Good thing I got my 3 miles done early. I needed the knowledge that I did this one good thing, even if everything else goes wrong today.

Kirkland/Costco House Blend (actually a Starbucks Medium Roast), whole bean. Good and not too spendy. Brewed in a French press.

4m on the bike path. Then frolicking at the park with the pooch. So far, a great weekend!

Beautiful day. Sunny and cool. Lots of people and doggies on the bike path. 4m. 19.7/40 I’m jealous of all the new shoes. I also have new shoes (Saucony Kinvara 9), but the first time I wore them, I stepped in a big pile of dog poop. Still working on cleaning them up. So, old shoes it is for another day or two (Kinvara 6).

Made an attempt at strength training today, but it was pretty lame. I need a plan. I will research this weekend. My goals are injury prevention for running and general fitness. Also rowed 20 minutes.

7x400 on the treadmill, then bolted home for a video call. Threw on a sweater over my workout tank, brushed my hair, and almost looked work-appropriate. Almost. :) Happy End-of-Tax-Season!

This exactly. The outside half of my right leg, thigh to toes, is numb. When I stop moving, it’s somehow both numb and painful. Weight loss has helped, but more so daily exercise. I run, bike, swim, row, and stretch.

7 x 400 on the treadmill. 15.5/40 I’m not going to hit the April goal, but I’m working on being OK with that. Trying to make up for lost time, running on what should be rest or cross-training days, will only lead to injury. Even now, my sciatica is causing some trouble and I need to be cautious. So maybe that’s my true…

30 minutes on the bike. I was going at a pretty good clip, except when I had to take a call from an employee. “Are you OK? I can hear you breathing.” I slowed up a bit at that point.

Thanks for returning to update us! Interesting stuff. Hope it clears up quickly.

I like the slip & fall reporting. Important data: mileage, pace, weather, wipe-outs. :)

If I’m going to be expected to participate in a lunch or dinner where I anticipate I may eat more than I intend, I skip breakfast or get in a work-out. Then at dinner, an appetizer and side salad is plenty of food. Or, a steak with a side of veg is often available and not too calorific. One alcoholic drink, then seltzer…

It’s the ratio of carbs to protein. Yes, another sweetened milk would do the same thing, but chocolate milk is ubiquitous.

3m on the treadmill, just shy of 5K race pace. Two more weeks to race day!
-
I didn’t run last week (a business trip threw all my plans out of whack), but now I’m back. Took advantage of an hour waiting for my son to get out of an appointment and hit the Y. 3 miles at close to race pace. Race is in 2 weeks. 12/40 Edit: Great race report, mobycarp! The struggle is real. And worth it. :)

Team Plain Yogurt! I add either a diced apple or banana, and sliced almonds. It satisfies all the creamy and crunchy needs. :)

For the last 7 days, I’m averaging 19% protein. For me, fat is more satiating, so I’ll include that number as well: 38%. That said, I pay no attention to the numbers themselves. I don’t often eat carbs by themselves or as the dominant item in the meal, and my dairy is full-fat. That usually covers it.

I prefer my yogurt plain and full-fat, so I just portion out the large tubs into individual servings in reusable cups. A 6-pack would be nice, but I’ve never seen any for unsweetened varieties. Upsides: Cheaper and less packaging.
-
I only feel hunger (except right before meal times), when I make bad choices. I need protein and fat to feel satisfied. If I eat just carbs, I’m ravenous again within the hour. For example, 175g of plain nonfat yogurt for breakfast won’t last me more than a half-hour. But 175g of plain whole-fat yogurt will last until…

How about a grocery list? This is a typical weekly list. Once a month or so, I hit the Costco for the list at the bottom.

I have something in my eye. It’s leaking. Excellent report, and an inspiring finish. Thanks for sharing it with us!

I just get a regular coffee and put a little cream and half a packet of sweetener in when I want a treat. My daily coffee is black.

@caramelgyrlk - I’m sorry about your friend. That’s a hard road. I’ve been on a work trip this week, with family tagging along. I brought running gear and my bike, but haven’t done either one, and I haven’t logged much of anything. I walked into our HQ to find a manager/employee conflict already in progress, and it’s going…

I just replaced my Kinvara 6s with 9s. So far, so good!

1000m in the pool. The lifeguard told me she liked my suit. You mean, my sports bra and compression shorts? Why, thank you! :D Guess I don’t need to worry they’ll tell me I can’t swim without a regular suit on.

3m tempo today. 9/40.
-
Most definitely. I’m an introvert in a job that requires a lot of face time, so the alone time is a requirement for my mental health. 3m tempo run. I was fooled by the sunshine and warmish thermometer reading in the kitchen window, and the wind chill was a surprise. I never really warmed up.

Sooo many meetings today. Totally burned me out. Couldn’t even handle going to the gym and seeing people, so I hid in the basement and rode the bike. I feel better now.

30 minutes on the bike trainer, then rush to shower and eat a snack before a video conference call. Sat down at my desk with three minutes to spare! Which I then used to write this post. :)
