Yeah, that would be quite a drive to save a few bucks. :)

My current plan is to go to the CRASH-Bs again next year, and buy one of the C2 race machines at a discount. I'll still go to the gym for lifting, but that's because I work at home and it's one of the few reasons I have to get out of the house!

Context: I'm very much on the nerd spectrum. As proof, I offer that I spent yesterday evening playing D&D with my kids. NSV: I usually get flirted with by my fellow nerds of the male type. This isn't unusual. But lately, they've been just getting flustered. I just got waited on by a nerdling (translation: nerd quite a bit…

I wanted to meet a few different goals. 1. Top of low-risk BMI: 171 lbs 2. Top of low-risk waist/height ratio: 35" 3. Ideal racing weight calculation, which takes body fat and muscle mass into account: 168 lbs 4. To never have to step into a plus-sized clothing store again: Size 14. Achieved at 190. To meet all of these, a…

Another data point: I'm 5'10", 185 lbs, and my waist is also 36.5".

Visited another Y while traveling. Used a Waterrower for the first time, because the only Concept2 was in use. Much preferred the C2. Turns out that, if food isn't the whole point of the trip, I don't eat much when I'm away. I'm 900 cals behind and I've already eaten dinner. I did, however, notice they have some ice…

30 minute run. Hot. I think this is last outdoor run I'll be doing for a while.

I'm on vacation right now, in fact. I'm eating and drinking what I like, to satisfaction. I am tracking sloppily, and bumped it up to maintenance for the week. I wasn't very hungry this morning so skipped breakfast and just had really good coffee. I took a run through the woods, which was lovely. Tonight is sushi, and I'll…

Still on my trip to visit friends. Girls' night out last night. Drank too much, but avoided the usual accompanying calorie blow-out by having two not-huge appetizers (no large entree) and a lighter dessert, and by sticking to lower-cal drinks. Managed to hit maintenance calories. Woke up feeling pretty good. This AM, ran…

Ran 3m (10 min/mile pace) on the treadmill at a Y I found while traveling. It had a pretty sad fitness center (just 3 old treadmills, one elliptical and one recumbent bike), but it got the job done. Also, signed up for my fall 5k, at which I intend to break my 20-year PR of 28:32.

Pickled herring. Do I win? ;)

We stopped drinking daily when we started counting calories. We do drink a couple beers or vodka & sodas on date night or with friends, but that's once a week or so. It helps that I like wine best, but can't drink it anymore because it triggers my rosacea.

Sure, it's trendy now, but don't hold that against it. :) Definitely strip out the stems/ribs. For salad, tear it into small pieces and rub it down with the dressing. It softens it a little. For sauté, I just treat it like fresh spinach. Brown some onions and garlic in your fat of choice. Add your torn up leaves on top and…

30 minute row. Now packing up for a week away. I've scoped out the Y's closest to where I'm going so I can stick to my workout plan. Sticking to my eating plan will be a bit tougher.

Suggestion for taking the middle road: Set MFP to calculate your target calories for maintaining at your goal weight. You'll lose the pounds pretty slowly, and there will literally be no difference between temporary "diet" and permanent "maintenance." Then pay attention to eating and activity patterns that work for you for…

@Djproulx -- Sounds like a great day! I took a couple too many rest days this week, for no reason other than not being enthusiastic. But, to my surprise, it really messed with my head. My mood has been really bad, my appetite was increasing, and I had claustrophobia nightmares last night. I realized this morning that it…

Stretching. Ibuprofen.

Usually two or three days.

I either get workout gear or experiences. Two more pounds and I'm going to get a more accurate body fat test and an RMR test.

It's a good time to start modeling good eating habits for the kiddos. This is when they decide what "normal" is. Don't bring home the foods that you have trouble moderating. For me, that's cheesy crackers, so the kids just had to be ok with getting occasional single-serve packs. Plan ahead so you know when your next meal…

@sdereski -- I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It really drives home how short life really is, and how we need to make the most of it. Glad you're taking care of yourself.

Smart! That's why I like the Oxo scale with the pull-out faceplate.
-
@Hypsibius -- Glad to hear it! Thanks for responding. I've been curious if the recommendation worked out. :)

1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1c milk, 1 c cooled coffee, and a handful of ice. Not bad!

Links are fine, as long as they're not selling something or (I assume) to an MFP competitor.

Lol! Boob twins FTW! Well, yeah. I'm 46 with 2 breastfed kids. Hence my desire for a lift. :)
-
But your boobs still shrank, just not as dramatically as your band. The cup size is just a code for the difference in inches between band and breast. 42C = 42" band & 45" breast 38D = 38" band & 42" breast

I have some elbow pain as well. I have it narrowed down to either push-ups or playing my musical instrument. But I'm leaning toward the push-ups because I don't think I've changed my instrument-playing technique. After some rest, I'm going to substitute bench presses to see if that makes a difference.

I have sciatica and get bad muscle cramps. I try to get enough K and Mg through my food, but I take the supplements as well to boost my intake.
