I'm not sure what competitive sport your involved with, when I was at my goal weight 12 years ago, I could eat a whole large pepperoni pizza and maintain my weight. I was cycling 10+ hours a week/150-200 miles a week and working in retail management 8-9 hours a day. I agree with myfelinepal's post gradually increase your…

I was drinking a liter of diet Pepsi a day along with 12-14 cups of coffee. Now, I'm down to 12 oz. of pop/4-5 cups of coffee. I drink more water than ever before (6-10) glasses a day. There are many flavorings for water on the market, drink flavorings and mio. It will offset the taste of the water.

The highest amount of calories I burned was 51 minutes during a spin class which was 1,000 calories. I wore a Polar A5 heart rate monitor and was in the red zone for 40 minutes of the workout with a highest reading of 203 bpm. Never again, I almost had to go to the ER since it took over 5 minutes to get my heart rate down…

When I was a teenager in the 1970s we were fortunate to have Monty Python and Benny Hill on TV. I have to admit, some of the references about sports or politics were difficult to understand still most of those skits were very funny. During that time period, SNL was on along with second city so we were fortunate to have the…

Cardio definitely if you need to drop major weight, weights twice a week(12-15 sets) of basic exercises to maintain muscle and core exercises to complement the two.

Yes, I felt the best, had boundless energy and looked great in my clothes when my BMI was at 25 which for me is 218 lbs.

I have had 3 knee surgeries/2 surgeries on the right with a torn ACL and medial meniscus tear and a medial meniscus tear in my left knee. After the knee surgeries, I did rehab and my physical therapist had me perform isolation exercises without weight. I will never get back to having pain free knees since I have vargas…

I do mostly cardio and I have a 4 sets of dumbbells 10/20/30/40 lbs. and a very old bench. I'm over 50 so my days of building mass are behind me. Focus on basic movements and add an isolation exercise for the back of the arms. I recommend the triceps kickback or the French press to improve the back of the arms.

I'm just amazed at the number of posts of people watching one episode turned off by the show. I have watched since the third season and watch the show for what it is...reality tv. No, I don't agree with the first episode every season watching the contestants run uphill a mile in sand or one contestant leg pressing their…

Short term for rapid weight loss, yes I lost 10 lbs. in 9 days. But, to get back to my healthy lifestyle from 12 years ago I can't go long term if I start cycling 100-150 miles a week. You need carbs to fuel the fire otherwise you start burning muscle mass.
-
In a word..cardio.
-
I was drinking 10-12 cups of coffee a day and now I am down to 5 cups a day. At first I was lethargic now I have more energy as long as I can get cardio in my week. My goal is to be down to 2-3 cups a day.

My initial weight loss was 10 lbs. in 9 days and then I realized that its a lifestyle commitment to diet and fitness. My problem is I need to get back to weighing in once a week/I have better results that way.

Wow! That's amazing!!! If you have a save-a-lot nearby they will have huge markdowns on meat. We were able to buy ground beef for $1.99/lb.
-
You need to fuel the fire otherwise you burning up muscle and your body will react to this by storing fat.

I'm turning 55 in July and I lost 12 pounds since the 1st. You will lose the weight and reach your goal. Stay positive and remember that it's not a sprint to the finish but a marathon. There will be failures and successes along the way but a lifetime of eating right and proper fitness and you will get there.

Cardio is better for weight loss, I would try cycling/swimming easier on the knee. However, before you start I would definitely speak to a specialist possibly an orthopedic surgeon. Don't be frightened by my post, a good orthopedic surgeon recommends surgery as a last resort. Generally, after an initial exam he/she will…

Congrats on your current weight loss. Definitely have a day where you treat yourself but stay within your caloric daily limit. I had a meal at Applebee's yesterday and the caloric value was under 600 calories.

Drink more water with your meals/ have healthy snacks for those pains in your stomach. I have been snacking on halos only 40 calories each and occasionaly an ounce of planters peanuts.
