Do what you enjoy! that is what will bring you back to the gym, as you feel more confident go ahead and try new things there, you might find more that you enjoy! I have discovered that I love the rowing machines, HATE the stair climbers!

I also think that if you are pear shaped, it takes longer. Those people closest to you more often are looking you in the eyes or looking at your face as you are talking. I lost almost 50 lbs and my best friends didn't really notice until we looked at old pictures. I took it as a compliment to mean that they never saw those…

It is super easy to peel too...you can peel it with a spoon...just scrape off the brown skin. It's awesome diced and cooked with chicken...I add equal parts ginger and garlic and cook in a stirfry.

Congratulations, that's a great loss! I hope you feel great, you look great for sure!

Some cycle their calories...if you want to average 1500 a day for example, they might have 1000 one day then 2000 the next... This is done intentionally to not let yourself "get used" to it. I've never tried it but think it's a good tool for when you need to shake things up!

Welcome to MFP! Think of this as your tool to learn a new way of eating...that for the most part needs to be forever. You will be setting a good example for your children too. Read the boards, study the nutrition information...it might get overwhelming and you will see many different opinions. You need to find what works…

Here's another vote for Tainted love by Soft Cell!

I'm in...going to try it!

I also save enough calories for something I enjoy...sugar free hot cocoa at only 25 calories a pop is totally worth it! It's tough though...I don't think snacking at night is often about being hungry (at least for me!)

If it was easy, there would be no need for My Fitness Pal... It is also totally worth it btw

I had a friend who was 40 and lost weight super fast...her face did definitely age quickly. but then over the course of a few months of keeping the weight off, it mellowed...wrinkles smoothed out and her face filled back in. I've never seen it so noticeable on anyone before. I lose super slow so there is rarely a…

Hi John! Had to read your post a couple of times...it's early here on the West Coast of the US! I thought you said your name was "John Motivation"...I was thinking that was a crazy last name! Losing the weight is always an uphill battle for sure, but MFP is a good place to start! Feel free to friend me, I look…

sometimes for me to get the scale moving again, I shake up my diet a bit...lean it out with just lean proteins, fruits and veggies OR add something back in (like healthy fats)...drink more water, be diligent about your weighing and tracking your food. Good luck and welcome back!

I think you could also blend the sauce with some of the beans and veggies to thicken it. More work but if that is what you want, might be worth it.
-
nice work guys! Congratulations on your success!

I buy the individually frozen ones at Costco...Nothing exciting until you add goodness!

Welcome to MFP! I look forward to following your journey!

First of all, Congratulations on your success so far! I've been to Costa Rica and loved, loved, loved it! Nicest people, beautiful scenery...amazing adventures! The food is overall pretty healthy, chicken, rice and veggies were staples if I remember...easy. If you want to follow somethign specific how about doing couch to…

Welcome to MFP! Congratulations on both your new wife and your new life! Logging in to MFP regularly and eating at your recommended daily calories is a great start. My advice is to start with logging all of your food and beverages...be accurate. Invest in a food scale, you can get them for about $15 on amazon so it's not…

many in my family (husband, brother in law) have successfully gotten sober through AA and meetings. It is a long journey, and AA is an integral part of it. My husband has now been sober for 30 years and still thinks about it occasionally....go back to AA, find a meeting that works for you. They will welcome you. I also…

Much healthier and often cheaper too!

Welcome to MFP! Good luck on your journey to better health! You will be excellent role models for your children, I started this when mine were grown and gone. Now I see others at the gym or out hiking with their kids and I wish I would have done the same!

If you go to food here there is a place to enter in recipes manually...it's totally worth it!

I took it years ago for a jumpstart, it was a great assist! you obviously have to be motivated as well since you technically can still eat as much as you want even if you don't feel hungry! One thing I did as I was starting to see success was to taper off to show myself I could do this without it. Switch to every other day…

Congratulations on your success! Both at the scale and not!

whatever it takes to get motivated! I'm working to lose 20...it will probably take me a long time as I am a super slow loser! Also trying to avoid processed foods, sugars and unhealthy carbs

Welcome to MFP! Good luck on your journey to health!
-
Great start! Congrats on your success so far and welcome to MFP!

Good for both of you for getting back at it before you gained it all back! You see many stories on here of those who gain it all and often plus more. Good luck on both of your journeys!

For me, what I eat is important to how I feel. I try to get most of my calories from lean proteins, fruits and veggies. If my calories are coming from processed carbs and sugar I don't feel my best!
