  • Nice work! You can definitely see a great difference!
  • TJ Max, Marshalls, Burlington, Outlet stores...try and get some of the better name brands and find what works for you. Then invest in a couple of good pairs to rotate. I had a hard time finding brands that weren't too tight on my calves. I love my Athleta tights...they are spendy though so I get them on sale, they do last…
  • If you feel good in them...do it! But, I have seen them on girls where it does highlight and emphasise the privates...maybe not the look they were going for? I have to believe they look in the mirror but after working out the compress more around the tops of the thighs? ALSO....why do some of them totally go in between the…
  • Nice work! I have not been able or interested to worry about consecutive days but definitely don't plan on giving up MFP ever. I come and go a little bit but am down 45 lbs from my high around 8 years ago. would love to lose another 20-30 but my life has changed dramatically from those 45 lbs. Hiking vacations where I have…
  • It is hard to give up carbs and sweets! I go back and forth and am as of today, trying again. I had two soft boiled eggs for breakfast, will have an apple for a snack and have a protein bar (only 1 g of sugar but 18 carbs) that I am nibbling on when I have sweet cravings. Plan on a big salad for lunch with veggies and…
  • I just had an awesome hiking vacation...Zion national park for 2 days and Bryce Canyon one day. It was amazing and there are a large variety of hikes depending on your abilities. You could easily see a lot with just short hikes in both parks OR longer ones depending on what you are up for. We hiked about 8 miles one day…
  • so glad you liked it! Yoga is great for your mind and body!
  • Congratulations! Doesn't that feel great???!
  • When I travelled for work, I would "splurge" on expensive fruits and veggies and prepared foods....low cal and easy to track. for example I would have a lunch that was chicken (already cooked and diced), rasberries and some other fruit or veggie. Restaurant meals are definitely more difficult...I don't think you get much…

  • I would under state it...call yourself sedentary. That may offset the fact that we all tend to overestimate the calories we burn!
  • The key is the amount of calories consumed, in relation to what your body burns in a day. Walking will help you burn more so it may be easier to eat at a deficit. You can lose weight without the walking (but the walking is soooo good for you) but you can't lose weight without eating less calories. imho
  • When did we get Like buttons? Those are awesome!!! Yes I vaccinated my children...I was also vaccinated but still got the measles... (I had been vaccinated for it but 4 out of 5 people in my house got it).
  • Nice work! I'm glad you feel better...I always feel bad when my overweight friends and family complain about their aches and pains. I know that losing weight would solve so much of that but that is a hard thing to hear when you are not on that path!
  • abbreviation for this site.... My Fitness Pal
  • I tend to be a grazer so like to have things like cut up apples and veggies around so I can just grab those. One of my favorite snacks when I feel like I need some protein is light salami or deli turkey, rolled up around some whipped cream cheese. I find about 100 calories worth fills me up! Yogurts, string cheese, cottage…
  • Nice work! 5 pounds a month seems like a very attainable goal. And so great of you to come back to it after gaining only half back! So many of us don't get back on track until it's all come back and possibly plus some!
  • congratulations! You look awesome!
  • Track all of your food...weigh and measure. You will find those things that are lower calorie and worth bigger portions and those that are not. You can probably not change your eating much, just change your portions and will drop the lbs. Most of us find that things lower in calorie are worth adding in to our meals because…
  • Coffee and a mojo granola bar...not my favorite but Had an early dr. Appt and got hungry after 2 hours in waiting room!
  • Artichokes, raspberries, mangos, watermelon! Yum!
  • Go read success stories...members of MFP who are celebrating milestones whether it is weight loss or something different. The motivation to do the work has to come from you but you can get a little boost from others! Track all of your food, good and bad..even if you go off track, write it down! It's the best place to start!
  • I use the recipe builder on this site as well
  • Nice job! Your hard work has paid off! Love that you did it exactly how MFP recommends! Eating at your daily recommended calories and "earning" extra when needed through additional activity!
  • Yesterday I revisited the delicious peanut butter and celery combo! sliced apples are my go to snack typically
  • hi! Welcome to MFP! you have made some great changes...log all of your food, weigh everything (food scales are pretty cheap online) and you will definitely see results. The big benefit of being a dude is that you will most likely see faster results than those of us that are not! :pensive:

  • 93 pounds is huge progress! Congratulations on your success! How exciting to be coming up on the 100 lb loss milestone! I hope you celebrate that one and share it with all of us! :)
  • yeah, I think those shows (although I watch them constantly!) give us all unrealistic weight loss expectations! You see people on TV lose 10-20 lbs in one week....how can that possibly be healthy? Read the boards here and see what others do. If I lose .5 in one week I'm lucky! My husband can eat twice as much as me and…
  • Congratulations on your success on your journey to a healthier you!
