Bump. Gotta keep track of this thread!

I react to whey protein (it gives me abdominal cramps). I tried many alternatives. I've settled on Now Pea Protein. It's sugar and flavor free. I make a green smoothie big enough for before/after my workouts. Perfect macros for lifting. Lots of spinach with flax, chia (really helps curb hunger), Greek yogurt, 1/2 apple,…

None of my shoes are small enough. I loved those shoes! It's hurts to sit on my butt without cushioning. I guess I'll get up and move more!

A couple of comments regarding the above posts. The cause of 95% of hypothyroidism in the US is due to Hashimoto's. The other 5% is iodine deficiency, which is hard to do on an American diet. The recent dietary research for autoimmune disorders are not common knowledge to doctors. Even specialists. Most degrees in medicine…

NOW Pea Protein is gluten/dairy/soy/nut free. No flavors or sweeteners. Buy it at Whole Foods.

78lb loss so far. I'm 5'8", female and 54 years young. SW 240# end of 2013. CW 162#. GW 155#.

I use plain Greek yogurt and yes, a protein powder in my smoothies. I tried 6 and settled on Now Pea Protein powder. Animal, gluten, dairy and soy free. Unflavored and unsweetened. The secret to any powder is proportions. I use just one scoop (24mg) in a 48 oz batch. This makes it drinkable. Combined with the 18g protein…

I continue my journey and am also looking for support and inspiration. Before I posted this "What a 70lb weight loss means" post, I only looked to folks who's goals were achieved. Most were young and often illuminated my physical limitations and my bad food habits. Yes, I've improved immensely regarding nutrition and…

When backpacking I usually carry a pack weighing about 30lbs. After losing weight, it's like losing almost 2.5 packs! Hard to imagine. Add to that the increased strength and endurance! I'm not sure how I was able to hike at my SW!

Hiking! My husband is an avid backpacker. He's 65 and a recent cancer survivor. Despite this, I couldn't keep up. Now he can't keep up with me. However, if my exercise routine was hiking only, I wouldn't have improved so much. Cardio, core and strength training at the fitness club provided me the necessary cross training…

I started by walking a couple miles. Few times a week. I hiked routinely, but I struggled with the my lack of strength and endurance. In February 2014 I started a group fitness class focused on weight loss at Lifetime Fitness. This was a huge turning point. It was 3 days per week at a scheduled time. It was a small group…

ABSOLUTELY! I believe the nutritional changes in my diet alone accounted for at least half of my health improvements. Doctors are at least a decade behind in the research for autoimmune disease treatments. Doctors may try to treat the damage that has already occurred with prescriptions, surgery and devices, but they know…

I'd like to join the group. I'm 54, and have been using MFP for about a year. I've lost over 60lbs and am within 10-15lbs of my goal weight. I'm surrounded by youngsters at my fitness club, and could use some mature support from those who are more interested in health than dress sizes.

I weigh every few days, but only log when I see a smaller number. Lol. I've been at it for almost a year and I personally hate seeing the fluctuations. (But I have lost over 58lbs!)

I'm new and am unsure how to add you! I see you're a Sun Devil living in Portland! I'm a (grieving) Duck, living in NC, with a daughter attending ASU! Small world. Going GF has changed my life. The brain fog, memory problems, sluggishness and weight gain of Hashi's are minimized. I wish MFP would track gluten!
