Hi! I too am mid 50's, and a VMF. Back to MFP again after a battle with cancer that threw any kind of sensible eating out the window every other week. I was in remission for 2 years before it came back last year. I've been watching the scale creep up and need to lose about 12 pounds. Would love to have you as a friend and…

I always use the manual calculation if I have any doubt. Especially if I calculate higher. Have you asked WW if they exclude the veggies in their calculation. I'd go to the source for that kind of question.

It calculates based on the cumulative calories, fat and sugar of the non-zero foods based on their algorithm. For instance, a chicken soup that I buy used to be 5 points for the whole can. It dropped to 4 points after the new freestyle program I guess due to chicken being zero.

I shoot for half my weight in ounces. so... around 75 ounces of water. I do better in anything if I have a goal. I don't drink just to drink but work on staying hydrated. If I hit my goal, all the better. Each day will be different depending on your activity level and the days' weather.

I did WW 17 years ago and lost 38 pounds and made "lifetime" in about 5 months. Kept most of it off, have been on MFP for many years though not consistently. I gained about 10 lbs. back recently and started WW on my own again. The smart points plan works in the sense that it DOES focus your attention on sugar consumption.…

I did WW in 2000 and lost 40+ pounds. Kept it off for 10 years and am within 7 pounds of goal weight still. I looked into the new method they have now and carbs are basically the devil now. I still think in terms of points on some foods, but like knowing the calorie and gram count of foods. MFP is a better life long method…

I've found that it's not the pasta or potato I crave, it's what I pile on top of it... Try making zoodles (zucchini noodles) or spaghetti squash to substitute for pasta. Mock mashed potatoes using cauliflower instead of potatoes. While there is nothing "wrong" with pasta and potatoes, if it is a trigger food for you, it…

I lost 35 pounds with weight watchers 14 years ago and have kept it off. The plan was better then. After the last change, I don't find it as "lifestyle" as it was before. Also, they don't really have a great plan in place for maintenance support. It was frustrating to go to meetings and weigh in and have the clerk tell you…

That's the start. Say it again tomorrow. And the next day, and the next....
