  • Morning!! I had a guy tell me I had a fantastically heart-shaped butt and had a body shaped like a guitar...LOL Not used to compliments  And I know it's scale related but not really...for the first time in 7 1/2 years I weigh LESS than my husband. So that's such a huge milestone I'm sharing anyhow.
  • Question to all above who have gotten to their goals. I'm at the lowest weight in 7 1/2 years finally...really seeing some changes. EXCEPT instead of losing smoothly, now I have these pockets of balls of fat (Sorry!!) on my thighs, followed by smooth muscle. It's unsightly...and I'm guessing it's part of my losing…
  • Feel free to add me...I'm a former dancer...love dancing and am taking Zumba along with body pump...knee permitting. But I will say I've absolutely LOVED lifting. I make sure I have the right tunes of course and break things up/mix them up some. I've noticed a big time difference in my body composition versus other times…
  • That's great advice! It's so easy tk get caught up with the numbers...all about how you feel :)
  • Working out this morning, feeling confident enough to not wear my massive sweatshirt. Then having a guy LITERALLY staring/circling me while doing one-arm rows (he was good looking but it was a tad unnerving), then having 2 other guys get benches next to me...in an empty gym and far from the weight rack. And they were…
  • Congratulations :) great job!
  • I'm not actually. It's more that some folks frown on chatting with someone else online. So hence the line. We're both in the boat of having spouses that want to walk, but we're not even meeting until they do. We both have kids & they come first. But thank you...and to my other friends...I will be very careful. But it's a…
  • No judging here please, but I've started talking to a guy online now that my marriage is pretty much over. I sent him some pictures of me (all PG) and he thought I was beautiful. I was truthful about weight and he just thought I had gorgeous, sexy curves. He's really good looking, has a 6-figure job...THIS kind of guy…
  • Love this one!! Noticing mine have gotten higher with bench work, too...hard for a 40 yo w/a D cup *laugh*
  • Continuing to stick to healthy ways to handle my stresses...I still have only had 1-2 small glasses...where before I would've been drinking bottle after bottle of wine, rum, vodka...and binged on tons of food. This time I'm finding healthier ways to handle things, while still stopping to vent/take care of me. At least red…
  • I've had a bad back for years...since I was 13. So 1st of all, warm up. Seriously. Light stretching, low impact to get the blood flowing. Next, mirrors -pay attention to alignment/form in EVERYTHING. A trainer session or PT will help with this. Form is key. Use your core & accessory muscles. Heating pads are your friend,…
  • Congratulations
  • I now have to second this one. I can't do a lot of ab exercises (surgeries, etc) and those I could do I could feel a burn but not see much difference. Been lifting and have noticed a huge difference especially recently with my stomach area. Still have that "c-section pooch" but when I turn sideways I'm noticeably…
  • Today I wore my skinny jeans that were painfully tight at the waist (different pair than before). I threw them on because the others were in the wash, was in a hurry and didn't realize it. I walked around, sat at my son's game for over an hour, drove home...no red marks on my waist. Didn't even realize those were the pair…
  • It's a Small World The Smurfs TV theme Let It Go The theme from Dora the Explorer
  • Thank you. A very long struggle of me putting up with a lot...A LOT...but I'm much stronger now
  • Fantastic work!!! Be proud of those curves
  • Yep...it's made me so bulky my sleep pants fell off me this morning when I got out of bed...and now my jeans are so loose the wind's flapping them against my thighs  Love the lifting! Have had to scale back a bit on the "heavy" because my knee's aggravated, but still doing stuff so I'm treating it like just a…
  • I got out of bed this morning, and my once tight sleeping pants fell OFF me! I have to take them in at the waist. Also, husband dropped the bombshell that he wasn't sure he wanted to stay married to me...and I DIDN'T turn to alcohol or go on a massive food binge. I've still been working out, crying some in private, but no…
  • Yeah, unfortunately it's the gift that keeps giving. Other than surgery, we pretty much get to live with it. I have a friend who got down to a size 2 and her now ex-husband loved to point out how she had a pooch especially with her clothing off (he was obese). You just have to look at your kids, feel it's worth it, lose…
  • Wine is good for you. Dark chocolate is good for you. Cheese is protein. So when I have my wine/cheese/chocolate night I'm actually helping myself out. Or at least that's what I tell myself
  • Oh I'm glad you posted on those...I was wondering about them. I would think the sticky stuff might irritate the skin in the ear...any problems with that? Thanks
  • My husband swears by Tommy Copper knee sleeves and the 2XU compression clothes. I didn't see much difference. That said, plenty of knee/joint issues here. Warming up is key. I do elliptical at fairly low resistance for a good 10-15 minutes until the knee feels like it's going freely. If it's leg day I stop - if arms I…
  • Feel free to add me too...I lift heavy but use bodybuilding.com programs and then modify for the plethora of injuries/issues LOL. I do love lifting, though...had a nice NSV yesterday when a basketball player asked to work in on my plated leg press and he had to take some plates OFF. But yeah, several good lifting groups…
  • It only swells up/acts up when I overdo it, not at "unpredictable" times. I know I'm not able to do certain things because of old injuries, because of my health. It was sitting around eating feeling sorry for myself that partly got me into this mess in the first place. So yes, I do want to push and honestly thought I was…
  • I do some cardio and while my diet isn't perfect I do tend to stay below my calories. I'm tweaking that, though, because I do feel like MFP is overestimating how much I'm burning while working out, but on the days I'm too strict I don't feel particularly good. Like I said I've lost some weight, have quite a bit more to…
  • I actually did read this  I do stretch plenty. It's one of the few things I kept up with after my dancing days. I stretch all the time just because it feels good and relaxes me. I miss being ultra flexible, but...age LOL I do some cardio with the elliptical just to get the heart going without killing the joints.…
  • Holy smokes! Tons of replies  I think I just wanted reassurances that lifting heavy would eventually get me some kind of results...and that the rep difference was the issue versus my doing something wrong. To clarify a few things...I like free weights and machines because I can keep a certain range of motion to…
  • Ok another nsv. I just did my first Zumba class (full vs me doing Zumba at home). My calves were cramping a bit & my knees were achy, but I got through it. I thought I'd have to lose another 20 lbs before even attempting an aerobics class. NSV part deux - I took my sweatshirt off and actually saw a few arm muscles. Focused…
