I'm the same, lost 5kg so far and although I do feel smaller, my clothes are pretty much the same! It's a shame that you would notice if you put on a few pounds but it doesn't work the same way when losing a few! Keep at it, the inches are bound to come off eventually! :) Did anyone notice a great difference if they…

Leaving the mind out of it, I have the same problem. I haven't taken pictures or measurements but I really wish I had! My scales say I've lost 5kg but my clothes have pretty much the same fit. I'm 5'4" so I thought 5kg would have had more of an impact. The only thing I've noticed is that my breasts have gotten slightly…

I brought salad and separate carrot an cucumber sticks last night, back in the fridge now! I did have an orange though and was lucky, there was thin crust of my favourite pizza! I think it takes like 100 kcals off a slice :) will take the salad tonight again...

Try to cut down on your starchy carbs - potatoes, chips (fries), white rice, white bread, etc. I like brown rice, sweet potato and butternut squash (amazing, more like treat food) and veggies like carrots, parsnips (also amazing, especially roasted) and turnip are good for filling up your plate more than straight carbs.…

Ahh ha Roda Rose! If only! I work nights but only on the weekend - I know how unhealthy this is but I don't have a choice at the mo. And I have chronic fatigue syndrome (which I think is undiagnosed underactive thyroid due to a strong family history). I was diagnosed a few years ago so it has nothing to do with the job…

Yes, I do, makes it all the harder! I have gotten a little better, I only take it now when it's hot and fresh, unlike in the beginning. Haha they don't even sell water never mind have a salad bar! I do like the veggies on the pizza though so it's not just crap I'm stuffing my face with. I bring my own water and so far have…

Hi! My second time around on here - I will definitely stick to it this time! I got a gym membership over a year ago and went once. I was too intimidated to go back :/ Might give it another go but going to start with diet and getting outside more! Good to see such positivism, you're off to a great start! :)

I hear you!! I'm guilty of yoyo-ing over the years (about 15) and binge-eating is defs something I need to change for life! I can do quite well for a few days then I'll allow myself a treat and there's just no stopping me. It's like I can be good again when all the treats are gone, but I'll wait til then. Doesn't help that…

I do eat before and I bring 'lunch' haha. Trouble is, I usually work at night so I sleep all day (weekends only) and I think I feel more of a drain because of the job, it just draws me towards all those carbs! Doesn't help that it tastes so good. I think I need to bring tasty food that I can eat cold, that I'll want to eat…

Wow girl...you've done really well in your situation! You have taken control and that's the first step to empowermetnt, you are the boss now. There are things which happen that are completely out of our control and the only thing you can do is take the positives, learn from them and move on. Your husband - sorry ex husband…

Have you been doing the 5:2 diet or just considering it? I'd like to try it but I'm scared of feeling hungry!

No idea! Would also be very interested to know the answer to this though...

I think that depending on how you make up your 500/600 kcals, it can still be realy healthy and nutritous

It's when you restrict your calories two days per week (500 for women, 600 for men) and eat normally (not unconstrained!) for the other five days, when you reach your goal you can cut down to one day to maintain, i think. The intermittent fasting is supposed to have health benefits as well as weight loss but I don't know…

Just back to my second account after a sabatical :/ I used to drink very little water but found keeping track of it on here really helped my upake and when you drink more water, it helps lose your water weight - so weird, I know. Try small steps, it's when the little things start adding up you'll see results and you won't…

Hi Sara, I'm also an emotional eater, just an eater in general really, I'm always thinking about food! I tend to binge and I'm now back on here after a week or two away, just trying to keep an eye on the ball! It helps my motivation to celebrate even small victories and don't lose sight of long term goals. Slow and steady…

Hi everyone, I've been textbook underactive thyroid for about 10 years or more but my tests have all been within the normal range (I've been tested throughout this time but more so in the last 5 years). The only thing that has ever shown up was my vitimin D, it was extremely low so I was put on supplements but more recent…

Hi everyone, Im 26 and from the UK, I've just joined MFP again after a brief (year long) absence. It was the only way I seemed to be getting anywhere with steady weightloss but not feeling like I was depriving myself. I'm back up to where I was again before I started so here I am again! Anyway, a few years ago I was…
