  • Fair enough point. But does the point mean that if the OP incorporates cardio at all that they will then -lose- the muscle they have gained? That seems to be the fear, that any cardio incorporation will strip away muscle. Is this what you are saying?
  • I have the fit & simple omelette, and it is great! Add 2 bacon slices for fat & protein, and both my tastebuds & daily macros are relatively happy. I do miss the exorbitant meals there, but I keep my eyes on the calorie-deficit prize.
  • Okay, I have no science, just personal anecdote. I do 10-20 minutes of cardio as a warmup, then strength training for an additional 40-60 minutes 5 or 6 times a week. This has been my routine since I started exercising to lose weight back in December. I strive for a 45% protein macro daily, but usually call it a win if I…
  • I have been hitting the gym with cardio warmups (10 mins or so) followed with a variety of lifting & core for about 7 weeks, 5 or 6 days/wk. I see results at a 18 lb weight loss, most noticeably muscle tone in thighs & chest. Stomach is not all ripped, but one of the big lifter dudes I see every night mentioned how far I…
  • I use good quality lifting gloves. I do data entry for a living and don't want to tear up my money makers!
  • I have some of these same fears, OP, but I am looking at 40 in less than a month. I definitely put lotion into my regimen because the sag is there. I find that my feelings of body acceptance, skills I learned while heavy, are still serving me. I figure that no matter what, my body will change as I age. I can either work to…
  • I am so glad for the advice in this thread! The K+ thing worries me too, OP. I have found that V8 juice (even the low sodium style) has a lot of K+ per 5.5 oz can for only 30 cals. I hate bananas too & am always looking for ways to add K+ to keep the cramps at bay.

  • I couldn't explain the science, but I do not ache after a lift workout -nearly- as much when I finish with a protein shake. I have issues getting enough protein daily, and I like the ease of the shakes. I have been pleasantly surprised in the use of whey (non-vegan) mixes during my weight loss effort. Both my trainer & my…
  • You don't have to answer this (is not public business, in my mind), but where are you in The Gal Cycle? Vaca sodium as mentioned above plus pms retention would easily put 2-4 lbs on me. Just something else to consider. :)
