  • I used to get them, but I prefer zucchini noodles to the shirataki on cost, texture, and taste.
  • OP, I know folks are being coarse, but it's bc we've seen your mentality 1000 times before and it usually is the mantra of people who start really strong but fall off the wagon quickly when they have one "bad" food/meal/day and it takes a long time for them to get that motivation back. I am much the same mentality as you,…
  • The most vocal members of that crowd are generally just kind of awful. For most people though, denial of health risks down the road is the worst thing they have going for them. If I had to choose for another person, I'd rather they be in denial and love themselves than be in denial and participate in their own…
  • Agree big time. Also, just take a little time to maybe look at copycat recipes of comfort foods with lower calories. There are some healthier swaps you might like more, but there will be some you just don't like, and that's ok. If you spend just a few minutes looking around for "low calorie", "copycat", etc etc you'll find…
  • @shaunshaikh I love it!
  • It was addressed. Many times over. I'm good, thank you all. Edit: I know that came off rude, and I don't mean to be. I simply mean that I'm good with the advice I've gotten and while I appreciate advice and criticism, my question was answered and I agree with people's responses. Sometimes a person knows something…
  • @AnvilHead I did sort that out as I was reading it, BUT I can absolutely see why someone should specify what that means! My sister is a figure competitor. And if you're thinking "why don't you ask HER for advice?!" You're spot on. BUT as close as we are (super BFFs, of course) we are not in the same country and I'm…
  • @AnvilHead Ooh cool! I'll be saving that for sure. Thanks all!
  • @jjpptt2 Thank you. I appreciate folks taking the time to give feedback on my silly questions. Once in a blue moon, I'll be ravenous after a workout, so I'll eat. Most of the time however, it seems to suppress my appetite until much later in the day.
  • Thanks @VintageFeline That's really what I believe to be true. I just sort of wanted to confirm it because IF by it's nature means a longer window of not eating than a regular eating schedule. But if it's all good, I'm gonna keep on keepin' on.
  • Thanks everyone. I'm really not feeling insecure about how much I'm losing or anything like that. I've already shed a significant amount of weight so seeing the scale craziness doesn't deter me. Just seeing if there's anything that can be easily controlled (such as sodium) that would just give me a LITTLE edge with keeping…
  • Hey we have similar stats, I'm a couple inches shorter but was about 230 when I got started again, and my last child was a C-section, so I feel ya!I've only been back at it for about a month, but if you need a buddy feel free to add. I try to encourage my buddies and I keep my diary open and share recipes and stuff (when I…
  • @riffraff2112 sorry for not responding to your post, for some reason it just now showed up. I have experienced that drop after the "gain" myself. I think what I'm really after is the trend and Libra totally fits the bill.
  • @bamhewitt344 Thanks for your input. If I'm being totally honest with myself and everyone, I should admit that I don't track my sodium intake. Not even a little. Though it's really rare I get that little pop-up that says I've gone over or am nearing my sodium limit. By all means, before posting this I knew I'd have to get…
  • Excellent point @cwolfman13 ! Also I downloaded Libra and input my data. I really like it and will definitely keep using it. Especially as I get closer to goal and maintenance it will be helpful, but for now it's just a simple confirmation that I'm losing at a healthy rate. I'm a person who can not see my own weight loss…
  • Good call @cwolfman13. It's one of those things I know intellectually, but sometimes can be frustrating day to day, and even moreso week-to-week. I'm just a data nerd, ya feel me?
  • @pinuplove I will give libra and maybe trendweight a go, thank you. I saw Libra mentioned by someone awhile back and was going to do it but it promptly fell out of my brain.
  • @aeloine Thank you. I'd heard that was a "thing" but I'm careful about believing anything that makes me too happy with myself
  • I think I would have gotten to goal a long, long time ago if I hadn't believed in the starvation mode myth. Now I just hate it oh so much. It really messed me up and made me think I was dooming myself to fail when I was really making excellent, healthy progress.
  • @TavistockToad absolutely on board with what you're saying. That period of time where I was full on about 1000 (meticulously weighed & tracked) cals was pretty short-lived, bc I started working out again and was therefore pretty darn hungry. If I had been experiencing that for longer I would have definitely made…
  • I feel like with one exception (@3bambi3), folks aren't quite answering the question being asked, which is only somewhat related to the mild success portion. I can relate, as I have had days where I'm full at 1000 cals or so, and I will make a concoction of protein powder, coconut oil, almond milk, and about 2 tbsp…
  • I had this same feeling about a week ago, not like it wasn't brewing for quite awhile before I got fed up and got back at it again. Feel free to add, I'm realizing I could use a few more mfp pals. This time around I've been telling myself that no matter how much I screw up, I will get back at it the next day like nothing…
  • Wow, I'm so impressed with the progress you've made already! I'm about 217 right now, but I am so ready to get to goal and maintenance this time around. Will add :)
  • Same boat. I just started adding my recipes little by little and making them into meals. I also keep a pretty robust Google drive doc with my recipes of be happy to share. Most of my recipes are vegetarian/vegan but adaptable to omnivores.
  • I need to lose about 80, and could use more like minded myfitnesspal...pals? Most of my current mfp friends are awesome folks but they either don't log all the time or are basically in maintenance.
  • Lost a bunch, gained it back, and I'm ready to get to goal and definitely ready to take on maintenance this time.

  • Came to say this. I'm a cheapskate most of the time but the HR is the way to go in my opinion. I broke my first one after the 1 year warranty was up (totally my fault, I was in a hurry and yanked it off the charger and broke it). I went ahead and bought the Charge HR again in a different color that same day. Can't…
  • I know it's a little late for the OP, but I have the Charge HR and to give me just a little more water resistance I bought a 3D printed cover off of etsy for $2. If I were in your shoes, I'd want that run tracked in the fitbit app! So, I'd probably also cover mine with my runner's wallet (somewhat waterproof). If I thought…
  • I think you can use any mild soap as long as you avoid getting the charging port wet. I have the plum HR now but I had the black for over a year and I would often use my husband's eyeglass wipes (really just rubbing alcohol on a wipe) to clean mine with no problems. The only reason I had to replace mine was I kinda yanked…
