I'm also looking for more active friends!

Jump rope. Good workout, doesn't require a gym.

Agree about going to the doc. I have struggled with asthma. Tried to tough it out and ended up sounding like a flock of migrating geese when I ran. The doc and the asthma doc found some meds that work for me. Now I run like a champ with only a hint if wheezing if I'm literally running through a field of ragweed. I'm pretty…

I've started losing weight since I started training for a marathon. The running didn't make much difference when I was running 8 miles total per week but when I worked up to three 3 mile runs and one 12 mile run per week, holy crap! My results have been impressive. 4 lbs and 2 inches off my stomach has been my best single…

I've gone from drinking beer 5 days a week to once a month. Not surprisingly, it's so much easier to control my waistline now!

I'm always looking for more active friends

Espresso. Espresso is my diet drink B)

It'd be measurable, but trivial and temporary (like just a couple of days). Stay away from trans fats and you'll be fine :) If you are really concerned about keeping low cholesterol levels keep your long term sugar intake low. That's a bigger culprit for high cholesterol but for whatever reason people don't talk about it…

I could use some more friends!

I always bring a random flavor of oikos triple zero yogurt for my breakfast snack. At 15g of protein per cup it's a win! My afternoon snacks usually involve some form of salad with a couple of walnuts and almonds to keep it interesting.

You can totally get results at home. The two bests exercises for you will be chinups and deadlifts.

What is BS is this uneducated knee jerk response. There are a whole range of possible health issues that could cause OP's problem ranging from a hyper thyroid to a bad gallbladder. The best response was the first one of getting blood work done and going from there.

Add me! I'm really active on here this time of year. I can help motivate ☺

I'll second the family history observation. I have asthma so for me smoking was definitely worse than being overweight. On the occasions that I fell off the wagon it would take a full 1:30 off my miles times during my morning jogs. Being overweight never bugged me at all (at least physically - mentally I hated looking in…

I have similar problems quite often. In my experience, it's the extreme lows that trigger the binges. If your tdee is 1600 and you shoot too far beneath that your body will fight you and try to force you back up. You should look at your total calorie intake by week and month. Then the binges will make more sense - it's…

It's judging calorie burn by heart rate and weight. Where it goes wrong is that it assumes you are in great shape (cardio wise). If you're out of shape the calorie burn it tells you is wildly high. I'd agree with the don't eat more than half that amount if not even less. Now if you run 5 miles a day every day then I'd…

Feel free to add me guys. I'm not quite on the keto diet but I'm pretty close to it
-
Ha Ha! I know how that goes!
-
Good luck! With how much you're exercising now don't forget to take measurements as well as stepping on the scale. You might start off looking a little smaller but not actually losing weight due to muscle gain.

Add me!
-
I use a standing desk myself. Then I run 1.5 miles after work.
-
For me it depends. With no exertion I'm fine with 6.5. On lifting days I need 7.5 - 8 and on the Saturdays that I ride my bike for 4 or 5 hours I end up needing 9 hours to feel ok.
-
I do both. I jog and stretch at home and lift at the gym
-
I do lunch right after lifting. My heavy lifting day lunch is always either beef stew or just plain pot roast and 2 or 3 cups of fairlife milk.
-
Yes! Drink throughout the day! Just be careful on the stairs later

Actually, I would recommend quitting green tea extract. Green tea itself is good and will help you lose a pound here or there over the long haul. If it's replacing soda it will help you lose a lot of weight due to removing calories from your diet. Green tea extract, however, can be hard on your liver. I personally wouldn't…

Didn't say it was magical. More like one of many pieces available for a healthy lifestyle. I would put green tea right underneath water: each one you drink is a soda you are not drinking. You guys are missing the point here. If someone is doing something that has a minor effect on their metabolism and a major effect when…

2 lbs over 3 months. Stretch that out over a year and that matters. A lot of people on here are way too extremist for my taste. A weight loss method is not a failure just because it doesn't make you lose 2 or more lbs a month.
-
So many people out here keep saying that there is no evidence that green tea helps with weight loss. smh. Does google not work for people?! Here's a link to an abstract of a 2009 study: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19597519 For people who don't like to read really bland research papers, multiple studies have found…
