Thank you @MobyCarp and @WhatMeRunning for the articles and explanation. I've saved them and I'm going to read them later.

@MNLittleFinn Thanks but any other distance and you’d be lapping me. @MobyCarp Thanks for reminding me I need to have more picture runs where I just relax and take in the scenery. @9voice9 Congrats on first in your AG! @juliet3455 Great finishing push and AG place and PB! @ louubelle16 Thank you! I know I can run a sub 20…

@ Orphia That’s some serious air you got there! Love the Lenny tribute pic! @ girlinahat I think it’s a sign that those should be your new running shoes. @ cburke8909 Congrats on signing up for your first HM and for joining the short list of crazy people who pay to be tortured. It’s a form of S&M really. LOL! @ HRKinchen…

@lporter229 I wanted to thank you for your advise back awhile ago about mixing in tempo,mp pace into my routine runs at random intervals. It's helped me break up my longer runs when I remember to do it. @juliet3455 Good luck on your cold wet 10K. That looks a little miserable and the only reason I'd run in that is if it…

Great racing @_nikkiwolf_ @KeepRunningFatboy @girlinahat !!!! Hope the knee's alright @_nikkiwolf_ You're stronger than me. If that happened to me I would have shut it down. I'm not very diligent on posting on here. Basically I got 28.7 miles this week. I'm shooting for 100 miles this month. I also got some new shoes,…

@MNLittleFinn Thanks, we'll see. I wish I was where you're at though (almost done with training and getting into tapper mode and getting excited to run it). I know you're ready!! Way to fight through the couple obstacles (sickness and injury) that you've overcome in the couple months I've been on here. You're doing great!…

@MNLittleFinn That does look nice! From what I understand from talking to runners that have run marathons is you want a course that mixes up and down hills so you're not fatiguing one leg muscle group. I'm going to have to strengthen my quads for the constant cycling of basically catching myself with my legs going down…

Thanks @MNLittleFinn! I've been thinking about getting a watch. I'll have to ask on here for opinions when I get serious about buying one. It would be much nicer than carrying my phone and having it fly out of my hands when they get sweaty. Oh yeah, here's the elevation profile for the Peak to Creek marathon. Maybe I can…

Running has been feeling like a drag. I think it was from increasing my mileage too much. That was a well timed post @lporter229 about sacrificing other activities just to get the miles. Thank you! I'm getting back to yoga and lifting this month and on. I Signed my daughter and me up for a 5k on the 13th. I made her do…

I rarely have to, but I just turn left (right for non-US) at an intersection and go against traffic until there's an opening then cross that lane then run the median and do the same for the other lane. I know it's a little dangerous and illegal, but it also adds some excitement and breaks up the run.

Lol! Thanks for that link @7lenny7 "So yeah, maybe it is a good thing to have goals. Mine’s to not die like an *kitten*."

@Stoshew71 -Congratulations! great job running and adjusting your race for bad conditions.

If it were me, I'd start with the 2 hr pacer and stay with them for the first 5 miles or so. Then, if all's good physically and mentally, over the next five work to the 1:55 pacer. At the 10 mile mark, see what you got. Can you push the last 3.1, maintain, or drop it down a gear. That's just me though. Good luck on your…

I'm going for 100 comfortable safe miles. I'm going to go for more hills to up my speed since I have a bunch of short races this summer.
-
@7lenny7 I'm sorry to hear. I'll be praying for you and your family. I hope your Mother in law is comfortable.

@MobyCarp Good point about maybe the shoe causing some pain and injuries. This is probably also a good reason to have different pairs of shoes to diagnose if it's the shoe causing pain or injury. Thank you! @JessicaMcB Thank you for the comparison between the Guide's and Kinvara's. I have a slight pronation according to my…
-
@MobyCarp Thank you for replying. That's a great idea having a offset rotation of the same shoe in different colors. I might do that and buy some more of the Saucony Guide 10's but I think before I do I might try on the Kinvara's. I've seen and heard a lot of people like them. The Guide 10's feel good now but at first they…

Ah ha! That makes sense with the different angles of drop. Thank you @MNLittleFinn

@_nikkiwolf_ Congratulations and great running! I love that medal and shirt!! @MobyCarp You're running in the USATF Masters 10k Championship in a week!!? Man! That's quite a feat 2 weeks after Boston!! I hope your quad feels better. @MNLittleFinn You're going to end up signing up for the "Death Race" I just know it! LOL!…

@KatieJane - I'm going into it thinking the same. It's a "OK, I did that, but not again" thing for me. I plan to do a HM in September so I hope that at least gets me close to be able to slow run the marathon. I'll be trying to keep up with your mileage the closer it gets to October. I'm no expert on fitness by any measure…
-
@Elise4270 -Thanks! I like this forum. I learn a lot from all the experienced runners. Now only if we could have a searchable archive of all this great knowledge! @KatieJane83 - K, that works! Are you going to follow a training plan or wing it? My goal is to just finish the damn thing with my body still functioning. :/…

HA ha! Ok, sorry. Thank you Lenny for approving me!! Love the pic BTW!

@Elise4270 Thanks for letting me into the Strava MFP group. I didn't even know about Strava, I was on MMR. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the nutrition info everyone! I've never run long enough to feel like I need it. I'm going to need it later on in the year though. I plan to sign up for the Peak to Creek (May 1) Marathon…
