I have to echo this. By increasing my protein and fat intake, I generally don't get hungry.

all of my clothes are now size 14/16 -- including denim shorts and bathing suits!!! I have work people stop me often to compliment me!

I have found buying new clothes to be an incredible ego boost. New clothes were needed as I dropped from a 22/24 to an 18/20 and now to a 14/16. I also find that with my new size, I like to wear everything much tighter to my body. I bagged and donated more than 10 BAGS of old clothes! Also, I had a cool experience when…

Hi everyone! I'm Eileen, 51 from CT, USA. I'm divorced and remarried, with my 9th anniversary coming up next month. I have 3 "kids" -- 23, 21 (special needs) and 19 and i have a 17 year old step-daughter. I started this life-changing journey at the end of the summer 2013. The impetus was portraits that my husband and I had…

Add me too! I've had my fitbit charge HR for about a week -- and I LOVE it. https://www.fitbit.com/user/3G4B4V

in 18 months I have lost 45 pounds. I only started MFP in late December/early January
-
making the decision to do this is, almost, the hardest part!! Use MFP's guidelines, log everything and you will see that you start looking at food in a different way. My best tips -- make regular time to exercise, get a trainer at a gym if you can afford it (this will help with motivation and accountability -- and they…

I just joined your group. I turned 51 in April. Over the past 18 months, I have lost 45 pounds. I joined MFP in December when I got my first activity band. Looking forward to "meeting" all of you!

I have photos that were taken of me in the summers of 2012 and 2013. NOT good! I use them for inspiration each day of this journey. In fact, the biggest "atta girl" came from my husband who one day last week noticed that his office desk has NO recent pictures of me -- and that I now look quite different (down from…

my weight loss has been in stages. Total weight lost so far over 18 months is 45 pounds. I lost 25 of that with my first trainer, then hit a plateau for about 6 months. I started with a new trainer in January and have dropped another 20 since then. Went from a size 22 (almost 24) to a 14/16 - and even my denim shorts are…

I've changed my macros according to where my trainer wants me to be. Right now it's 45% protein, 30% carbs, and 25% fat. That protein goal is really tough -- but I'm trying!
-
best suggestions....drink lots and lots of water, up your protein and fat -- these will keep you fuller longer. And, if you are strength training, the protein will help build muscle. I've gone fairly low carb -- almost no bread/flour/pasta -- and feel much better for it.

my husband ordered mine directly online from fitbit. We tried Best Buy and other stores around here but none had the fitbit charge HR in stock. He was given a 3-4 week delivery window.

I'm getting the Fitbit Charge HR for Mother's Day. It's on order and i can't wait until it gets here!!! I had a vivofit and loved the step-counter and sleep graphs. Since I lost my vivofit, I decided to upgrade to a model with a HR monitor. I never eat back my exercise calories, so while calories burned is "interesting",…

I've worked with a personal trainer for 18 months. My first trainer was a tremendous motivator for me -- always knowing when to push me to give just that little bit more -- and knowing when I really had no more to give. She worked with me to make some major dietary tweaks. I worked with her for just over a year. I started…

I'm getting one for mother's day and can't wait!!!! Since losing my vivofit, I made the decision to replace it with an upgraded activity band. I'm looking forward to getting back to logging my step count and this time being able to track my heart rate during cardio sessions.

Why? What is wrong with having an Oreo or two if they want it?[/quote] for many people, it is NEVER just one or two oreos....I think she mentioned way back that those 4 packages of oreos would be gone in a matter of days. I will say that oreos (and other brands of cookies) are real triggers for me. I have NO self control,…

one thing I've done towards reducing the size of my stomach -- in conjunction with diet and cardio -- is core and ab work. As i lose weight, my torso has been tightened and pulled in and I've trimmed through there.
-
not getting that, but I really miss my Vivofit....I wore it from December to just about a week ago when it fell off (I think it fell off and was flushed down the toilet, LOL). With mother's day coming I asked for a Fitbit Charge HR. I can't wait for it to come in!!!!

I switched out soda (diet and regular) for water with crystal light mixed in. I drink my 24 oz water bottle three times or more per day.

my *kitten* and my legs...both are seriously slamming!
-
keep the doritoes and other trigger foods out of the house.
-
i have found that we eat out very little now. there are SO many hidden calories as well as sodium. I still feel bloated from my dinner out on Saturday night. Also, if you're like me, there are so many triggers -- another piece of bread, having an appetizer or dessert -- and it all adds up. I think we go out about 1-2 times…

I've bought these at Target. They make a chocolate salted caramel bar that is REALLY good!

what a great idea!

I would recommend just jumping in and doing it. I belong to a gym and finally took a class with one of their fitness trainers. SO glad that I did. After that class, I then turned around and signed up for 4 more of them....I also have found that when some of the things were difficult to do, I just jogged in place....One of…

have you invested in new, tighter clothing? I find that now that I'm wearing things much tighter on my body (and 3 sizes smaller) everyone seems to be noticing. I've lost 43 pounds and am down from a 22 to a 14/16 in most things. Keep up the weight loss. It will take the longest for the people you see every day to notice…

my "why" is a direct result of a summer vacation trip that my husband and I took in 2013. We went to a resort where they take your pics and then you can buy them. I knew I had put on weight, but those pics REALLY brought it home. A few weeks after that I hired a personal trainer -- and haven't stopped since then. I use…

My Upholder score was 5....

I keep protein bars in the house for after my workouts. This way, if I'm hungry, I don't bang out too many calories and it helps me hit my protein macro. Also, I've started snacking on packages of grape tomatoes....about 100 calories per container (about 24 tomatoes)....just enough to hold me until dinner.
