  • Me too! I had such a small window of actually being able to wear my wedding ring on my ring finger. Now it fits my middle finger pretty much perfectly so I wear it there instead. I will get it resized when I'm finally done.
  • I managed to hold crow pose for 5 breaths today. That's the first time I've managed to really hold it properly. Was so excited I nearly fell out of the pose! Couldn't get back into wheel pose today though after doing it for the first time on Friday unassisted. But I'll keep working on it, I was close.
  • Haha, I tell my husband he has a choice between boobs and butt. I can have a nice butt and small boobs, or bigger boobs and a bigger butt (and everything else too...). You can't have it both ways!!!
  • I'm sorry you felt that way today. It's kinda hard the way we lose weight sometimes, in that it never seems to budge from where we want it to the most (you hear me jiggly flab under my butt?!) I think we also hope that as we lose weight we'll get to what ever our "ideal body" is - but my experience is that we always find…
  • I went out for dinner with my husband tonight. It was kind of impromptu, so hadn't been saving calories for it like I normally would. But the NSV is that I didn't freak out. I went, had a glass of wine, and had bread, an entree and a main. I tried to choose relatively healthy options, but didn't stress about it or…
  • Man that's a seriously impressive loss so far - awesome work :-) keep focusing on those positives and I'm sure you'll make your way to goal!
  • I managed 4 on my toes the other day before I had to drop to my knees for the rest of the set. I'll be celebrating when I can do a whole set that's for sure! But I started having to do them standing against a wall, so it's all good progress!
  • I know right. Running now makes me feel strong and light and free. Kind of nuts right? When I started it made me feel like a pregnant hippopotamus.
  • Yep, although the down side is I'm spending money on new clothes AND new shoes... Our poor house is never going to finish getting renovated at this rate!
  • I got into wheel pose for the first time unassisted in yoga class today. So proud of myself. :D We've been doing a back bends series for the past few weeks and I can definitely see the progress I have been making, especially with my upper body strength. Now if I could just manage some kind of handstand...
  • I have a book of swim training workouts, which I finally dug out of the bookcase last week. Yesterday I managed to complete an entire set - which was over 2km and had me swimming for an hour. It felt good to feel a bit pushed instead of my usual slow grind when I'm not following a plan. And it's the farthest I've swum in a…
  • OMG This! I used to have to wear hideous old lady flats or gym shoes all the time because of a combination of my weight and weird foot issues that require orthotics. Now I am rocking moderate heels at work most days - and I have multiple pairs! orthotics are just for running now. Lovin it :D
  • Just goes to show how skewed people's perception of normal is!
  • Yep, my goals keep shifting too. At first I just wanted to get into my healthy weight range. At the beginning if I had seen a picture of me +10kgs ago, I would have said I would be happy if I could get to that point. But I got there and realised I wasn't done. Now I still want to get rid of a few annoying flabby bits here…
  • I bought a small chocolate bar this afternoon as I was starving but the Cafe downstairs didn't have any good options. I figured that at least with chocolate I know how many cals are in it so I can make an informed decision, unlike the cakes and cookies. I ate half (3pcs) and put the rest in my drawer for another day. AND…
  • My wardrobe is totally different now too. It also used to be all blacks and charcoals so I could stay invisible. I never felt I could pull off patterns or bright colours because I felt it emphasised my size. Now it's all well fitted clothes with patterns and colours and things that make me feel great! I love being able to…
  • I managed to get both feet off the ground in crow pose today, for all of about 2 seconds :D I'm so excited! Now I just need to work on holding it...
  • It's weird how that works eh! It's like our brain tells us that if our gym buddy bails, it's giving us permission to bail too. Good on you for making your goal this month! For me it's partly because we both drive to the train together in the morning. There is a bus service, bit it's a bit of a pain. So if he bails, I feel…
  • My husband and I usually go to the pool together before work a few times a week. We were meant to go on Wednesday but my husband wasn't feeling it, so we delayed it to today. I was all ready to go this morning and he was slow getting up and ready. So I went on my own and told him to make his own way to the train this…
  • I actually like my thighs! After a lifetime of comments about my tree trunk thighs (thanks dad...) I have always hated them. But I was doing yoga this morning and actually liked the way they looked in my tights. It was weird, it felt like I was looking at someone else's legs. My brain hasn't quite accepted that they're…
  • I hate to tell you, but ^this^ makes you a runner! There is no test to pass to qualify, if you run, you are a runner no matter what speed, or how far/long you run for. Welcome to the club :)
  • Yesterday I had to skip my lunchtime run. So I decided to do it after work instead - which is always risky cos it's hard to fit around dinner and once you get cosy inside it's hard to make yourself go out in the cold and dark. It's the time I'm most likely to pike an a workout. Anyway, last night I strapped on a head…
  • *High Five!* :D I'm about 6 weeks away from running my first half marathon in years. I can't wait!
  • Haha, me too! Mines an M but I'm good with that! I got some new fitting work clothes but had to deal with the VPL, and the only way to do that is a thong (well, there is another option, but it isn't really work appropriate...) My NSV for today is that I swam 1000m non-stop at the pool today. I've only been back swimming…
  • I can wear heels again! I have weird feet that means I usually need to wear orthotics all the time, Which meant flat old-lady shoes or gym shoes. But 37kg of weight off my feet means that I can now handle a moderate heel without orthotics. Which is AWESOME but also bad because now I can spend money on cute shoes as well as…
  • Good for you! I finally got there a few weeks ago - it's definitely something to celebrate :)
  • Yay! Good on you :) I weigh every day too, and I reckon it helps me see and accept the random weight fluctuations that happen within any given week. If I weighed once a week, it puts so much pressure on that one point in time producing a 'good' result, and I'm much more likely to feel defeated by a 'bad' number. If I do it…
  • Yep! I am wearing totally different clothes now - not just size, but style too. I can now totally rock a pencil skirt for work, when before I wouldn't have gone near one because I would have looked like an overstuffed sausage! I can also wear nice blouses because they fit nicely and my belly is no longer bigger than my…
  • *guilt-free.
  • Me too! Great movie, and even better without guilt! We grabbed a burger for dinner first, and I had managed my kj budget during the day to allow for that guilt-
