Interesting. Understanding more about what he is going through and what to expect helps. Some of the crazy stuff he comes up with you think that he couldn't really believe that. But he does. Learning some techniques to get him to do something and not get upset is a big deal. And with any group realizing there are others…

Started going to a dementia group to understand better what is happening with my now elderly father. It's interesting.

And even peace of mind too :)

For the next four weeks - finish work and bill it. Repeat.

Something tells me some of these ingredients might be rare in Honduras.

Just trying to get work done in this busy season. (US tax season)

That's good progress. It is hard to get better.

The idea behind that goes back into the Hebrew text of leavening being related to the contamination of the world in our religious life. So cleaning out all the leaven before Lent? Might as well use it up. Hence Shrove Tuesday.
-
No that's not the point of Lent at all. The point of Lent is to deny oneself some things of this world in order to simplify life and spend the time focusing on God.

Yep. Have to use bear bags out there.

Steve Arterburn's book Lose It For Life deals with these issues. It certainly has a Christian focus. But the premise is that we have to deal with the underlying emotional issues that we inappropriately deal with through eating and lose those issues before we can really be successful in losing weight and keeping it off.…

As I work hard to get stronger and to lose weight my body changes make for interesting challenges. Some things hurt more due to workouts. I deal with cramps more often which impact"the mood". There's less belly in my way which is good. I have more energy except for the times that a workout wipes me out. Keeps things…

Sore today after the hike!

Oops
-
Took the Philmont crew out to hike with full packs. I'm around 30 lbs full. Whole different experience than walking the dog on the road. Worn out after six hours on the trail. About four actually hiking and lots of elevation changes on a rocky path. About 40F with wind chill making it feel below freezing on the ridges.

Yes that's true. It's taken me a long time to understand what I was doing so that I could learn healthier behaviour
-
Got home from church last night ready for bed. But I put on the headphones listening to the local university basketball game and did 3.5 miles at a 3 mile per hour pace with the dog.

With my weight loss I'm having some blood pressure issues. I'm still a big guy with lots to lose. But my bp is low and bending over and raising up quickly can make the whole world spin.
-
Busier Ugh But I worked in an hour walk yesterday.
-
My wife has been ill. Hope I don't catch it. Work is too busy right now
-
Get a salad Just say no. Bring your own Fix everyone lunch/dinner on your terms Use a small plate Go for a long walk before dinner to suppress appetite
-
Well I'm working hard to get the crew ready and I'm doing all the hiking and climbing to get in shape. But I'm not going to make the Philmont weight chart requirement. I'm stuck after losing 140 pounds over 3 years and there just isn't enough time to drop the rest without stupid/dangerous diet restrictions. So I'll keep…

4 miles per hour is a good pace

Tax season And I opened my own practice two months ago. Things are getting busy with the major US deadlines starting to hit in four weeks.

So don't waste time watching tv. Do something else.
