The nutritionist I went to last year suggested I do the 5:2 diet. I lost 20lbs on my own before my appointment with her, tried it her way and gained 15 back. My point is sometimes you know what works best when it comes to you. Part of this journey is figuring it out. Good luck.

My go to meal when I'm uninspired, at the moment, is salmon and kale. I put the kale in a big bowl with butter, nuke it a minute, throw a plate of salmon on top of bowl which kind of works as a steamer for the kale and continue nuking for a minute 30sec and hope the salmon doesn't explode. I don't want to think about food…

Lol ljohnson. As a mother of 4, nope, no, nopeity nope no.

Omg, my dad raises cattle and you're going to tell me what they feed cattle. They are fattened before slaughter with grain. If left to their own devices they graze on grass and their salt lick. Not man made grains. I'm out of here, there's no reasoning with CICO's.

On a side note, my mother has a corgie that she loves, loves, loves. He got real fat as he aged and could barely get around. After two hip surgeries he was put on a paleo diet, no more dog crunchies or bagged dog food and guess what, that dog lost a ton of weight, like a whole dog amount of weight. So, in short,…

I'm excited for everybody completing their January goals! I know I feel like a new person compared to 35 days ago. Hugs and hope to see you all at the new group. <3

Read this before listening to "our brains run on glucose" argument. http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/mind-guest-blog/2013/10/01/the-fat-fueled-brain-unnatural-or-advantageous/

Wow, completely missing the point again I see.

Lol, you won't get the keto flu as long as you are getting enough salt, magnesium. I rarely go over 50g carbs and believe me, I'm not starving.

It worked for me and I'll tell you how. I was eating 1200 cals, as recommended by mfp, and I was hungry, angry, miserable, tired and couldn't sustain it. Upped my calories by 50 every week until I reached a point where my weight was slowing to a stall. Then, and only then did I start eating 50 cals less each week. I'm…

Love me some Richard Simmons. I think I will try this too. I wish someone had results though. I think I will try this for 30 days and post results. Congratulations on your impending marriage :)

Yeah, I don't hit that button anymore, when I'm done I'm done.

Try asking in a keto or low carb forum/group, those guys can help you out. Personally I have a nutri-bullet and add 1tbsp of coconut oil to each cup of coffee in the morning, keeps you full, if you go this route, build up to 1 tbsp, don't start there. The rest of the day is meat, vegtables and berries.

Make some hot herbal tea and take a hot bath. Pamper yourself. If you're still hungry, eat.

Maybe have some fruit lovely, I've been eating berries and although I went over 50 on carbs yesterday (8oz blueberries~ a lot!!) It's completely been a game changer. I feel great, my scale this morning said 138.4! I go by my afternoon weight, but I'd be lying if I said that didn't feel good to see. Blueberries and…

Thanks SteamClutch!!

As LeenaGee says, please join us. I've lost 30lbs eating paleo and found the above group early on, they were very supportive and have answered many questions I've had along the way.

It does, thanks for responding. I'll look up that cream on Amazon :)

This will sound boring but stick with the following vegtables: Vegetables That Are Low In Sugar Alfalfa sprouts Asparagus Avocado Bamboo sprouts Bean sprouts Beet greens Bell pepper (sweet green) Broccoli Brussels sprouts Cabbage — all kinds Carrot Cauliflower Celeriac (celery root, knob celery) Celery Collard greens…

Good morning, hope everyone has a pleasant day. I'm up and at it early today, for no particular reason but am excited to say I'm signing the family up for membership at the YMCA. I've been agonizing over this since December because I'm not really a gym user but my husband really benefits from it (he's a fidgety kind of…

Pizza and beer.

Lol, vhuber, who would have thought paleo would kick you out of menopause. That's crazy!

I posted a comment to you on the paleo/primal group. I sure hope others can help you out with some of your concerns.

I'll be here, I'd volunteer also but my app and online accounts won't sync and I'm afraid to delete the app and reinstall for fear I will lose all my tracking going back to late July of last year. But you know I'll be here commenting, lol :)

Well, that sounds miserable. If I were you, I'd ride it out with the allergist and if you get no relief lay off the meds and do a whole 30, this includes the above but also cutting out nightshades. Speaking for myself, being paleo for 3 months on and 3 months off last year, I definitely noticed in my joints, muscles and…

Well, this is the most awesome thing I've read all week.

...igniting your paleo diet. I plan on staying true to paleo but incorporating almond flour, etc, more baking but also some kind of kefir/yogurt.

This group really helped in getting me back on track but with the founder deactivating her account... bit of a bummer that. I vote for a fresh start in February, another whole 30 and/or re

Stick to dark reds, merlot, cabernet and everything else for the day either fats or protien. Once a week and don't over do it. Works for me.
