  • The only way I'd have trouble getting 2080 calories is if I have to restrict myself to 2080 calories. Like Jo said, eat ice cream. Eat steak. Eat lasagna/manicotti. Eat cookies. Eat pork belly. Perhaps best of all though - buy some premade cookie dough and eat that. It's fantastic!
  • Sodium has gotten a bad reputation over the past several decades, but that's starting to change. If you have a problem with hypertension then perhaps it's best to monitor your intake. Otherwise it isn't necessary to be overly concerned about it. Just drink plenty of water and you should be fine.…
  • Here's an idea. Whole food, but in shake form: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5RYoCmQk8g
  • Just eat more of what you are already eating. It honestly isn't that hard. If you usually have one bowl of cereal, have two. If you usually have one glass of milk, have three. If you normally eat a two egg omelette, have a four egg omelette. Etc. Etc.
  • Before all of the 'eat real food' replies come in, I'll give my 2 cents (though I do prefer real food personally). I've used MRM's all natural gainer in the vanilla flavor, which I think tastes great and goes down easy. That's really what it comes down to with weight-gainers: taste. They will all have fats, carbs, and…
  • How has no one mentioned cheeseburgers? Some of the easiest food to get into a surplus is IMO burgers, pizza, and those oversized burritos you get from Chipotle/Moes. These cover all of the macros (fat, carbs, protein), taste fantastic, and don't normally make you feel stuffed until you've had a significant number of…
  • my sister battled anorexia and is fully recovered now. I know the site youreatopia (I think that's it) was extremely helpful for her journey. It was so hard for me to see her suffer, but I'm so thankful that she was able to get through it and has regained her health now. There is always a way out, just tell her to keep her…
  • Add it to oatmeal ('proats') with a little vanilla extract and whole milk. Definitely makes it go down easier.
  • I was going to suggest just making something big and having leftovers. Or you can make meals 'for two' and just eat it all by yourself.
  • Hahaha I read that the other day - I knew they weren't exactly double. And those triple double stuff? Yea right. There's not triple - there's only 2 times the cream. False advertising. Like the 11inch subway 'footlong'
  • I just can't quite figure out why the capitalized GOLDEN OREO. It's like they were taunting me, and knew that I wanted the regular double stuf. Hmmm
  • Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I have an update. I received an email from Oreo earlier today, and here is what they wrote: "I appreciate the time you took to contact us. We're always pleased to hear from our consumers when they're enjoying our products. However, I was disappointed to hear there wasn't enough filling…
  • It's true that your body CAN process lots and lots of protein, but it is also true that it CAN'T use all of the protein for muscle synthesis. Some of the excess protein goes to gluconeogenesis if you aren't getting enough carbs through dietary intake. So more protein doesn't mean more muscle, but as mentioned before, it…
  • Just emailed Oreo. Hoping to get a freebee package, but I'm sure they won't even read my message. And I counted them as double stuf. Double the stuf, double them gainzz
  • I think the real question on everyones mind: do I log these as double stuf or single? A metaphysical dilemma at its finest.
  • does ANYONE actually like the dip? And oreos+milk will always be one of my favorite snacks. By the way, I just recently discovered that oreos contain NO dairy. How the heck!? And I like the way you think Jo. I used to take four oreos, stick them in milk overnight, then strain the liquid out and drink the icy cold…
  • Oh believe me, worse things have happened to me in the junk food world. The worst has to be when I've bought chocolate bars and open them just to find that they melted during the shipping process. It just ends up as a mushy, misinformed mess. EDIT: The time I got fun dip without the stick. Cruel and unusual punishment.
  • Oh my gosh I remember that commercial!!!!
  • I've been wanting to try the red velvet ones - I read that they taste great! Are they the same price even though they are half the size containers? And yea, how the heck do you forget to double stuf my doubles?!
  • I'm definitely glad to hear this. The best advice I've heard is to hold on to three things you don't want to give up during school. For me, this would be exercise (primarily weight-lifting), hiking, and going out with friends for some nice beer and drinks. I know that it's ultimately about time management, and I expect…
  • Best protein? Well, my personal favorite is either actin or collagen, but I gotta give a shout out to my good friend hemoglobin - he's a great guy to have around.
  • Sorry dude, I just don't like when people put words in my mouth. It's not very fair. Also, how is education overplayed exactly? I'm not trying to be a jerk - I honestly used to believe that I had to eat only 'healthy' foods, but after taking these courses I've learned that it isn't that simple. Yes, I try to eat…
  • Yea, since I was clearly advocating taking arsenic and poison. Paint with lead is also truly good for curing dysentery, don't you know? Gosh I love it when people take what someone else says to the extreme, and feel like they've won the argument. But I'll let you believe that. I'm also going to go ahead and bet that you…
  • "All food, be it ice cream, rice, butter, steak, chicken, oatmeal, blueberries, Little Debbie cakes, will ultimately be broken down into it's basic components. Carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen, amino acids, etc. To label food as 'good' or 'bad' is just ignorance of how our bodies work." -Me
  • I both agree and disagree with you @msimones. It's certainly not good to obsess over how much you're eating OP, but I think in order to make sure you are eating enough it's best to count calories, at least for now. What kind of food are you eating, and are you weighing your food? I know it seems obsessive at first, but you…
  • Definitely don't focus on what your belly looks like. At this point, all you should focus on is gaining weight at a moderate pace (as mentioned above). Believe me, this will help you in so many ways - even mentally. Once you realize that having a flat belly isn't all that matters, you'll be much better prepared to actually…
  • I believe it's from gluconeogenesis from excessive protein. Protein is a CHON (Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen) whereas carbs are CHO. The Nitrogen group in the protein is released from the CHO and that's what causes the protein farts (somehow. It might be due to the bacteria interacting with the nitrogen in the large…
  • Thanks and best of luck to you in nursing! The health field is a great field to be in in today's world
  • Too much protein will just give you smelly gas. Seriously. Don't do it; focus more on hitting around 1-1.5g/lb body weight (even that's a bit high), and fill the rest with carbohydrates and fats. I'm doing .5g/lb body weight for my fats, but you can mess around with it as you'd like. Just make sure you get enough
  • Definitely eat foods that are higher in calories as mentioned above (e.g. peanut butter). But also try to remove foods that are 'bulky' but not calorically dense, like vegetables. I know that for me, I'll feel a lot fuller after having a big 200 calorie salad than if I had 200 calories of peanut butter.
