  • Just want to say that most people I knew in NC were supportive, it was mostly my family that wasn't. I don't want to feed some kind of stereotype, the area I loved in was very accepting. Not sure how I feel about Portland after having been here 9 months or so. I like some things and hate others, but I have been able to…
  • Yes I have had past and current successes in this calorie range. As long as you are pretty active and don't spend the majority of your day sitting you should show some progress.
  • Today I found out that I have officially dropped a clothing size! Comfortably too, no sucking it in. :)
  • Today I let myself indulge a little. It was my day off and things have been a bit stressful so let myself enjoy a few extra calories within reason.
  • I mostly just walk a lot. I was doing some exercise videos but my temporarily overcrowded living situation is hindering that. My job requires me to move around all day and operate machinery and lift heavy things...then I do a lot of walking to get to bus stops and such so I'm always moving and not too worried about getting…
  • My only thing with drinking lots of water is having to pee a lot. How do you guys cope with that? I work in a customer service type job and it's a pain to have to keep taking breaks.
  • Another today (yesterday) I decided to save my bus money and walked to the store to run some errands and walk back. It was about a 4 mile total trip and I burned quite a few calories. I also got some important things done and had a productive day.
  • Today I turned down diet soda and drank water instead (and got by on significantly less caffeine than I normally would). I also ate as much food as I needed at a restaurant and took the rest to go.
  • I joined already but there doesn't seem to be much activity.
  • Can I still be added? Sorry I'm so new to this. MFP SW - 225 Starting Weight - 218 Challenge Target - 199 UGW - 130? Would be ecstatic at 150 tbh
  • I met my calorie goal and avoided soda but the rest didn't really happen. So today my goals are basically the same. Only if I have trouble sleeping I want to try to remain calm about it and not let anxiety make it worse.
  • I just relocated from Carrboro/Chapel Hill NC to Portland Oregon. I'm from the south so I can definitely relate.
  • Portland, Oregon! Just recently moved here from North Carolina.
  • Anyway, I have struggled giving up diet coke for years. I feel like drinking it dries my skin and makes me have to pee way too often. Is the addiction not with the caffeine? I can also drink a lot of coffee and get headaches when I significantly lower my caffeine intake. Large amounts of caffeine can also trigger my…
  • I'm not going to be able to weigh myself tomorrow because I don't have a scale. I just started a new job so it will be at least a few days before I will have extra money for one. However I am pretty certain that I know my current weight. I also know that if I weigh in at 200 or less by Christmas then I will have gotten…
  • I'm the same height and at around 215-18 lbs. (I don't have a scale right now but that's a pretty accurate guess based on recent weigh-ins). I joined the lose 20 pounds by Christmas group and hope to be under 200 by the end of the year?
  • Is there a particular format to this or is it just whatever we want to say? It's a bit late in the day, but I still have goals to meet. 1. Not to exceed 1500 calories today because it was a bit of a lazy day. (so far so good) 2. Continue drinking water and avoiding diet soda. (that stuff is one hell of an addiction) 3. Do…
  • Thanks for this. I'm currently over 200 lbs. and constantly hating my body does nothing to motivate me. And to be honest I don't really hate my body. I grew up in a family where body hate was the norm and I am so over it. No one should EVER hate their bodies for any reason. There are though practical reasons for getting…
  • Putting my name out here too if anyone would like to add me. I'm not new to mfp but I am new to the social aspects of it.
  • I wholeheartedly agree with this. Even when I don't feel like it I try to get out of the house every day. It seems to both take my mind off of food and keep me active. Yesterday I decided to skip my connecting bus and walk the extra 1.5 miles to my destination and it was so worth it to get some sightseeing in.
  • Hi guys. I'm 29 and just moved to a new place and am starting a new job. I moved to try and take control of my life and I would like that to extend to me taking better care of my body. I don't currently have a scale but last my recent weight has between 215-218 and I'm 5'2". I have a long way to go, but if I can get down…
