Get rid of the incline, walk slower, and make sure you have good shoes, not some old worn out pair. Shin splints are most common in beginners, if you don't injure yourself trying too hard they will go away in short time.

Ar you really sure you want to buy a vomitron? I hate mine and don't use it. Thank goodness I got it for free from a friend. In winter I prefer to walk and run. I will happily wait till spring to ride.

I've gotten along just fine all my life without some latest fad fitness tracker. The best thing to buy just may be a food scale if trying to lose weight and/or a digital wrist watch for exercising. Don't expect some fad gadget to actually do much unless you really need an electronic device nagging you to move.

Simple formula for walking; Multiply .30 x your weight x the miles = calorie burn IE; .30 x 200 lbs = 60 x 4 miles = 240 net calories In the example above, if you walk 4 miles in an hour the burn would be 240 and if you walk 5 miles in an hour the burn would be 300 for an hour of exercise. Net calories are your true…

First off, not everyone who is hypertensive reacts to sodium so you will need to do some experimenting. Most of the sodium in our diets comes from processed, packaged, and fast foods. If you can stay more with foods from the meat department and produce department you will have minimal amounts of sodium in your food. This…

Things like the typical tossed salad are so low in calories that even a wild guess is close enough. Most of the calories are in the dressing so be very conscious of what you put on a salad. The dressing can triple or quadruple the calories of the salad.

Not true. Prolonged starvation causes organ failure and death, not weight gain.

Bingo, the question was walking or running. The fact is that running will have a much higher rate of injury than walking regardless of some posters trying to obfuscate the fact with over analyzing.

Many, I have no idea the number.

1,696 runners reported 272 injuries in a 6 week period which has little relevance to injuries over a year's time. Should we multiply that 6 week number to a 52 week number? That potentially could be 1,696 runners reporting 2,357 injuries in a year's time. 272 divided by 6 weeks times 52 weeks = 2,357 Of course some runners…

The most oft quoted source is the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation although I haven't seen the study. Apparently you must be a member. Lots of articles refer to this statistic and from this source. Nevertheless, it is accepted that 100% of running injuries are caused byrunning! I am a runner myself…

A lot of disagreement on the risks of artificial sweeteners. Due to this many companies are eliminating NutraSweet from their products. Whether bad or not, it is unnecessary to have in your diet and sugar is also unnecessary. I play it safe and use no artificial sweeteners and very little sugar. I stick with honey, maple…

Love pickled eggs in beet juice also.

Eat more and follow the MFP calorie goals. How did you become 30 pounds overweight if you can't eat? Doesn't compute.

Most everyone already has a six pack, the only way to make it visible is to reduce body fat to a very low percentage. There are no special foods.
-
You need to eat more if your are accurately logging your food. At your weight, 1,200 calories isn't enough, you WILL crash and burn.
-
Fitbit and the others aren't really calorie trackers. They are a glorified pedometer which uses some programming to estimate calories burned.
-
Do whatever you want but be aware that statistically 70% of runners are injured annually. Walking is much easier on your limbs.
-
Eat whatever you want, calories are calories. Eat what you enjoy within your calorie goals.

Broth is mostly zero calorie water. Just make it yourself and pick a calorie count from a package.

Whatever music you like. I prefer podcasts on subjects that are of interest to me. Exercise my mind and body at the same time.

Go for a walk.

I track every day. It gets easier in time. People are creatures of habit and tend to eat the same things regularly. When you start typing in an entry it will pop up previous similar entries. Eventually the things you regularly consume will only take seconds to log.

Doesn't your profile indicate that your goal is to lose 67 pounds and you have lost 7 pounds so far? I didn't create your profile.

Define "healthy eating"? In order to lose weight you must consume less calories than you burn. Exactly what you eat, healthy or not, is irrelevant to weight loss. Have patience, it does take time. If you open your diary some can comment on your eating habits and logging accuracy.
