I took a doughnut at work this morning walked to the breakroom and threw it in the garbage. I just can't eat that stuff anymore, I just want fruit. XD

Dried beans and lentils are ultra cheap. Pay attention to what's on sale. I don't spend much on those items.

I've had some issues too, but I've recently choosing soluble fiber over insoluble as I am transitioning to whole food plant based diet. So I have to be careful even two months into it. There is a difference between loose stools and diarrhea, which I was unaware of. I have found for me, that if I start with grains and add…

My breakfast this morning was oatmeal mixed with a tomato, hummus, red lentils, turmeric, ground flax seeds, and pumpkin seeds. 450 calories of wonderful savory oatmeal. :) I use instant steel cut oats because I need something quick and easy.

Hey I'm 288 too, I was 12 lbs heavier two months ago and due to diet changes and no increase in exercise I've been successful! :)

I'm starting to really adjust to my new lifestyle, eating the right kind of foods to give me the results I want. It's fun to try new fruits, grains, and veggies all the time. We also have been going to more restaurants that have vegan food options, and that they make those options well. I've only lost 12 lbs over two…

I wat about 2,000 calories per day with no restrictions on what I can eat. I just eat what I want. That's about a 500 calorie deficit. I lose about a pound a week or about 3,500 calories. :)

I count them to track nutrients

Yay! :)

I follow Dr. Greger's daily dozen. My current challenge is finding the right balance between soluble and insoluble fiber, so I'm not running to the bathroom 8 times a day. lol

Put it in everything. :) I love roasted garlic!

If you read the book: How not to die; Dr. Greger cites a study that showed that people ate up to 48 servings of fruit per day with no change in weight. Better yet the sugars that come from fruit do not spike your sugar the way raw sugar does. I've lost 12 pounds eating all the fruit I want during the day. Also fruits deep…

Meditation can bring you awareness. Hunger can be a spiritual quest to understand life and the world more, but to lose weight I suggest eating lots of fruit, veggies, whole grains. Stay away from calorie dense foods and read all the advice that all these wonderful people have for how to lose weight. If that is your goal...…

Seeing that calorie deficits work over time, I like to see results so I take actions that lead to specific results.

I eat about 2,000 calories a day. I eat when I'm hungry and don't when I'm not. Super simple. So far over 2 months I've lost 12 lbs with a sedentary lifestyle.

It's not about burning calories for me, it's more about vascular health.

I looked at the nutritional info...processed food is not good for you no matter the package it comes in.

You can add me too!

I don't log it, I just consider it gravy on the weight loss train.

I'm at 45 days logging in. I'm addicted! Feel free to add me.

I also have joint issues. I track calories, use a food scale, I eat a plant based diet. I've been on it for a month and a half and have lost about 9 pounds. I do light exercise but mostly creating a calories deficit by eat unprocessed nutrient rich foods on Dr. Greger's daily dozen check list. :)
-
I eat a plant based diet and I count my calories religiously. You have to find what works best for you. My question is what kind of change can you make and stick with for one year. Patience is key. I'm going on two months and I plan on eating like I am right now for the rest of my life. I think diets are bad and lifestyle…
