California blend is my favorite go to frozen veggies. I cook them many ways. My favorite is toss them in olive oil and lemon pepper seasoning, put in foil packet, and place them on outdoor grill along with your meats. Very flavorful! Take the tips from everyone above. You have to experiment.

I'm with you @frannieshack. It's Captain D's, but it's so good! So when I give in to my Captain D's craving, I'll get the fried fish that has the excess calories but get healthy veggies as the sides like green beans (which are really good there). That helps satisfy my craving and stay within my goal.

Just a couple of thing I do to save... Instead of buying "boneless skinless" chicken breast (which can be expensive) buy chicken breast on the bone and with the skin. Then remove skin, bones, excess fat on your own. Don't spend unnecessary money on individual package snacks or 100 calories snacks. Just buy bulk and sort it…

(BTW - you could log some of your food you eat today under yesterday's diary if that makes you feel better not to see a goal exceeded!)[/quote] Good idea! Because I tend to be under my calorie goal on weekdays and slightly over on the weekends. Hate seeing the red for overage. :/

Because of your cardio and weight lifting you could be building muscles and losing fat. Muscles weigh more than fat (or should I say muscles have a greater density than fat). Check your progress by taking body measurements instead of weighing on the scale. Good Luck!

I use Butterball Natural Inspirations turkey sausage patties. I think they're 90 calories a serving (2 patties).

292 calories, very filling 2 Scrambled eggs, spinach, 2-chopped turkey sausage patties, 2 tablespoons of pico de gallo, one stick of light string cheese You could lower the calories by eliminating the cheese and/or using egg whites
