo thank you :) I'll check it out and suggest it to them
-
Thank you :) It's so difficult because the 'eat lots of fats' part is so different to what we grow up with I'm resisting it mentally, my parents eat low fat so I have to make do with some of the lower fat produce ie milk and butter, I wonder if this LCHF approach would work for them too as they are trying to lose weight.
-
I find this hugely inspiring, thank you for sharing :) Do you have any favourite low carb meals? I'm struggling to figure out what to eat some meals (but I've always been that way) while still fitting into my calories
-
Oh I agree with this! I got my first 6 sessions on a groupon offer for £99 for all 6 :)
-
@A_Dabauer Just wanted to thank you as your comments about the home IPL/laser treatments have inspired me to go look around and I'm hoping I'll be able to buy one I've found, even if it helps somewhat to reduce the hair I'd be significantly more confident :) The one I've found has not a single bad review and is affordable,…

Good to hear it's somewhat effective, it's better it does an ok job than no job I guess :) I'm currently having my 2nd round of laser treatment on my face, I've had 7 sessions so far 4 weeks apart for each session and so far it's reduced but it's still there, I've got my fingers crossed it will work out well enough. I'd…

thank you, I noticed the worst of the hair as I gained weight, but I can't recall how hairy I was before that, I took it for granted. I was considering the home ipl systems to save money on multiple laser sessions all over my body but apparently they aren't as good as professional systems (but that opinion could be biased)…

Ah probably I think it was either glucose or insulin but it was that long ago I just can't recall, I think the metformin was a 'try and see if it works' approach the doctors had rather than testing for it
-
They did take a blood test but unfortunately I can't recall exactly what it was for, it was on;y because of my grandad having a test for diabetes that I fasted for over 12 hours beforehand, I don't think I was supposed to eat before hand anyway so I think that was what they were testing for. I did just google about the…

I'm not certain if I am insulin resistant, I was put on metformin (do they give it to everyone?) but I think it was to see if it helped with the excess hair, I stopped due to the symptoms it caused as they outweighed the potential benefits. So I suppose I'll have to ask my doctor next time I see her whether it says in my…

Thank you so much, this is really helpful stuff :) I've had a quick look on the launch pad but I need to have a proper look around.

Thank you :)

Thank you, I'm hoping weight loss will cause a significant improvement since that's what they were suggesting but if the symptoms haven't lessened by the time I've reached my goal then I will definitely be going back to my GP for a referral back to the fertility unit where I'll hopefully get some useful treatment. (please…
