That's why it's important for each individual to find what works best and is sustainable for them. Saving my calories for a bomb dinner works for me because even if I had lunch and my husband offers to go to Olive Garden I'm going to want to go eat it! Instead I plan for it. And as someone else said, it's not as if that is…

How are you doing OP?
-
But that's your preference. I'm on 1200 a day for like 17 more pounds and I have been known to save all of my calories for some olive garden at dinner.
-
You're losing at at rate of about 2 pounds a week which is right on target. Hang in there. It adds up fast. Also, I would not eat below 1200 and enjoy eating back 1/2 of your exercise calories. Make sure you're using a food scale

False. Exercising is absolutely not the most important part of weight loss.
-
Great point!

Yes. That's how it is here too. Perhaps it's a regional thing? I'm from the Midwest USA

Yes! I relogged into My Fitness Pal in April because I was desperate to do something fully expecting another failure. In the past I had always tried things like LCHF and all clean eating which led me straight to binge town after about a week and I'd give up again. Anyways, the first thing I did was check out the forums and…

Interesting. I'm 25 and have only ever associated the word skinny as a positive term. I guess we all have different experiences. That said I agree that unless you either know the person is trying to lose weight and/or you are EXTREMELY close to them it is inappropriate to comment on weight loss or gain.

I meant that because it would be impossible to be 150 pounds under weight that the journey could be quicker if it's a 10-20 pound difference compared to losing 50+. Because either way it's calories in vs calories out (3,500/pound ) baring medical issues.

I recently had a weekend like this. Olive Garden gets me every time. I started to feel the slippery slope thing too because it happened 2x in a row but this week I've been back on track and have accepted that times like this will inevitably happen. I ended up around maintenence for the week. At first I thought…

First here's a bit about me because it likely effects my answers : from my starting point I had more weight to lose than I would weigh when I reached my ideal weight (morbidly obese) I'd choose to start underweight for the following reasons: * Hello, I clearly love food. * society treats obese people like they are…

Ohhh I sure would enjoy that NSV. When I was in labor I got poked 20+ times. They almost had to call someone from the emergency room when the person finally got it!

Both the nurse and Dr were excited about my loss and had great things to say!! That felt pretty good. One of my goals has been to make my family doctor proud! I have seen her since I was a little girl so she has seen me through all of my ups & downs (literally and figuratively)

Hey there, I'm a mother of 2 boys under 3 years of age. I'm 5'3 and started at 290 pounds. That's pretty friggin big. (Currently 222.2) I started my journey in mid April after reading a comment that changed my life. "Why can't you eat a chocolate bar if it fits in your calories? You can!" In the past I had tried…

I culled my list down to the the people that inspire and interact with me the most and have been much happier with my feed. I'm now far more selective about who I accept. I think it's just a difference of style of communication and a compatibility thing.
-
Congrats on the amazing loss!!
-
Ya, I think goal weight is when it REALLY hits people because people just think fat is fat is fat. Then bam, you're skinny now!
-
Super inspiring. Started at 5'3 & 290. Currently 222.2
-
The one where I eat whatever the heck I want as long as I'm hitting my protein goal for the day.
-
I used to be a regular 3k, 4k cal eater...which is why I'm here with you cool people ;) Also 5'3 and sorry but no way you're eating that unless you have a serious medical condition.
-
Ya I'm thinking about activity levels for sure.
-
My kids elbows and knees are suddenly feeling a lot more painful when hes climbing all over me. Not sure if that's a victory..... :D
-
Ya check out YMCA if you have one. Lots have free daycare while you work out. Besides if I had the kids alone that long I'd NEED that break yo. :D

Im 5'3. I started at 290 :s and set myself at 2 pounds a week loss in April and am still set to that. Current weight is 222.2 and I get 1200 calories. Once I get to about 205 I am setting at 1.5 to increase my calorie intake. I'm eager to find out what maintenance will be for me in the end. But I'm also scared. :D
-
Hey thanks! I didn't realize this!
-
Yep this is me too! I'll go a few weeks with no loss and then have like 3 awesome loss days in a row!
-
Sitting here dreaming of a 3,000 maintenance. I so wish...
-
I think it depends on how much you have to lose. You could easily blow your weeks deficit with one cheat meal if you have a small weekly deficit.

Are you using a food scale?
