I couldn't wait to move my gym from the garage to the basement. Year-round training at home.

There are better groups for that on Facebook. Look for "Functional Fitness Garage Sale."

For how can this be? Tell that to Muad'Dib.

Keep working on it. I used to do the genie style aka body builder style front squats but I found I ended up choking myself more thus I dropped the weight and grinding out FS in the front rack position. Now, that I've gutted through it, I can get in the front rack pretty easy.

Yeah, that bar position is even high for a high bar squat. As far as depth, you don't necessarily have to go that deep, but, I'm guilty of ATG instead of just breaking parallel too. If you get rid of the pad, you'll be able to rack it better and the pad won't be necessary because the lower placement won't be giving you…

Nice job Kyle @LolBroScience

You should be scared. There is a reason why the Colonials referred to the Cylons as "Toasters" after all.

I love seeing what other have done with their home spaces. @capaul42 : Are you worried about the floors in your bedroom?
-
:D Hope you have plenty of coffee and Kringle then!

:p Sometimes I even do sets of laundry

Bench press 260x5x5 and gym cleaning https://instagram.com/p/BYtxWRlDW2r/ Not exciting, but I'm still grinding it out at home

Always wear a glove if babies could be involved, otherwise barbell training use chalk.

I roll my CF, HIIT, or any other circuit training as part of my TDEE. Done ✅

Two or three weeks ago I helped a box move and the owner gave me the surplus flooring she was going to toss. I finished installing it this morning -- I cut scraps to fit on the end of the platforms to finish off the edges. All I need to do is place contractor hoop loop carpet on the deadlift platform and below the squat…

I'm just here to show off my gym which between building some of the components (platforms, chalk bowl, blocks, sand bags) I spent around $1,000 between Craigslist and getting stuff for free -- like all but two of the horse stall mats. (I helped a box move -- they gave me the surplus they were going to throw away.) I spent…

I gotta say, I added CF as a corrective to the specificity in my powerlifting training and so far my body, because of this "weird" stuff is feeling all right. I liberally scale either weight or movement (or both), because I know what my body needs and what my overall weekly training schedule is like.

Chuckle. Yeah hyperbole much?

Like a Planet Fitness?

Many Crossfitters continue to hold onto their non-Crossfit gym memberships. In addition to the gym in my basement, the Crossfit gym I train at, I keep an Anytime Fitness membership -- but thats because I am a PT there.

Somebody tell Dom Mazzetti stat!

Refer to your comment above

And we're you eating the same?

Powerlifting for strength development. Strongman for endurance, but for "fat loss" -- nope, doesn't work that way. You build or maintain muscle as you cut calories in a deficit while pushing your body into a new level of homeostasis to become more efficient burning calories at rest.
-
This is where as experienced, platform, tested powerlifters, we need to go into Crossfit and tweak their programming and proscribed percentages in class when it doesn't make any practical sense. While CF et al are very good in training physical skills and developing general aptitude toward a host of barbell and gymnastics…

@not_a_runner We had bench press and bent over rows today. I might be cardio poor, but damn it felt nice to rep out super sets of barbell bench press and barbell rows for a change. (And actually saved me from doing the work tomorrow morning when I train deadlift.)

28.27. (Had my physical last week.) As you can tell, I'm horribly obese.

Beer* *but that's just me

Strongly agreed. Many boxes take on the personality of their owners. For example, Badger Crossfit, the owner Tyler, has deep Olympic weightlifting background, so his box has that underlying focus. Crossfit West Allis (I'm going to their grand reopening this morning) the owner Kyle is a powerlifter, strongman and wrestler.…

A CF LV1 really isn't too much different than any non-bachelorette certification. Self-study at home, a few tests, and a short practium is the norm with most personal training certifications. Actually, from my experience, CF certification is much more rigorous than most PT certifications and many boxes make an effort to…

I'm a full time powerlifter (as full time as anyone can be as an amateur athlete) and a part time Crossfitter. I've been experimenting with CF for the last year, but until recently I've decided to make a two day per week commitment to Crossfit -- in addition to training as a powerlifter 3x a week. I won't go into all the…
