It depends on the box. I'm at a supportive, wonderful box with non psycho people who do not push any kind of orthodoxy - everyone just really likes working out. I've been doing it for over a year and it's changed my life. I used to throw my back out tying my shoes. 24 lbs and a lot of muscle building later, I can deadlift…

Thank you everyone!

5'5". Thank you!

I've dropped two pants sizes in two months doing crossfit, and the scale is barely budging, after an initial loss. It's muscle. If you were sedentary before and doing crossfit now, you are putting on TONS of muscle. How else would inches disappear and the scale not change? Take measurements.

Blergh- rough weekend, and I ate a ton of salt and drank a ton of booze. Back at the gym this morning up 1.6 SW- 229 Challenge starting weight- 223.8 Today's weight- 225.4 GW by holidays-200 I'm trying not to get mad at myself. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

Starting weight as of this morning: 225.4 10%=22.5 lb GW= 202.9

This is a perfect goal for me! I want to go slowly, and this seems like a doable thing. I will start with you tomorrow. 10% off should be around 25 lbs (I will do an official starting weight at the gym tomorrow) which will also get me really close to below 200. I turn 30 on January 11 and I want to be below 200 lbs by then!

I'm just starting again after gaining more than I lost. Height: 5'5" CW: 226.2 GW: 150

I've been off gluten for several years. For me, pain in my hands, arms, and legs are a signal I've been "glutened". I also get terribly anxiety, digestive issues, dry skin, etc.

Hi everyone- I am also back after falling-hard- off the wagon. I am 28 and live in NY. Please feel free to add me!

That may work. Thanks for the idea! I hate to slow my progress but this might make it more sustainable.

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and reasonable response. I so appreciate it.-! I will definitely add you. And thank you, everyone else for your help and ideas. This is so hard!

Thank you all! I am so excited.

I agree! None of us would be on this forum if support weren't helpful. I've had people in my life work to derail me in the past because of their own issues, and I hope that talking to others with similar goals will help with motivation!
-
Thanks! I hope we can support each other!
-
SO much. Thank you! It's hard to sort through what is "ok" and isn't between all of the diet types I've seen. We can do this together, I hope!
-
So just to get a baseline, I weighed myself - I have decided not to do it again until next month. 223. Not as bad as I thought, but still not where I want to be. Yikes.

Oh that is amazing. I actually am gluten and lactose intolerant (but I tolerate yogurt). One of my major goals is to cut out gluten substitutes (the Udi's bread, the gluten-free corn pasta, etc). My body tends to function better and I lose more weight when my carbs come from veggies and fruits instead of processed…
-
Add me! I need the same. We can do this. I really don't have the motivation every day and I am hoping this community can help with that!
-
I could cry I am so happy and overwhelmed with the support. Thank you all!

Thanks to all 3 of you! I really appreciate it. It is so hard to start. I know it will be even harder to keep going.
