So will the pain in my ankles and calves start getting easier? I'm wearing good running shoes I was fitted for to correct over pronation.

Good to know. I guess I need to get outside more instead of in the gym! I can't wait for spring!

That's the thing. I don't even really like chocolate that much. Hardly ever eat it. I'm not a sweets guy (pizza and burgers are my poison). But the last couple days, I've just been craving sweets. Finally, I went for it. At first I was gonna just eat the ears. Then the head. Then... Eff it, this guy's going down. Still…

With golf, I was assuming ladies tees were employed.

I look at exercise as putting my skin in the game. If I overeat, all that exercise was wasted effort.

I'm starting with a warrior dash. It seems to be the baby pansy version of obstacle racing.

I'm still exploring my options. As a longtime fat kid, I avoided athletics like the plague. I like yoga so far. I really want to get into some outdoor hobbies, like hiking, rafting, and trail running. Im gonna get a bike this summer and try that. I'm toying with the notion of trying a triathlon next summer...

In most sports, men just have an insurmountable size advantage. All other things being equal, size usually wins. Running? Every stride a taller male takes eats up more ground. A shorter woman has to take x number more strides to cover the she ground. Martial arts? The larger man has a reach advantage, and is probably more…

I gave my wife a chocolate bunny for easter. The little *kitten* was still sitting in the house, mocking me. I say was, cause I ate him today.

I usually have 4 to 5k by the time I leave work at 2pm. I usually finish in the 8 to 10 K range.

Did anyone else think "that's what she said"?

I get a couple hundred steps, if I wear it on the proper arm.
-
I would think the hip abduction machine could be fun.

As the others mentioned, strength train. As for cardio, I agree, the hamster wheel gets old. Try to find something that can become a hobby. Biking, running, hiking, boxing, whatever. Helps make it a true long term lifestyle change.

I've had mine about a month, and it works well for me. It collects my actual calories burned from day to day activities. And for workouts, It allows me to easily track calories burned. I have found it just as accurate as the readouts from the cardio machines. You do have to wear it properly, high on the arm.

Unfortunately, I have no spotter. :\

This morning, I woke up DOMS free from my lift yesterday. Then i pushed longer than usual on the eliptical. Tonight, at yoga, I was able to actually straighten my leg for the first time. Good day.

I love my charge hr. It is always within a couple bpm of the gym equipment. I got my heart rate up into the 160's today and it never missed a reading. Most of the reports of gross inaccuracy and failed readings are, IMHO, people who aren't wearing it correctly.

Try meetup (either app or website). I just joined yesterday, and already have a group in going hiking with tomorrow. There are groups in my area for hiking, biking, camping, backpacking, paddling, climbing, and I'm sure another two dozen "fit kid" activities. Give that a try.

If I'm just going for cardio, I go commando at the gym. If I'm doing yoga or bench, can't do that lol.
-
I have the fitbit charge hr. I love it. It is reasonably accurate and tracks all day, unlike a polar.

Depends on you. Some people find the community accountability aspect of a gym helpful. I have been going to my gym less than a month. When I walk in, people first bump me and say "you're doing great." Some people find convenience more important. Personally, I like the variety available at the gym. A dozen different cardio…

Hell, I don't even like to wear my glasses on the scale. Of course, I can't read the display without them.
-
I have several different pizza places in my phone.

Subway, Chuck fill a, zaxbys. My favorite is newks. Not really fast food, but I love thier salads.
-
Here is what I do. I add the exercise into mfp, being careful to put the correct time parameters, and using the calorie burn from the fitbit. It then removes said calories from your adjustment.
-
I wear mine three to four fingers above the wrist bone, as recommended, and it works fine. Also pretty tight. The only issue I have with it is sometimes, during large spikes, like during hiit, it won't get a reading at all for a bit.
-
Is your fitbit using heart rate? If so, I'd go with that. If not, I'd take the lower of the two.

I'm 6'4" currently 280, have been as high as 315. Thank God im tall, gives me a place to spread all that lard around!
