I've had a nagging thought in my mind for a couple of years that if I was told I needed surgery to save my life, I'd probably be told I was high risk due to my weight. I've got 2 kiddies, and without me and hubby, there really isn't anyone else who'd look out for them or that I trust enough to have my babies. I want to…

I no longer get rings around my ankles from having my socks on all day!!

In 100 years we'll all be dead and no one will give a toss what we did, so just get on and damn well enjoy the ride!! Every pun intended;)

In England we have our scones with jam and clotted cream...

To be a boring old nag, it's all in the planning.. Plan for tomorrow and stick to it as best you can. Nobody on here is perfect all the time, and I hate to say it, but in the beginning when it's a huge adjustment it's the most difficult time. Take it on a daily basis rather than looking to the long term, that worked for me…

For me, Pancakes are for pancake day, once a year with sugar and lemon. Made in a frying pan with homemade batter.. Scrummy xx

Hello. 5'11" here. I started at 280lbs and have lost 24lbs since December 28th and nobody had noticed. With my clothes on I don't look any different as I have played around with the same 2 stone (28lbs) for the last 10 years. My tummy has shrunk and the fat over my hips is receding so my clothes fit nicer. I still wear the…

I've over eaten for most of my life Hun, but I'm not letting it ruin my future. Forget the past and move on. Xx

My attitude.. I'm fat, your ugly. I can diet

Nickleback - someone that you're with.. Actually all the album but this song is my favourite for a freak out dance around the kitchen. The louder the better;))

Hi, I've been on the depo for 6 years and my sister has just come off after 23 years.. For me my weight gain is due to over eating and I don't blame the depo for any increase. It has tamed my pmt from 'wild raging beast' to perfectly tolerable. Pmt was my motivation for having it initially, I'm losing weight slowly and…

I couldn't of said it better myself!!

Congratulations, that's a fantastic achievement! Well done you. Xx

My heart sank for you at the sad part of your story. I'm so glad that you are ok mentally as well as physically. Sometimes you just have to 'pick yourself up shake yourself off and start all over again' ( meant in a singy voice) my singing is crap, but I wish you every success or the future whatever it holds. X

Wowee that's an amazing accomplishment. Congratulations! For the lady who has lost 5lb, that's fantastic. You should weigh something to realise how heavy 5lb is!! I weighed my iron, it was 3.3lb.. I've lost 6.6 irons, bet I couldn't carry them for long ( sorry, I don't get out much hahahahahahaha)

Well done! I've never been a 'binge eater' but I used to get a time in the day, or a day in the month where nothing would quite hit the spot, so I would raid the cupboards. These days my cupboards are boring if I have the munchies plus I try to never be 'starving hungry' or my mind starts to wander and crave. One day at a…

Haha! This gave me a darn good belly laugh! 'She is a snore' I'll be remembering that one for future use. All royalties to you of course. Xx

What's working for me is realising that it's not rocket science. It takes me ages to shift 1lb because I'm a lazy loser at the moment, but I'm doing it and I'm sticking with it. Dedication is a great tool.. Good luck X

The only advice I can really give from someone who can eat like there's no tomorrow, is don't over think the situation, just get on with it. For me, the more I thought about 'not eating' it just led me back to thinking of food. I no longer think about the food I can't have, I look forward to the day that I have planned for…

My neighbour came around this afternoon for a cuppa, lovely lovely lady but she has been going to slimming world and said, why don't you join me! Arghhh.. Her family were having a takeaway for tea but she was going to settle for a boiled egg!! She proudly told me that she has lost 11lbs in 5 weeks. I didn't say a word…

Yeah!! Because the kids won't notice you've had something done and rip the s**t out of you!! Put in the hard work like the rest of us!

I just don't tell people that I'm trying! I was asked to an evening out and declined because it was an 'all you can eat'.. Imagine telling me, at 260lbs that you can eat as much Chinese food as you like. Do you know how much I can eat, I don't have a shut of valve!! Anyway, I only told that lady because I decided to say no…

I was recently asked by a friend if we could go for an 'all you can eat' Chinese evening out! I said thanks but no, I'm counting calories, 'oh but you can have one night off!!!! Yes, I replied a can, but I don't want too.

His attitude sucks!! I had a gran who used to put me down at any given opportunity about my weight! I wouldn't dream of speaking to my children like that and if my dad or inlaws spoke to my kids in the style that my gran spoke to me, it would be war! You guys are all very forgiving but that degree of disrespect is…

Hiya, I'm a SAHM of 2 kids and although I do have time to exercise I don't at the moment, other than a couple of long walks in the week because I don't enjoy it and think I've still got to much fat to haul around. I am however very active, gardening or decorating or finding someone to help, so I don't beat myself up over…

The family doctor is probably not a cancer specialist and so I would hold my breath for good news from the CT scan. Whatever the outcome, you cannot control it, take a look at statistics from breast cancer survivors, there are now more survivors than ever!! Be strong for your Mum, and perhaps use your knowledge of good…
