Is there a compromise? Maybe you can walk or swim the extra distance without additional risk of injury?

I know you don't want advice, but... ...ahhh nevermind.

I'm a runner, currently putting in about 30 - 35 miles a week. I do some bodyweight exercises (abs, upper body) about twice a week to balance the running. I am not skinny fat; I am lean and very fit. I have great lower body muscle definition, striated biceps and nicely developed abs. I also don't have any running friends…

First, I would consult your doctor or physical therapist for options since you have major health considerations.

My most affordable, convenient lower calorie foods are: Oatmeal - buy the big tub and flavor it yourself (sweet or savory) Tuna Canned broth-based soups Pickles Any clearance or sale fresh fruit or vegetables A giant bag of potatoes or instant mashed Jarred pasta sauce Frozen or canned veggies Eggs Chicken sausages Beans…

How long have you been lifting? How long has the scale not moved? (I think these are the same time frame based on your post, but want to confirm.)

Basic recipe as above, but some extra ideas are: Jalapenos (just pour a whole jar with juice into pickling liquid) Beets canned or fresh - makes pink eggs Onion Tumeric...beautiful yellow eggs Citrus and zest in place of some vinegar - lemon & dill is great! Fresh hot or sweet peppers Olives Hard cheese cubes Carrots…

I have a TV, but I don't have cable or dish. I don't have any portable kitchen appliances, not even a toaster. I don't have a hair brush (I'm a curly girl!) I don't have anything that doesn't either have a purpose or bring me joy. I don't have lots of anything, but I have plenty.

Old fashioned oats with just a sprinkling of brown sugar. It is my breakfast everyday.

Meeeee, too! I ran about 12 miles on Sunday morning before dawn - it was 16 degrees F before wind-chill. I can't imagine being cooped up in a gym for hours with the same scenery.

I can relate from a runner's perspective. We cannot become complacent as we risk injury or death. I was 4" from being hit just a few weeks ago and it is terrifying. Middle of the day, wearing flashers and light colored gear, using the sidewalk, no adverse weather, but the driver just wasn't looking for pedestrians as they…

I don't let others pressure me into eating foods I do not want to. This is especially critical for me over the holidays since treats and decadent dinners are in abundance.

Fear is a great motivater...embrace it!

I often just snack for meals. Some options beyond celery sticks: I use fat free cream cheese and/or greek yogurt as a base for dips and spreads. I use lo carb wraps (since they are lower in calories) for pinwheels, quesadillas, etc... You can also crisp them in the oven to use as dippers. Roasted veggies can be poppable -…

My daughter was 2 years old and 5i was pregnant with her brother. We were talking about growing bigger. Her arms were growing, she was getting taller, etc. We talked about how my baby belly was growing bigger and she says 'and your butt is growing'. Oh my!

On the opposite end if the spectrum - I got a bag of chips out of the vending machine and an overweighted coworker told me 'you're not allowed to have that since you've lost weight'. None of your business! I shouldn't have responded, but I did: 'I am maintaining at a BMI of 20 and work out 6 days a week. I'll eat a 140…

Sending lots of positive mojo your way... you've got this!!!

You aren't losing weight because you're not eating enough. Eat more and you'll start losing. Horrible.

Hi! Welcome 😀

Welcome! I eat it all without restrictions, except calorie count. Certainly I choose foods that I consider healthy, but that is a very personal definition. Start by reading the posts about getting started at the beginning of the forums. Log all your food, everything! and stay within your calorie allotment. Just stick to…

You could also check out the volume eaters thread on here. There are good ideas for lower calorie substitutions so you get to eat more food within your calorie allotment. That may help you feel fuller. (I'm on my phone so I'd appreciate it if someone could share the link to it)
