  • When i lost the most weight I would look at my weekly calorie count and make sure that I was low enough mon-thu to make up for 4-5 beers on a friday night and hangover dinner on sat.
  • You'll need to maintain a 1167 calorie deficit average, which will be tough, but definitely doable. Good luck
  • If your goal is weight loss, stick with light activity and don't eat back calories from your normal day to day activity. Personally, if I do a strength session, I will eat back the calories in a post workout, high protein snack to aid recovery, but again if you are focussed on weight loss, then it's really up to you if you…
  • If you hate cardio, try weights instead. Even when I was younger and fit, I hated cardio, and I honestly still can't force myself to do it; but weights is 'easy', as it's engaging and satisfying - lifting something heavier every week is much more of an achievement than putting up with running for 5 more minutes. That and…
  • Like Cole says, a bit of IF helps me when I need to buckle down - I find it's much easier to have a light breakfast and lunch, minimal snacks and then leave myself the bulk of my day's calories in the evening so I can have dinner and an indulgent snack before bed - that way you've earned the treat with being good all day.…
  • 1228 days of open and honest diaries and counting, back on the wagon after gaining a stone during a stressful year.
  • I work a desk job too, with 2-3 mile walk to work + 2 young kids, so I get the being tired. But I try to find time for a couple of strength workouts a week in my garage.
  • Another from Scotland; 1220 days of daily open diaries - currently aiming to lose about 15kg after a bad year derailed my earlier efforts - feel free to add
  • This video from Dominik Sky shows off a number of ab exercises that will do the job
  • 35 y/o dad of 2 currently 94kg/5'10"; looking to lose another 15kg/30lbs this year - 1205 days logging with an open diary
  • .5kg of fat is equal to about 3600 calories; so you need a deficit of at least 3600 calories to lose 0.5kg of fat. Most of your daily weight fluctuations come from your retained water - this goes up and down depending on what you eat (salt/carbs can increase retention), from your period for women, and from going to the…
  • Lost 20kg 3 years ago, maintained for a couple of years, then put 10kg back on due to stress last year. Looking to be below 80kg by the end of the year.
  • It's been 3 days; you won't even be in ketosis yet. That and your bodyweight will fluctuate 4-5lb a day depending on your amount of salt, carbs and hormone etcs changing your water retention. Give it time and track accurately; it'll come off.
  • Could be doing something similar to 5/2 IF where it's part of the program is having 2 fast days where you only eat 600-1000 calories a day. This is a fairly common program and so the OP's behaviour is not unusual.

  • I have some Myprotein Chocolate Whey + half milk/half water for breakfast most days as it's quick and easy. Keeps me going til mid-morning banana. If you still find you are hungry, add some instant oats.
  • It's a common thing, and I've found myself thinking it about others even after it happened to me. This time 2 years ago, I had lost about 28lbs - my wife and her family made comments about me looking gaunt and ill; two months later and another 10lbs down, and I was looking "fit". Over the last 6 months a guy in the office…
  • Scotland here; looking for new people to liven up my feed as most of my friends have fallen off the wagon :(
  • I got the same thing from my family the first christmas after I started losing weight (too skinny, wasting away etc); then a few months later got more positive comments (looking slim/fit) despite being another stone lighter. It takes time for people's perception to catch up to reality.
  • I treat myself to a couple of maxi-nutrition dark chocolate bars a week (but only if they are down to £1.50 each) Otherwise I make my own - they have less protein per bar, but are cheap. 200 g, Oats 150 gram, Nutella (if you like peanut butter, use that instead as it adds extra protein) 160 g, Peeled banana 100 g (2…
  • I'm from Glasgow ;)
  • Are you very short, like under 5'? If not, then losing weight is not healthy. Even then, going by your profile picture, you are already very slender, and don't appear to have any fat to lose, so the "personal reasons" may be better addressed by speaking to a doctor and getting some counselling, as you have no health…
  • I got a pair of these https://amazon.co.uk/Bluetooth-headphones-SoundPEATS-QY7-bluetooth/dp/B01E38SXZS/ on recommendation from r/fitness - they're great; decent sound, splashproof and 5-6 hour charge, and frees me up from dangly cables. They come with a selection of heads and hooks to keep them in your ears. Keeps them in…
