  • Yep, Rub a dub dub there's more room in the tub.
  • Madwife2009 3) I have worn out yet another set of brake pads on my bike. And my saddle is looking decidedly worse for wear. And I need to order new tyres. Perhaps I should just get a new bike . . . but my old bike is so comfortable. We've travelled a long way together over the last 18 months at every speed between 0mph and…
  • Thrift store victory - 4 tops found for $7.47 so much more selection not being in the plus size. 70 plus miles on the bike this weekend. Was so nice to be able to get out three days in a row after our fickle Iowa weather this "Spring".
  • use rules as more as guidelines. For instance the program I was in had the "rule" don't eat after 7 pm. But if I haven't had supper yet I still eat but if I find myself piecing after 7 I tell myself to stop. You have to log your food to lose. I lost most one summer by watching what I ate and being mindful of what I ate and…
  • back from a weeks vacation and scale was actually down. Came back determined to really focus on the eating for the next three weeks as a mini goal. Very large slice of cake served today at our monthly birthday luncheon at work. had three bites and saved the rest to take home to husband.
  • So last Friday I set a goal of either biking or going to gym 3 times this week. This was only reason I went to Gym Monday and did 27 min on elliptical. Yesterday I was off but had a busy day planned so wasn't planning on biking but when we came out of Quilt Guilt meeting and the sun was out and it didn't feel cold like it…
  • Enjoy your birthday. Just don't let one day turn into more and you should be okay. When I first started eliminating certain foods for a while worked until I got into the habit of eating healthier but can now for the most part enjoy them occasionally without completely derailing.
  • I have been heavy so long that I am now out of too small clothes but not yet to my goal so thrift shops and clearance sales are my go to for interim clothing. And a big time shopping spree when I finally get to goal.
  • I wanted to swing by the Kmart tonight to check out closing prices and went to google maps and had to change it from biking mode to car. Seems like I use it more to plan bike rides than driving. Set a goal today to ride 300 miles in April, actually the last three weeks in April as I will be traveling the first week.
  • I have gotten rid of most everything that is too big as I choose to have the mindset that I am not going back. This winter has been a challenge as scale has bounced around 10 pounds or so but not going to let it completely derail me.
  • A funny one. Last night when leaving church I grabbed my coat and headed home. A few minutes later I got a call that I had grabbed my much smaller Aunts coat and had put it on. Hadn't zipped it but had been able to get it on. got a good laugh when I went to trade back.
  • Finally feel like I'm moving the right direction. Braved the wind 20 plus MPH and got three bike rides in over the weekend Friday 25.5 Saturday 19.5 and Sunday 20.5. Wanted to get more in yesterday but wind slowed me down. Did get 95 miles in last week and nearly to 200 for the year. Pretty decent considering weather we've…
  • Finally warm enough and well enough to get some outside rides in Iowa. Was in 50's Monday and close to 60 Tuesday. Rode from home Monday to the bike paths downtown. Was a lot of water on the trail but only encountered one snow/ice covered area and was able to walk through it okay. Tuesday I parked near a trail and rode on…
  • Iowa no longer puts the weight on the license. When they did they would ask you if you wanted to change it and no I don't want to change the weight from what I weighed when I was 16.
  • biked 100 miles this month. We have had above average weather for January the last two weekends. Last weekend I was able to get out twice and this weekend three times. On Friday it was in the 50's but very windy so picked a path were the wind would be mostly at my back. The first part of the trail went northwest so had to…
  • We finally got warm enough weather to take the bike out this weekend. Did the Great Western trail on Friday. When we unloaded at the trailhead the biker returning from his ride said that the trail was too snowy for him and he had turned back after a couple miles. I had planned to ride the whole 17 miles and have husband…
  • Me too so rather than skip entirely I went and walked for 40 minutes.
  • Doing something positive each day. A lot of my exercise is biking. 6000 miles in 20 months. Winter time - try to get to the wellness center every day I work. Today wasn't feeling it as very sore from yesterdays fitness class so went and walked the skywalks for 40 minutes rather than skipping it entirely.
  • You can do this!!. Make good choices today....
  • So my daughter took about 10 bags of stuff to a clothing swap and came back with 4 items so a great step toward decluttering for both of us. Out of the 4 things 3 of them worked for me and currently everything is neatly stored in my closet. I have lots of xl t-shirts mostly from organized bike rides. Next goal is to make…
  • My daughter is going to a clothing swap this weekend so I used that as an excuse to go through my closet again which I had planned to do before the end of the year but had put it off because my weight is up a little after the holidays. I am having second thoughts about one outfit so have until Saturday to get it back from…
  • Starting weight: 260 - May 2016 2018 Starting Weight: 207 Goal weight: 160 Current weight: 207 Total weight lost: This week's successes: Went to exercise class Tuesday. Dumped last of Christmas goodies in trash and gave away Chocolate treat we had been given. This week's challenges: cold weather so no outside biking.…
  • Back in the gym today. 45 minute Fitness Fusion class and then 5 miles on the recumbent bike in 20 minutes. Was -15 this morning so biking outside has to wait awhile. We might get up to 32F on Sunday.
  • Have had the goal of getting to 6000 miles on the bike since I started tracking miles in May 2016. We had an unseasonably warm weekend the first weekend of December and was able to get my 3000 miles done for 2017 but was about 95 miles short of the 6000. Since Saturday we have had 50 degree days so was able to get 21 in…
  • I find I have better success with actually getting rid of things if I start a box and then take it to donate once it is full. If I wait until I have all areas clean then it never happens and I start deciding I need to keep something out of the boxes. Also I am trying to spend 15-30 minutes at a time and decluttering what I…
  • I always say I won't run unless something is chasing me, but I might change my mind if I could run for cheese!
  • Went to wash some windows at our church today so pulled on an old pair of jeans as I was going to go ride after I was done. Had to keep pulling them up and was glad there was no one around to see. Got home and changed as I didn't want to fight with them on my ride. Another pair for the too big pile. I started tracking my…
  • This is good advice. Use the day off constructively. Go through your clothes and find out what fits and what is to small and then determine to start on the journey to better health through losing weight. I started with 22 pairs of pants that were too small and now 50+ pounds later they fit or are gone because they are too…
